Such a well thought out quilt the colors a beautiful , thanks so much for the pattern , I think i will start with maybe 12 inch block to get some experience in then tackle the big one.
This is the most comprehensive and complete tutorial I have ever seen on this method. Many years ago I attempted a pillow and it was not fun and I was very discouraged. I can see my errors clearly now and will be using up my tons of scraps for this quilt! Thank you!!!!
What a BEAUTIFUL Quilt! I always wanted to tackle a Cathedral Window, but as a "purist" (hand work) quilter, I just knew it would take e YEARS. Your quilt is done so precisely that I am certain my own grandmother would choose the machine instead of all that time doing hand stitches. And what a really lovely way to tie it, rather than add more stiffness with quilting the whole thing! I think I am ready to plan and execute my own Cathedral Window now. Thank You!
This was an excellent video and thank you for the comprehensive pattern guide. I had see this technique recently and looked at several "How To's" and your was the best by far. Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise. I look forward to your next videos.
Well I think after watching this I might go from making a small throw to making a pillow! Just kidding. The organization of this is a little intimidating and the bulk and heaviness of it is worrisome but you make it look easy. It's such a beautiful quilt. You do ombre quilts so well. Thank you for the pattern and the video.
I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH WHAT AN EXCELLANT JOB YOU DID EXPLAINING EACH STEP OF THE QUILT ASSEMBLING PROCESS! YOU ARE VERY TALENTED AT QUILTING AND TEACHING. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TALENT!
Many years ago i made the hand sewn style of cathedral windows. It had no batting, just layers of fabric, but it was self finishing as you went. It was very heavy, and it was very hard on my hands. Your quilt and tutorial are wonderful!
I wish I found this tutorial sooner. This is so thorough and makes it look much easier than I thought it was. It is definitely now on my not bucket list anymore but my to do list.
Your quilt is gorgeous, I love it. Thanks so very much for the pattern and for accompanying video. Your tips and techniques are concise, thorough and easy to follow.
I took my cathedral window quilt to a long armer and they were able to quilt it using a scoop foot! I was thrilled at how it came put and I like the extra texture it got
Your quilt is just so beautiful. I have made only single cathedral blocks to use as Christmas ornaments. They were so fun to make and give away to friends or for an ornament exchange in my Quilting Group. Making them attached to each other seemed almost impossible to me. I’m still not sure after watching your video that I would be successfully complete such a huge task. Maybe a pillow, but even a smaller quilt - crib sized, would be hard to maneuver under my needle! This is such a great tutorial. I love how you broke it down into parts and methodically completed each section. This must have taken a great amount of time to video since it would have to be over a long period of time. Amazing work. Thank you for sharing this! Such a tremendous labor of love!
Britney, thankyou for an excellent tutorial on Cathedral Windows. Your work is perfect and the quilt has turned out amazing. I had almost given up thinking of doing one of these, but you have completely turned me around.
SUCH a wonderful heirloom to make here🎶🥰🧵💕. Your eye for color and fabrics is so spot-on, I was blessed indeed to get the quilt kit for this before you ran out….ALL these lovely fabrics singing together without one wrong note! I have since bought the Summer Scrappy quilt kit too to make for my son and daughter in law. Not every Creative is a Good Teacher - thank you, Brittany for communicating the details so intentionally and without one thing forgotten. Blessings to you and Peter as you grow and develop - and CUT - more lovely things for us groupies to follow along with. Quilting is a great joy and you have made this so much fun. This is the 3rd quilt I have made from Lo&Behold. 🥰💕🧵🎶
This was a superb tutorial and an absolutely stunning quilt your choice of colors and arrangements were spot on! Thank you for being super clear with every single detail making this seemingly difficult looking quilt possibly doable for me.🎉❤
Beautiful quilt. Thank you for such a comprehensive tutorial. When so many tutorials seem to be about how fast something can be made, it was such a pleasure to watch you work and give so many tips. ❤
Stunning quilt ! you just inspire me to make one. Long time ago I make one for my granddaughter but now I’ll do it for me! Thanks for your free pattern It’s sure coming handy! Love your tutorial very well explained.
Stunning! But then, ALL of your quilts are stunning. 💕I recently purchased one of your kits and I LOVE it! You are incredibly talented. It takes a true artist to choose the colors/fabrics and arrange them as you do to accomplish these unique results. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Your quilt is absolutely stunning. I have read through the whole pattern and I am excited to choose some fabrics. I will try the pillow or baby quilt in your QAL. Thank you for your free pattern and also for this detailed tutorial.
Cathedral window is on my bucket list! I am a beginner quilter and when I watched other tutorials it was confusing to me how to put together a large cathedral quilt together. Now with your wonderful tutorial I finally understand!! Thank you so much!! What a beautiful quilt!!
I’ve been wanting to make a Cathedral Window Quilt for a long time. You’ve given me the courage! I started cutting last week and am looking forward to following along! Thank you for putting this together. 🤗
What a wonderful tutorial! You explain and show everything in such detail! I feel confident that I can now make a cathedral window project, but I think I will start with a table runner first! Thank you for such an informative tutorial!!
This is a so pretty! It has always been one of my favorite patterns. I have made quite a few quilts, but not this one! Thank you for such wonderful and detailed instructions…and thank you for the free pattern!
Thank you so much. This was a perfect tutorial. The quilt is even prettier than in the pictures and you are explaining everything so well. I’ll try to make a pillow first and then maybe go for a baby size. Won’t have time for the QAL but I’ll definitely try it out.
GIRL THIS IS CRAZY BEAUTIFUL!! I can't believe that u did all of that! it's so amazing, so pretty and so perfectly explained! I really enjoyed the video, thank u so much!!
Lovely quilt! I’ve wanted to make a cathedral window quilt for a long time. I think I’m going to start with a pillow and then dive in to make a larger quilt.
I am STILL making my cathedral quilt, years in the making. I make about 8” white squares, sewing them into a box, turning them right side out, then joining them on the diagonal into a long strip. I started out making this as a baby quilt, but as it was taking so long, it’s grown into a larger quilt piece. My center pieces have a pattern “in the round”, similar to crocheting a grannie square. Unfortunately, my white fabrics aren’t all the same because I buy new fabrics as the quilt gets bigger, so some are slightly off white. No, I’m not done yet … but pull it out every few months to get another row or two in, and make my curved windows. I should say that my center square inserts are 2” square, and I am hand sewing the windows, which is why it’s taking me so long. I really like the white square folded diagonally, and the squares being bigger. Thank you for the tutorial
I really enjoyed your video. All parts of this and the pattern are so professionally done. Thank you. I am looking forward to looking at your other patterns as well.
You have such a pretty variety of fabrics? How/where do you acquire them. Otherwise thanks for the video. The finished quilt is very, very beautiful. So glad you left the overall surface puffy, rather than ironing it. Liz
I lov ur wrk its very very Beautiful I'm thinkin hard about making another one I make all of my quilts by hand idont like ripping out wen i machine sew im trying ur way this time wrk in sections thx u 4 sharing
This looks amazing to try. I’m wondering if the white window could be done in a cotton lawn or voile to reduce bulk? Looks like it’s probably 1/2 the weight of quilting cottons.
Wonderful tutorial! I am looking over the pattern and am wondering if the windows are cut the same as the background and frame pieces. Seams like they would be too big after the squares are sewn together?
Thank you so much for the free pattern! I'm going to try the baby or throw size first! Also I think we have the same sewing machine (6700P)? How do you like yours?
Absolutely beautiful
Very beautiful job. I will try this soon
Thank you so much. Now I want to make one. It’s beautiful and that’s the style I really wanted. Thank you
