Haven't been so confused and intrigued by a game since Animal Well and that was a crazy rabbit hole. This game seems to revel in reminding you just how tasty everything finds you. Is also just so visually distinct.
Hell yeah! Rain World may be the most interesting game ever made. (1:25:28) Classic. This is a rite of passage for any RW player. (1:27:40) And so is this. Good ol' Drainage System. Nothing bad ever happened in Drainage System.
Keith (and other people reading this), I want you to know that it's ok if you do anything that you regret, I've seen people clamour about LPers doing the wrong thing when in fact, the game accounts for it. Also, I do recommend turning on Remix, but maybe this is a little late, I think you've recorded this much in advance.
Definitely quite late. I sincerely thought most accessibility settings were on by default now so I was a bit surprised to see mostly the same game I played in 2017.
Best of luck with this game! Its one of my favorite ones because of what it brings for entertainment. Keep your head up and persevere, this is a kind of game that rewards the curious and perceptive travelers.
8:49 "good on you if you were able to figure that out" ....well, i was..... but not before the tutorial angrily put red Xs over all the button prompts to call me a masher. i think you did better than me 😂
37:46 "What are those?" refers to a 2015 vine where a man asks a police officer about his work boots in a startled manner (basically just making fun of him).
Yippee! This is one of my absolutely favorite games of all time, the story is wonderful, the setting is beautiful, the art, the music, its just all great
promise this isn't spoilery: if you want to take physical notes on the game, i highly recommend it. i primarily took notes on the background symbols, but they can be handy for all kinds of things. there's a lot of neat stuff about background symbols if you want to dig into them
@@umbra4540 :'D if it didn't mean anything to me, I wouldn't have read the rest :P ...ok, I would've read it but... I probably would've been cross about it
If it helps, I also find difficult games intimidating and I adore Rain World. Unlike something like Dark Souls, a lot of the difficulty comes from knowledge rather than execution. It also has a bunch of minor and major assist options. You can find them in the Remix menu.
I'd recommend trying out the Monk campaign, if you're interested! I wasn't sure if the game at first with Survivor, but I beat it with Monk, and now I adore it + have like 100 hours. It's not for everyone, but I recommend giving it a shot!
@@B_SkizzleWell, I wouldn't say that Dark Souls is hard because of difficult execution itself, but more because of having to ingrain in your muscle memory the right responses for the right situations, but aside from that I agree completely!
I'm not sure what the issue was with getting up in Drainage System. It's just climbing up the ledges like you were doing so far (especially with the first one you already climbed twice before, at 1:38:01). The animation even shows you briefly going up but you're simply not following through.
My favorite thing I remember hearing from the devs: A lot of effort was put into animations to make sure, that your character moves like a real slugcat. (no slugcats are not real :)
this is great. i was just wanting to watch someone go through this game again and here we are. good luck! don't get bummed about dying, you always hear that every death is a learning experience in games but it feels triply so in rain world. even if you have already beaten it. also do you plan on playing the DLC?
FINALLYYYYYYYYYY HOLY SHIT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this game is absolute PEAK, it will absolutely do its best to break you but if you can stick through with it, it has the chance to become a top 5 game easily.
There's a lot of lore to uncover in this game. Shame that it takes so much work to actually do so (I'm lazy and skill issue). The community is where I learned (spoiled) most of it. For the most part I just like for scug go wee
What you're specifically referring to was always a community effort anyway, it was never expected to be done by a single player. Case in point: the base game literally needs you to do multiple playthroughs to get everything.
1:12:51 - those are called 'passages'! I'll let u figure out what they do :3 1:13:00 - That's your kill count! The 'fern' symbol was a pole plant, aka the thing u speared.
Wait, what? I played this game in 2017 and it was very much there. A lot less "navi"-like and barely showing or teaching anything (probably wasn't in the tutorial at all) but almost always there, just like in Keith's first episode.
@@buttonasas Sorry, I mean't in beta testing and stuff like that, the people who tested it were so confused and annoyed that they didn't know what they were supposed to do so the devs (reluctantly) added "iggy" as a guide.
