used to think this was exotic back when I was a kid in the early 80's. It used to have this pull tab style cap that was notorious for slicing the hell outta your fingers when you opened it. Ahh the good ole days.
First time trying Mickey's, so I thought I would see if you had a review, and you always do! You never let us down Ronald. Thank you. I got a 6 pack of the 12 ounce bottles, for $5.99, so very affordable (meaning the beer snobs hate it even before they taste it). You always provide an honest and objective review. My personal view is that this is excellent for the price, very flavorful, easy drinking, full bodied, and full flavored. Not the best beer ever, but quite good, and well worth the price. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Love Mickeys! I just thought: wonder where the name came from? I think? I first bought it in a little convenience store? outside of the equally tiny 'town'? of Umbarger, TX. @1990. It was never my go to brew-enter 'Coors Original', but I got it for it's perceived 'malt liquor' extra 'hit'. Coincidentally, I just had a bottle of this brew last week! Had not had any in a long, long time. After your review Ronald, I'm gonna honor you with gettin me some more. You are my favorite/only, really, TH-cam celebrity. Thank you again. Hope you live long and never give up on us 'poor slobs' ha ha, out here in 'computer land'.
I buy it from time to time in those 12oz bottles. Does pretty well around here actually. I'd give it 95/100 Solid A. I find its pretty balanced for an OG Malt Liquor. 2.5/5 Sugar Cubes. 2.5/5 Bread Slices. 2/5 Hop Cones. Leaves a lingering Citrus Bitter Note. Cheers!
I've always liked Mickey's. It has a little grassy note, in my opinion, which I actually like. I like to keep a 40 oz bottle in the fridge for a weekend. That 'The Eagle' can, which I've never heard of before, is very attractive. I love good can and bottle designs!
This is one of the few malt liquors I can find in 6 packs. Actually, it might be the only one I can find in 6 packs other than Molson XXX if you wanna count that, I dont know.
I miss living by train tracks! Never bothered me. Got used to it. YUMM MICKEYS goes down great hanging with the buds during a ball game. But feels like you got hit by a green grenade the next day💪💪💪
A good beer for sure. I just now got the 24oz cans in north Carolina. My only issue is it doesn't taste like a malt liquor to me. It's more like a premium beer to me. Maybe the 5.5 percentage was enough to slightly put it above premium beer standards. I guess the name sounds better if were to compare. Mikey's premium doesn't sound as good maybe
I've enjoyed Mickey's many times in the past Ron but I often wondered what it has to do with being a Irish product. It has a Irish theme to it. Do you know why?
I don’t care if the breweries change hands as long as the recipe doesn’t change
Same, here, FT.
9.1/10 in the Malt Liquor category is exceptional. I agree, good stuff.
It really is good stuff. Thanks for watching, Xizor. I appreciate it!
Good stuff! Colt 45 is still my favorite Malt Liquor, but Mickys is a close 2nd.
Thanks! I tend to have the same feeling about those two.
Hearing that train blow by reminds of of the late Gene Clark's song, "Kansas City Southern".
I am unfamiliar with that song. Yes, Mickey's is still going, strong. Well, perhaps not strong.
$8.00 here in Oklahoma for a 6 pack. Only available in the "grenade" bottles. I do enjoy it though. Probably my favorite malt liquor. Cheers.
That's rather expensive. Anyway, cheers, back to you!

I never saw those tabs, but I hear lots of people talking about them. Thanks for watching, George Vickery. I appreciate it!

Thanks, and I am glad that many people share our approach, John. Not enough, but more than before, I believe.
We used to call em grenades.
Yes, that's a common nickname for those bottles.
Wow, that's a loud train. I like Mickey's.
Especially loud! I am "pro-Mickey's", too.

Thanks, Arthur Robertson, III. I appreciate your support!
Unfortunately I can't fine Mickey's in Massachusetts. I enjoy it when I travel.
I'm sorry to hear this.

Just bought a 6 pack of this to review! Takes me back to my early days.
Excllent, Brian!
R.I.P. Mickeys Ice 😪
Yes. Thanks for watching, Patrick LoPiano. I appreciate it!
Do you remember Private stock????They also had the riddles underneath the cap
Yes, and I have reviewed it!
I almost forgot about Mickeys! I haven’t had it in about a decade, gonna have to try it again. It’s been awhile since I’ve had any malt liquor
I never grow weary of Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor.
Nice revisit Jay
Thanks, Gez!
You have got to LOVE Mickeys.......The Booze Geek, CHEERS, PROST!!!
I do, and cheers, back to you! Also, feel free to join my FB group, Alcohol Legs.
That's a fine fence you've got there. I think 91 out of 100 is a fair score. Thanks for revisiting a classic.
Thanks! It sure cost a lot! You're welcome, E Gordon!
@@ronaldtheriot I bet it was expensive... that inflation is no joke!

Yes, I was oh so happy to have gotten The Eagle and Sterling, before it was too late.
that train honk was a little unnecessary 😂 but 8 outta 10 for mickeys🍺
Right. I'll tell them not to pass, when I do videos. Thanks for watching, My Key Go Stupid. I appreciate it!
You’re definitely the beer connoisseur King
Thanks, Tony P. I appreciate you watching!
I get the 40 oz for $3.50. Very enjoyable, light malt liquor with a 5.5 abv. I’d give it a solid B.
Yes, 5.6%. "B" (good) is fair.
I enjoy Mickeys very often a 40oz here is $2.69!! Enjoyed!!
Good ole Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor!
I enjoyed the train noise and your 91 rating on this. My review that I put up the day is a little different
Thanks, BwB, and I will watch yours.
This is one of the few malt liquors I can find in 6 packs. Actually, it might be the only one I can find in 6 packs other than Molson XXX if you wanna count that, I dont know.
I can get a good number of malt liquor six-packs, in southeastern Louisiana.
Enjoy myself a mickey's, it has a banana like taste to me.
Really? Thanks for watching, Lord Slumpus. I appreciate it!
Yeah the inflation is honestly ridiculous I did not think Brandon could mess up America this bad this fast ,
And yet Eddie, HE HAS!!!
He's remarkable, in that horrible respect.
I miss living by train tracks! Never bothered me. Got used to it. YUMM MICKEYS goes down great hanging with the buds during a ball game. But feels like you got hit by a green grenade the next day💪💪💪
I like to hear the trains passing through, in the overnight hours.
Wow! I've never seen a Sterling can before! I had no idea the beer ever existed. Very cool can.
Yes, and we got their six-packs & quart bottles, here, until they abruptly went out of business, in 1997.
I wish we got Mickey's in the UK
I wish y'all did, too. Thanks for watching, Christopher Cooper. I appreciate it!
Why is the train going ham?
Going ham?

I'm glad you like it, and thanks for watching, Chris Stoud. I appreciate it!
Love me some Mickeys....a great adjunct lager. To me better than Budweiser Jay 😁😁🍺
I agree, Jean!
Mickey’s is no longer found in my area & has to be traded for in the Albany NY area according to my brother
VERY loud! I wish y'all would get Mickey's, again.
I've enjoyed Mickey's many times in the past Ron but I often wondered what it has to do with being a Irish product. It has a Irish theme to it. Do you know why?
It's a good question, Ralph, and I never could figure that out, either.
"Undrinkable", says the unbearable.
Yeah.
There are better malt liquors available for cheaper.
Really? What are they? Thanks for watching, Cat Enthusiast. I appreciate it!
