    I love Biscotte! Nice tutorial. Good luck with your channel. I'm editing this to add: I've been knitting for more than 50 years and I've done just about everything you can think of BUT I was not familiar with this stitch and now I want to rush out and buy the yarn to make on of these fab scarves. My local is Espace Tricot, a lovely selection of yarns but there is something about Biscotte that I absolutely love. Thanks for the inspiration!

      Thanks, Kim☺️ Ah that’s so cool! It’s definitely a fun stitch to work up if you decide to knit it🙂 I recently learned this stitch when working up a button band on a cardigan and loved the squishy material it created. And I’ve been meaning to bike to Espace Tricot to check it out but haven’t made it there yet! Perhaps this spring 🙂

    Hi! Just discovered your channel. :)
    Thanks so much for sharing this pattern! I know it’s a simple double stockinette, but I liked the idea of using the fine fuzzy yarn like alpaca yarn and possibly mohair like yarn blend which I have so much of. I have so much yarn I collected over the years but for these fuzzy alpaca and mohair kid silk I only could use it as a yarn to be held with. I never thought to knit as a double stockinette though I knew the stitch before. 😅 I have a bunch of alpaca silk yarn and airy baby alpaca merino blend. I tried my own scarf with different patterns and they come out thin. So I stopped completing after half way through. It either becomes really dressy with regular stockinette stitch with garter stitches on both ends so I think I will give this a try with these luxurious yarns I love the feel of but didn’t know what to do with! 😅😊
    I was surprised though to see you created tussles by knitting them. That will be too much work for me lol 😆 So I will just attach regular tussles if I wanted the look.
    Will visit your ravelry site to add to my project! ❤
    Thanks for the wonderful idea of using fluffy yarn! 😊

    Hiii! I think your tutorial is going to allow me to finally knit my first piece!
    Quick question, my yarn is for 5mm needles. Does that mean I should cast on more stitches or it just depends on my swatch? I like the size of yours :) hope to hear back from you!

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello! In this case, you likely need to cast on more stitches to get the same width, but that’s definitely no problem😉 Just make sure that you cast on a number of stitches that is divisible by 4, so you can work your tassels 🙂

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    does the technique for the tassels still work if i split it into 3 instead of 4? (i casted on 48 stitches) or does it have to be an even number

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ideally, it should be an even number when working in double stockinette - perhaps you could do 12 tassels of 4 stitches each? However, if you are using a very fuzzy yarn, 3 stitches may work 🙂

  • @emilyke5761

    So couple questions:
    Did you up your needle size, or did you use the suggested size?
    And how much smaller will it be from the scrap yarn you use? Thanks!

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Emily, apologies for my delayed response! I used a 6mm needle for my scarf, and the suggested needle size for this yarn is between a 5.5mm-6mm. (: The scrap yarn I used was the same weight as the yarn I used for my scarf. This doesn't have to be exact, but I'd recommend using a scrap yarn that is around the same weight as your main yarn. You can find all my notes for this project here: ravel.me/CalicoRadioKnits/fbas . Hope this helps and happy knitting!

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! In this case, I'd recommend checking out your yarn's label. Usually the yarn label will list a recommended needle size that will work well with the yarn. Also since scarf dimensions don't have to be too specific, you could also use the yarn label as a jumping off point for figuring out how many stitches you want to cast on. The label will typically tell you how many stitches to cast on in regular stockinette stitch per 10cm/4in. Hope this helps 🙂

  • @ilary01
    @ilary01 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I make mistakes very easily, how would you unravel several lines safely?😢

    • @calicoradio_knits
      @calicoradio_knits  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh no!😔 If you’re finding it difficult to unravel because your yarn is too fuzzy, you could put it in a ziplock bag in the freezer for a few hours. This should make it easier to unravel. If you’re worried about being able to pick the stitches back up correctly, you can think of it similarly to picking up 1x1 ribbing. The stitches should like alternating knits and purls. If you’d like to try to fix the issues rather than rip back, I also found this video, which may be helpful: th-cam.com/video/MyKG4nTRwYk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SVDYzx6y1B-fYZnw
