    This is fantastic! Thank you so much for the easy-to-follow tutorial **and** the diagrams! I've copied the diagrams down into my personal "stitch" book for easy reference. This will make beautiful items like: scarves, wraps, baby blankets, etc. It's very airy, stretchy and squishy! Just love it!

    You're absolutely the best tutorials on line for looming. I just finished this star stitch scarf. It's beautiful. I love the way you give the extra helpful hints. My ends and sides are very straight and very even. I now absolutely love looming. I've made several of your scarves and hats, all beautiful. Since it's going so quickly, I should have a nice assortment to donate to a shelter in my area once the cold weather comes. Thank you so much!!!

    Very nice & easy stitch, love it.
    It's really just one repeating row if you turn the loom around at the end of the row and keep going.

    • @hellomsyarn
      @hellomsyarn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you like the stitch! Yes, I realized it was the same row if you turn the loom, only after someone pointed it out to me.

    • @hunterpamelahunter
      @hunterpamelahunter ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that’s how I knit this scarf. It is easier for me to remember the pattern with the 4 numbers, by turning the loom after I knit the row.

    I just finished up this scarf for a Christmas present. I used Lion Hometown #5 over 10 pegs in the color Pinot...and it looks fantastic. It was so easy to make and only took 2 nights to complete while I watched TV. I've had this loom for a few years collecting dust because the results (per the instruction booklet) were SO boring. Ms Yarn has brought this loom back to life. Just wow!!!

    This pattern works so fast. I love that once you get the pattern down that you can go on autopilot and knock out several inches in a single setting. I used LB Homespun #5 yarn with 10 pegs. I think I may try extending by more pegs to try to make a baby blanket. It was super soft with the homespun.

    I love this! I just finished one that is almost exactly identical called a Sanfrano stitch by Kera Weiserbs in her book "Purls and Other Gems", page 108. The only difference is that in the Sanfrano stitch none of the wraps are twisted around the peg as they are in your star stitch. The end result is pretty identical though. It's a beautiful stitch and easy to do. Nice and thick for bitter cold weather like ours. 😃

    Fantastic video and a gorgeous stitch! I tend to rotate my loom as I work and early on in my first attempt at this, I fell into rotating the loom so that my working yarn always starts at the top left and I simply repeat Row 1 over and over. It looks nice, but I’m not sure if I’ve modified the stitch or if Row 2 is basically the same as Row 1 - only from a different angle?

    • @hellomsyarn
      @hellomsyarn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! Looking at the video again at 11:12 with those two drawings, it does appear to be the same moves, just upside down. In any case if it looks good to you, that's what counts.

    What is the actual width of the finished scarf? To make it wider as you describe in the beginning would adding sets of 4 per column? 3 on too 2 on bottom ? Say want 7 star columns add 2 sets?? Need to know the finished width to figure it out though. Great video!

    • @hellomsyarn
      @hellomsyarn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With my five columns, I had a width of only 5 inches, and my length was 54 inches. So it's not a very wide scarf. So one column for one inch. If you want 7 columns for 7 inches, then use 14 pegs on top, and 14 pegs on bottom, so 28 pegs in total.

    hi there I have started this tutorial on 7/2/21 on Sunday and it is my first project and I will show you the full project when I am done thanks for this video and I would like to ask you a few questions and that is what is an overall good yarn brand and weight size to get if you don't mind me asking thanks and when will there be more videos from you as well

    • @hellomsyarn
      @hellomsyarn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The yarn depends on your loom. When I double knit on a long loom for a scarf, I like to use #5 bulky yarn. I like Estelle Bulky. When I need a thicker #6 yarn for my 41 peg round loom, I like Wool Ease Thick and Quick.

      It looks more complicated than it actually is. Feel free to give it a try.

    I really want to do this, but I was wondering if I have to go out and buy this exact loom? I have a 26 peg orange rectangular loom and I'd like to know if it will work for this. I'll purchase the blue one on the video if it really makes a difference in the outcome of the finished scarf. Thanks.

      No, you don't have to buy the same loom she has. You can just use as many pegs as you want for the width of your project (as long as you use an even number)

      You don't have to buy a different loom. You can use the one you have...just use fewer pegs in even numbers so the stitch pattern will work out. I've made this scarf on the little KB loom that comes with the loom knitting basics set and it makes a fun little scarf...that loom has a total of 32 pegs--14 per "long" side (plus 2 on each end that I didn't use)...the scarf it made is a little bit narrow for my tastes...but still cute and functional. (The pegs on that loom are closer together/smaller gauge than the loom featured on this video and it still worked out just fine.)

      @@183Falcon Thanks for your helpful responses. The only issue I have now is finding a bulky knit, but I'll try online. Thanks again. I can't wait to try this. ☺️

    Wonderful video. However, I did find the music a distraction.

      Thanks Sheila, that's constructive. I'm going to reflect more on the volume of the music for my next video.

    Is Row 5 a repeat of Row 1?

    Your video is easy to follow... but did I miss something? You said make ten stitches which is not divisible by four. I'm hanging in there but am confused.

      I haven't tested this stitch in different yarn, but I encourage you to try different yarns and see for yourself.
