  • How to wet blend. How to wet blend miniatures made easy for beginners. This 11 minute wet blending video is kinda different. The video shows the wet blending and painting of the leather armor parts and the horn using Vallejo paints and the Vallejo Retarder Medium.
    The application of the vallejo retarder medium is different, but it kinda worked and I am happy with the result. Hopefully you find this wet blending video easy to understand an emulate.

    The red leather probably wasn’t working due to the orange/yellow tone brighting up when dried. I love using red but it’s the only color I feel you have to always plan 3 steps ahead for.

      You are most welcome. I feel though I applied a bit too much retarder medium on the model. Will make it thinner next time. Also the deck tan is a bit too light, the umber struggled to cover the base color ( but it could also be the thick retarder medium ). We will make a couple more wet blending videos bro. Wet blending made easy indeed! After watching your recent video I grabbed glazing medium and, on accident, stumbled upon retarder and picked it too on a whim. Looks like I will be having use for it!
    As a side note - I think making video of "must have paints" (in your opinion) from Vallejo range (or perhaps also their 8/16 paints sets?) could be a great material for new painters looking to get a solid range of colours.

      @@DonSuratos just watched it - you tricked me by leaving thinner medium to the end 😂😂 but really, that helped out a lot.
      So would this be a correct view;
      - Medium in general makes paint flow better and dry a little slower.
      - Thinner medium does this while retaining the same properties of the original paint.
      - While Glaze medium adds transparency, and maybe makes things a little more matt overall.
      So tl;dr - I need both lol
      I ordered 2 bottles of glaze medium on Thursday after binging a bunch of your videos. Now I guess I need thinner too =]

    @joshfoss7407 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you're laying down base colors like the brown, I notice that you use use very deliberate brush strokes. Often small strokes from different directions. Other top-end artists do this as well which is totally different from the GW-beginner process of just applying a layer to everything. I'm guessing this helps set shadows and build texture on top of the primer. Is there a good way to learn how to know the technique and direction you use when putting the brush to the model?
    I feel like this is something artists do sub-consciously, and it probably has a huge impact on the difference on the final result.
