Best loom-teacher on TH-cam! The others had me so confused I didn't know if I was knitting or skating! ;) Thank you so much for teaching this 71-year-old how to knit!

Straight to the point and no purling or other nonsense!! Perfect for the beginner just learning about loom knitting. I’ve crocheted for 11 years ever since I was 9 years old and never really liked traditional knitting, I always thought it was too slow. But i just discovered loom knitting a couple of days ago and I’m so interested in it! Thank you again for this wonderful tutorial, you’re the best!! :)

I don't know if anyone is monitoring this feed. I LOVE it when you said "Go to the end of the rope". That just tickled me. Some videos are so serious people forget to have fun with it.

I'm a visual learner and so many of these videos have hands in the way. This video was great for visual learning. The instructions are easy to follow, there was no crazy music in the background and she is straight forward and has a very pleasing voice. :)

I very much enjoyed your video and appreciate you taking the time to make it for us. I do have a couple of suggestions though, if you don't mind. I've been looming for many years and find these two tricks to be quite helpful...I hope you and your followers will find them helpful also.
Tip #1... next time you're out and about, running errands, stop by McDonald's and grab up a couple of their plastic soda straws. I prefer McD's because their straws are nice and sturdy. So now you have your straws at home and you're ready to begin a new loom project. First thing to do is unwrap the straw and then cut it in half. Save the other half for future projects. Next, push the end of your yarn all the way through the straw. I recommend creating a slip knot and either attach it to your little anchor peg or just slip it onto your first knitting peg. Push your straw up close to the pegs, then holding the straw like you would a pen or pencil, begin your e-wraps. You will be amazed at how quickly you get each of those pegs wrapped!
Tip #2...Instead of doing the "cheater wrap" on the end peg, just leave that 1st peg with the 1 wrap on it, but continue doing the 2nd row of wraps on the rest of the pegs until you get to the other end. Work the stitches the exact same way as you showed us, pulling that bottom loop up, over, and off of the peg. Now, when you go to wrap that 2nd row again, repeat by leaving that 1st peg with just the one wrap. As you go back and forth those single-wrapped 1st pegs WILL get wrapped. You will find a much cleaner edge if you eliminate that cheater wrap on each end peg. Of course it's all about your preference, but maybe you'll enjoy this result as well.
Tip #3...I REALLY liked how you removed the piece from the loom...I never thought to do it that way but I like it very much. That being said, I don't think I would cut off the ends after they are knotted. Instead, I would weave them into the outside edges of the piece, the reason being that with my dumb luck those knots would find a way to work themselves loose and then my whole piece would run the risk of coming apart and we sure don't want that to happen. Again, just a difference of techniques.
Once more let me say thank you so much for taking the time to teach. That old saying about teaching an old dog new tricks, well, it IS possible and I'm proof of that cuz I'm one of those old dogs...lol! I hope you and your followers find my tips helpful. Have fun and remember...there's no such thing as too much yarn! LOL!!

I've had my knitting loom for who knows how long and I've never known what to do with it ... I surprised myself when I found the little tool that it came with lost in the depths of my treasure trove of crochet hooks! I have some extremely bulky yarn I can't crochet with so I may as well try to do a scarf out of it for charity. Why not? So glad I found your channel!

wow I really liked the way that u removed the square from the loom. I've been loom knitting for a year and I remove the project using the loop over loop method and wrap the working yarn around that to lock in the stitch . I didn't know about the length of thread method .while I probably will always do it my way I m gonna try Ur way aleast once . it seemed easier and much faster . Ur a good teacher thanks .

+sandi brill Yes. It will not come undone. Just trim it once you are done. Have a great day. Thanks for watching.

i actually just got a round loom kit a few weeks ago and im experiencing the curling issue when trying to make a scarf is there any way to avoid it curling at all or does it just naturally do it no matter what you do?

I saw a video about this being addressed. Look up a channel called Wambui Made It She shows how to make a flat scarf with a round loom. (No it's not me)

Are you using 2 strands of yarn when you make this?

With the looms you can use any number of strands. The more you use the thicker the end project will be. Try it with strips of material. It turns out cool.

I'm trying to make a baby blanket with a round loom. can you do a video on that?

    • @Annieb519

If you use the largest loom, 41 pegs, should be fine. Just keep track of how wide and long it is, as in keep measuring it. OR, follow this link, th-cam.com/video/QmBdYfo0DK8/w-d-xo.html
This baby blanket was SOOOO easy! Just make sure you use a CHUNKY SOFT YARN, #6. I used Bernat Baby Blanket yarn, worked perfect. When you get to the end of it, use the modified basic bind off. Here is a link for the modified basic bind off: www.loomahat.com/modified-basic-bind-off/ Mine turned out fine, but the one above looks easy too. Good luck!

+Samantha Bell - Thank for the question. We have made blankets by making squares, and then piece them together. It makes an awesome project. Let me know if you need help. Thanks.

when making a longer scarf, I find the edges keep rolling makind the scarf more of a tube instead of flat. how can I avoid this?

+Mary Fisher I made a little trim like how you make a hat. It helps me stop the end from curling. Just fold the begin part after making 7 rows or whatever you want. Watch video how to knit a hat with a round loom. And you do the same way for the scarf. oh i thought you mean the ends. Maybe with a flat iron? or use the largest loom. im using the largest to prevent curling the side.
