Just wanted to say that during quarantine I have taken on loom knitting. I really wanted to make something special for a family member and when I came across this video I knew this was it. It was at first confusing. I found making a chart with symbols for the different types if stitches helpful and continued to power through this project. I really appreciate the amazing tutorial. Thank you
I just got back into loom knitting again, and your video made it SO EASY for me to get back until the swing of things. I'm using this pattern with the Yarn Bee "Cozy Occasion" yarn (color is Spa Day" and is turning out beautifully! Thank you!!
As I've said before, you have the most amazing easy to follow videos. I have two looms and have not yet used them but this I can follow thank you so much 🤗
I love the ending with how you just sewed ends together: I am gonna do this with earwarmers I make....way easier for me than re attaching loops...when doing earwarmer on about 6 or so pegs
Thank you for sharing these excellent patterns. What if you explain orally instead of the music so as to enable auditory learners understand detailed of what you are doing?
Needless to say,it's an amazing and easy to follow video.. I love all your videos so far... May I ask you, if I want to knitt more than 18 pegs, should I follow the same patten? thank you
Thank you Antzelina :) Yes, if you want to use more than 18 pegs, you'll need to add multiples of 4 to that number. For example, you could use: 22 pegs, 26 pegs, 30 pegs,... If you do that, you can follow the same pattern :)
Hi Gloria! Thank you :) Yes, you could follow the same steps minus the endings. Actually, if you choose a round loom with a number of pegs multiple of 4 + 1 (the 41-peg loom, for example), you just repeat "2 knits - 2 purls" over and over again and you get a result in spiral/diagonal. You can see what I mean here: th-cam.com/video/bzJfzGVzkQc/w-d-xo.html
Hi Trish! Thank you for your comment! If you have an infinity loom or a very long loom, I would recommend you to use a number of pegs multiple of 4 + 2 (for example: 82). Then you can follow the same pattern directions given in this video.
Hello how are you ? I love this pattern so much . Very easy to do thank you . Just wondering if I want to do this scarf skinner how much pegs should I use . Please I need an answer ASAP bc I have to start this tomorrow
Hi Amber! Thank you for your question, I understand the confusion! At minute 6:54 we start Row 4 and we work like this: "skip the first peg, purl 1, wrap&knit 2, purl 2, wrap & knit 2, purl 2 ... and wrap & knit 2, purl 1, knit the last peg", right? We can also sum up that as: "skip 1, (purl1, w&k2, purl 1), k1". Both are the same, if you work repetitions of "p1, w&k2, p1" you get "p1, w&k2, p1, p1, w&k2, p1, p1, ... w&k2, p1"
@@danilakoncar2716 hi! I they are correct (at least I think so). However, what you see at minute 11:11 is a summary of what I explained in a different way before, but it should be the same...
Watching the video and i'm confused. In Row 2 you have - Skip 1 (W & K1, P2 W & K1), K 1 and on Row 4 you have Skip 1 (P1 W & K 2 P1) K1. When I watched you always K2 or P2 on every row. Which means what we watch is different from what the pattern says. With saying this... Which way is correct. Thanks
Hi! Would there be a way to do this pattern while alternating colors? Or do you have any loomed scarf tutorials where you use two different yarns? Thank you!
I've been working on mine for months now (using Lion Brand's Homespun bulky 386 grape that's 98% acrylic and 2% polyester) and I am nearly finished, just 2 & 1/4 inches to go. From the beginning, keeping in mind one of your slipper videos and the hat brim fold over technique, I have been wanting to finish by folding over the cast on row under and over onto the original pegs (keeping the outside part inside the fold) and then either binding off the beginning and ending loops together OR knitting the rows together and then binding off (instead of binding off and whip stitching as you demonstrate in this video). Which would work better for an exterior seamless look? Thank you.
Thanks for the easy to follow video! just one question...what is the size of the loom? 3/8", 1/2', 5/8". Does it even make a difference hoe far apart the pegs are?
I'm no expert, but it's probably possible to do the knits in a dominant color and tie a half knot to attach the other color and do that one in purls. It's an involved enough pattern that you likely won't have to tie it back in on every stitch change though. I recommend watching tutéate loom knitting videos with multiple threads to see how they handle the multiple threads.
I am fairly new to loom knitting (less than a year) and really like the scarf shown. I would like to make one but before starting I noted what I think is an error. The pattern shown at around 11 minutes does not match what I am seeing the video. I refer specifically to row 2 and 4. Can you explain? I read your response to Amber Rose's question (like mine) but I am still confused.
Hi! The pattern shown at minute 11:11 is just a summary that I thought it could be helpful, but if it confusing, forget about it, ok? When it says "Row 2: Skip 1, (W&K1, P2, W&K1), K1" it means you skip 1 and then you work repeating the sequence inside between "(" and ")". Then if you write it down you will see it means: skip 1, W&Knit, Purl, Purl, W&Knit, W&Knit, Purl, Purl, W&Knit, W&Knit, Purl, Purl, W&Knit,... Knit. If you now check minute 4:02, you will see the explanation for Row 2 matches this. Hope this helps! (but if it still confusing, just follow the video directions and forget about the pattern summary)
I have a problem with this pattern because I started with more than 18 pegs ,should I double the pegs or there is a way to do it with 24 pegs as example?
In this case, it is most likely necessary according to the formula: 2pegs + 4pegs * X (2pegs = 1peg skip + 1peg knit; 4pegs in pattern; X - number of repetitions).... Therefore 24pegs breaks the pattern, you should use either 22 pegs or 26 pegs
Hi! You'll find your answer from minute 11:43 on: th-cam.com/video/pZVV3R6S9hQ/w-d-xo.html (you'll simply need to bind off your knitting work and stop following this tutorial instructions at minute 14:49
Why do you need to "Purl"?what is that for? Sorry because i havent try knitting so idont know but i hope i can get an answer thanks...I actually order online this knitting loom.so im excited to learn new things and patterns...thanks for this video tutorial...
Hi! There are "knit stitches" and "purl stitches". The "purl stitches" are the opposite type of stiches to the "knit stitches". This pattern needs both types :)
Hola! Sí se puede, pero te recomiendo que en los extremos (en el segundo poste, y el penúltimo poste, por ejemplo) vayas alternando e-wraps y purls, porque sino la bufanda se te doblará por los laterales
Hi Ruth! You could work the whole scarf using knit stitch, however, I recommend you to alternate knit stitch and purl stitch on the edges or the second and penultimate pegs to avoid your knitting to curl up
I need help! How do I know which row I left off? I was doing so well, I had knitted about 10inches long perfectly but I had to answer my phone and for some reason I can't remember which row I was doing? Normally when I have to take break I will knit all 4 rows completely that way it's easy for me to remember. Unfortunately when I tried to guess it wasn't diagonal pattern, so I had to undo the last part where I stopped. Pls help.
Hi Zee! I understand. I share here with you a tip that I included in my written pattern (the written pattern is available here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diagonal-infinity-scarf-2 ): The pattern sequence of every row starts with the opposite stitch you ended the previous row. This means Row 2 starts with "EWK", while the last stitch worked there at Row 1 was "P". Row 3 starts with "P", while the last stitch worked there at Row 2 was "EWK". Row 4 starts with "P", while the last stitch worked there at Row 3 was "EWK". So you don't need to count rows to know where you are, you just need to check the last stitch you worked at the previous row and you will know how to begin the next row.
I doubt it... but any chance of sending me 3 scarves... one in red, one in blue, and one in green... i know my older and younger sisters would love these... but sadly i cant afford the materials as we are finacially broke
From what I get the first time through the four rows in the video row 2 is: skip1 knit1(p2 k2)k1, then second review in video says skip 1(k1 p2 k1)k1. Am I seeing that correctly? Which one do I follow? I've watched several times, maybe I'm not following correctly but that's what I take away.
Just watched again, I see the full written review of all rows at minute 11. Is that the correct pattern for all four rows? I agree with another poster, the beginning of the video has rows 2&4 different than at minute 11.
Hi Sandra! I understand the confusion, I hope I can clarify it (if the summary white page is confusing to you, please ignore it, it tries to say the same in other words). On every row we skip the first peg and knit the last peg, so let's forget about these 2 pegs and talk about the 16 other ones. On Row 2 (minute 4:02 ) we: wrap&knit 1, purl 2, wrap & knit 2, purl 2, wrap&knit 2,... and (on the last 3 pegs of these 16 pegs) purl 2 and wrap&knit 1. We could summarize that as repeating (w&k1, p2, w&k1) on these 16 pegs. Because if you work repeating (w&k1, p2, w&k1) on these 16 pegs you: w&k1, p2, w&k1, w&k1, p2, w&k1, w&k1, p2, w&k1, w&k1, p2, w&k1. Hope this helps... Please let me know how it goes!
Hi Barb! I used 180 yards approx. of a bulky yarn called Phildar Rapido. You'll find more details here, together with the PDF written pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diagonal-infinity-scarf-2
I really like this pattern and would like to know if you recommend using a size 6 yarn? I cannot find #5, however I found a #6 that my friend really likes. Thanks!
I would've to try this pattern with a 4 play yarn with a smaller gauge loom how many more stitches can I add to have it come out as wide as the bulky yarn. I've done one scarf with the bulky yarn it came out great, thanks
Hi Nina! This pattern needs a number of pegs multiple of 4 + 2. I used 18 pegs from a 36-peg XL gauge round loom. You will need to add multiples of 4 pegs to that number. I recommend you to make a swatch before starting the project, so you can adjust the number of pegs and rounds you will need to get the same width and length. Here you will find the "Gauge" of my pattern and other info that might help you out: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diagonal-infinity-scarf-2
Hi Felicia! I tried to write the instructions in 2 different ways, but they should be the same. I understand the confusion, I hope I can clarify it (if the summary white page is confusing to you, please ignore it, it tries to say the same in other words). On every row we skip the first peg and knit the last peg, so let's forget about these 2 pegs and talk about the 16 other ones. From where can I get this looms and hooks
Hi! You could try looking for them on Amazon. Here a link to my recommendations: www.amazon.com/shop/tuteate
I am fairly new to loom knitting (less than a year) and really like the scarf shown. I would like to make one but before starting I noted what I think is an error. The pattern shown at around 11 minutes does not match what I am seeing the video. I refer specifically to row 2 and 4. Can you explain?
That does help, thank you for your reply.

I really like this pattern and would like to know if you recommend using a size 6 yarn? I cannot find #5, however I found a #6 that my friend really likes. Thanks!
Hi April! Yes, size #6 is ok too! :)

The written instructions do not make sense according to what you do in the video! Please fix! It was very frustrating figuring this out.
If anyone else, like me, was incredibly confused by the poorly written repeat instructions, hopefully this is a little clearer:
Row 1 - Skip 1, (K2, P2) x4, u-wrap K1
Row 2 - Skip 1, K1, (P2, K2) x3 , P2, e-wrap K1, u-wrap K1
Row 3 - Skip 1, (P2, K2) x4, u-wrap K1
Row 4 - Skip 1, P1, (K2, P2) x3, K2, P1, u-wrap K1

A scarf done this way curls some.
Really? Mine didn't curl at all...
