    Gday Don, not only do I love your content but its great the way you show a fail. We all fail while learning, its good to know and see that professionals do as well. Thank you for being You

      Oh... Yes, the fail in this video was surprising, coz I really thought the expriment will work. In theory it does! 😅 We learn together Maddy. I also will never pretend that I am sooo good, I do not make mistakes. Cheers! ☺️🎨🎨🎨

      +1 on this. Actually showing "failures" help as well, and gives me reassurance to try something new since I am reminded that the masters can also make mistakes 😊

    Your video is exactly what I look for in painting tutorials. Going back and showing how you glaze in the medium just to clarify is perfect. I love the exact ratios of mixtures you showed as well. Your skills are breathtaking and over the past 3 weeks, this is my go-to channel when I have any questions regarding patining. Keep up the great tutorials!

    I stuggle making that cool red to yellow shift. I will try this next time

      I failed to mention this in the video, but key is to let the retarder medium and red paints underneath dry just a little bit... before painting the orange. Should register well but will still blend nicely bro. ☺️🎨🎨🎨

      Honestly, its fun to talk about color theory, but the challenge is to make it as understandable and simple for most people. I hoped i explained it well in this video though. ☺️🎨🎨🎨

    Another helpful video bro. Where did you buy your oil brushes? And how do you clean your oil brushes after using it to drybrush?

    • @DonSuratos
      @DonSuratos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Deovir... Art supply shop bro. Soap and warm water. I think it will last for a long time, unlike cosmetic brushes.

    I have a HORRIBLE time getting the actual blending done when I'm wet blending, because getting the two edges to blend before they dry is a raging PITA. Without applying thicker layers than I'd like to anyway. I'll have to try using retarder medium the way you do to see how it works for me!

    • @DonSuratos
      @DonSuratos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Retarder medium should give you more time to blend sir. Also paint the underpaint first before blending. ☺️

  • @Branderyk
    @Branderyk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With Youre experience which brush is better for drybrushing? Soft or stiff bristle like this hog?
    And I think 1st method is not good for wet blending but when we mix paint with retarder feathering makes it easier.

  • @jamminghaze
    @jamminghaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wet blending feels bit like hitting nail on wall, with one hit. If done correctly. going thicker, might ease with drying, but is always double edged sword. been trying to learn how to do fading glazing lines. 😜 controlling the thicness is hardest part and choosing how to load the brush...then wiping excess paint to palette. You could add more words but then you should speedtalk like machine gun. lol 🤣 back to painting.
