  • Some time ago my DBforgoods channel was deleted for violating copyright. As most of the videos had no problems, I decided to repost some that I haven't seen around. Many of them were extracted from episodes of the Old Grey Whistle Test, posted by a You Tube channel that unfortunately no longer exists. My gratitude to the person who made these historical archives available.

    I partied with them on New years eve at Alex Coolies electric ballroom in 76 Atlanta. We rocked it all night long

      I remember the electric ballroom. Saw Rush and Kiss there with a fake ID. That was back when Atlanta actually had rock venues. I think Charlie McGruder's was the last rock club in Atlanta before it shut down in the late 80's.

      Always an opener. Who would dare try to follow? They played fraternity parties here in Tuscaloosa in the seventies and eighties. When they took breaks they would all mingle and were the “finest” people you could hope for. So nice and easy to be around.

      Three here, too. I saw them in the mid '70s, opening for Ten Years After. Then at Atlanta's 1000 seat Center Stage, headlining. (the 'Black Radio Won't Play this Record era.) And the last time headlining at Macon's Capital Theater on 03/12/2012.

    I remember walking home (with a little buzz 🐝😜) and cutting through the campus of St. Augustine college in Raleigh, NC. I heard the song Roundabout (by Yes) being played by a live band. It definitely caught my interest as a young musician. I followed the sounds and the was Mother’s Finest. Needless to say I was completely blown away. What a gift! This was somewhere in the mid 70’s.

    Saw them live at The Switch in Raleigh, NC back in the late 70s, early 80s, they are still masters of the funk rock thing. This is awesome, so glad I found it. Thanks!

    2 shows are included in this video. A Don Kirschner show from 1976 and a live show from The Netherlands, Live at Lochem Festival, 1981 (May 28th) and recorded for Dutch VARA Television. Exact Location: De Zandkuil Openluchttheater, Lochem, Netherlands

    the second section, outdoor stage, is definitely neither 1976 nor 1978 -it far less as old.

    • @delmedeiros3570
      @delmedeiros3570 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Drummer BB Borden still plays with them, so the oldest possible video is from 1981, the year he left the band. If you look at the musicians' faces, you will see that they have the same features, for example, from the 1978 concert at Rockpalast, so if it is not that old, show their fountain of youth or tell the exact date of this concert and why you states that the date is definitely wrong.

    • @daktarioskarvannederhosen2568
      @daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@delmedeiros3570 it is from an outdoor show in the netherlands, 1981. before my initial comment i took note that the members look slightly older than 1978 and borden has different drumset from 1978 rockpalast and murdock is playing guitar here and keyboardist keck is gone.

    • @delmedeiros3570
      @delmedeiros3570 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@daktarioskarvannederhosen2568 The drums being different, or Murdock using the guitar as a prop, didn't tell me anything, but I noticed one detail. Those "bracelets" that Joyce is wearing were something that was used a lot in the 80s. It must be like you said.
