20/2/24: a lot of people have been asking about the splitscreen, figured I should clarify: the splitscreen mod by Henpemaz (it’s one of the most popular mods on the workshop, it shouldn’t be hard to find) has a setting in its remix menu that allows you to split the game into two windows entirely. hi you may have noticed this recording is 8 months old the original idea was to record (almost) all the campaigns, then make one super long video out of it but it's taking a while to get through the DLC (i'm usually busy with university, so good recording times are sparse) _(if you subscribe to holo, you might just catch one of those recordings live. just sayin'.)_ so i decided to split it in two (a relatively recent decision, which is how the recordings got so old) this video, to serve as a sort of "rain world introduction", and another video that's all the other campaigns just in case i want to make more rain world content in the meantime also, don't expect long videos like this very often, i'm too busy to do that constantly just the occasional big project. for fun, y'know?
@@ozenvr basically Jolly Co-op is a DLC exclusive tool that allows you to play with up to 4 players at a time, and it lets you use unlocked (im pretty sure only campaigns you have beaten) slugcats in the game
I mean it’s a game plus it could be in the situation where two slights meet so it’s not that one slight revives the other it’s that they revive by the cycles
@@mxyzptplkwe could say that if the dead creature manages to get to a shelter, some how, they will revive, since the cycle has passed, or re-started, according to the lore
if coop was canon it would be hard mode, because it is possible for someone to die, and from their perspective they come back but if you save theyre gone
So actually if someone dies in your cycle and you survive, your cycle continues with them being dead, and they get their own cycle without you alive. So you just separate ways. It's kinda complicated but that's basically the reason the survivor and monk want to ascend (their family died and they survived in the same cycle)

I don't know what prompted me to click on this video a week ago, I've never watched any of your content before. But i just want to say that this was so fun to watch that I bought Downpour a day after i first watched this and have been addicted to Rain World since. Just completed Gourmands campaign, and am currently in the middle of both another Survivor run and my first Hunter run. Hella good game and hella good video, thank you.
Just wanna let you know that I first watched this when it popped up on my recommended after looking for Rain World related videos, back when it had maybe a 4th of the views it has now, and I've been rewatching it often since as either entertainment when I eat or as background noise when trying to fall asleep, and I'm really grateful it exists, haha. It's also been great to see the views gradually go up. Definitely deserved.
Oh all the rainworld video, I enjoyed watching this whilst playing my own route the first time. And seeing how much easy both of you traverse through the world has inspired me (a noob) to be better at the game XD
I've watched this video like 4 times and I just keep coming back because #1 It's one of my favorite games. and #2 You two are just so fun to watch and listen to. Like genuinely its so entertaining and I will be watching it several more times over. I'm excited for the rest of the playthroughs!
Rain world is one of my fav games, even if im absolutely garbage at it lmao, so i generally prefer to watch it and play only when i feel like getting stressed you n your friend make watching it so entertaining, i'm hooked :D

besides being a little disappointed you didn't go through the non-wall route of five pebbles (five pebbles and the general systems bus is, imo, the biggest "WOW" moment of rain world), really great video!

I was looking through the game files, mostly in an attempt to decipher the in-game language, and I discovered that, as monk, if you beat the game through outer expanse, it shows survivor with 2 slugpups in the tree when monk gets back
When Artificer said "It sounds like the FNaF cams" she meant when you pull them up, and put them down over and over. Not flipping THROUGH the cams super fast.

I got so proficient at speed running that area that I very nearly passed without using the shelter. Then I finally watched a Gormound video uncut and saw them discover the shelter… and felt so dumb…

The canonical reason for people reviving is because its almost impossible to die which is what the aincents, and there iterators, were searching for
co-op mode isn't canon so there's no explanation for that specific kind of reviving
