3:05 There two types of camels in India. 1) The Hot desert camel in Thar Rajasthan, found in Middle East region. They have one hump and short hair. 2) The Cold desert camel in Ladakh, well it gets really hot too, also called the bactrian camel. They are two hump camels with fur coats. They are found in Central Asia.
22:28 He did. The biggest impact would be a Weak monsoon in India ( not week monsoon ). Because low pressure would not be able to form. That means less rain in India.
Guess things will keep swinging back and forth. My father was involved in extending the green cover and stabilizing the sand dunes of Rajasthan when he was appointed there in the late 80s. There used to be massive sandstorms and people had no means of livelihood except cattle rearing. Agriculture was practically impossible because whatever tilling and sowing you did, it got covered with inches of sand by the night. Lots of breathing problems was another problem. Given the severity of the situation and the problems, they decided to bring in P. Juliflora to kill two birds woth same stone: it has long and extended roots which grabs the sand and stabilizes the dunes + it fixed nitrogen and gave the sand enough fertility for cropping. After observing and studying for almost 2 decades, it turns out Juliflora is an invasive species and might cause harm to the native species. So now they are trying to develop GM plants , some of them to replace P. Juliflora and some crops which are resilient. As an outsider who has lived in Rajasthan for a few years, I think it's easy for others to speak of saving desert ecosystem. But it's not an easy option for the local and poor villages of Rajasthan. It's almost like someone living in a centrally air conditioned house with induction driven kitchen wondering why the poor people use wood for cooking.
India is the only country on earth by the grace of God that you find mostly season or weather in different parts of Indian in the same time. Dry hot dessert to cold chilled snow fall, mostly raining place to Greenery
In India, there is a wide variety of camel breeds. In the Thar Desert and Rajasthan, the most commonly found camels are the one-humped dromedary camels. These camels are well-adapted to the hot and arid conditions of the desert In the Himalayan region, you can find the Hairy Bactrian camel, which is adapted to the cold climates and rugged terrain of the area. Those types of camels are mostly found in the cold desert regions of Leh and Ladakh in the Himalayas.

I hope you read this. Well, there are many solutions but they will take time and a effective policy. For example cloud are not only formed by ocean but by forests as well. So if we increase forest by 2 or 3 times in next 20 years in eastern side of India then that side wouldn't have any severe effect of changing mansoon patterns. But for that agriculture area in states like bihar and eastern UP have to be reduced and turn into forests. which can only be done by replacing current crops with more productive crops like millet and barley which requires less water and less area, these crops traditionally used to be seeded before green revolution in India 1966. All these points are interlinked and can only be implemented by government efforts. Recently Modi promoted millet,so i think government have a little plan to tackle next 50 years

There are major sites of the Indus Valley Civilisation, in the middle of the Thar desert. This is because about 5-6k years ago, the Thar desert was in the drainage basin of the Saraswati and Yamuna rivers, which were tributaries of the Indua river. Over time, Yamuna river shifted eastwards and became a tributary of the Ganga; and the Saraswati river dried up. The Ramayana mentions of the area of Western Rajasthan getting cursed to forever be turned into a desert, which earlier was a prosperous kingdom. I don't think turning the Thar green again would have major impacts on the Indian monsoon; since the monsoon depends on loads of other significant factors. It is unfair to let the people of Rajasthan suffer droughts, just because of some unverified hypothetical notion that it would somehow weaken the monsoons.
India uses camel infantry to protect its western border, the only country to do so. If the Thar Desert turns green, central India could become a desert. While this might help people in Rajasthan, it could wreak havoc in north and central India. We've already seen temperatures hit 52°C (125.6°F), impacting ecology everywhere, including Rajasthan.

There is also similar documented research on how thar is expanding and turning forests on it's boundaries into desert. There are more organizations in India working to stop the spread of desert than to stop greenification of it. I personally think it's all opinion based even though it's scientifically proven cause there have been tendencies in humans who prove things using science that they start to think there is no science beyond their knowledge. A type of God complex

I don't think anyone can predict what exactly will happen because of greenification of Thar, this particular problem of Thar shrinking or growing connected to larger climate change issue, and no one can fight climate change by planting few million trees, earth's atmosphere is warming because of 1.5 trillion tons of excess carbon we put in the atmosphere, unless until we find a way to reduce that we are not change climate change.
