Thanks Fieldsports Channel for the opportunity to share our story and our vision, lets look positively to the sustainable future of deer management and adding value to our amazing wildlife..The DeerBox Team xxx
Wildgame meat (maybe it has more to do with shooting, butchering, and cooking myself) feels as if it has more energy. Like Bas Rutten said (about something different), when I eat wild meat, it is like lightning is coming out of my hands lol.
Please think before placing such comments! Novice stalkers look to such for advice and guidance. Have you ever followed up on a deer (or fox for that matter) that has been shot with a fmj or a tougher bonded bullet ( intended for tougher larger quarry) that has failed to expand? Not a pleasant experience for the quarry or the hunter. I've seen grown men weeping. We owe it to our quarry to select the correct projectile for the size of quarry and distance to be engaged, so correct expansion can occur and bring about as swift a death as possible to the selected cull beast. Bullet selection shouldn't be about reducing meat waste.
@@markw4900 kinda ignorant to think you are the be all and end all sage of wisdom. Non expanding bullets are often used on varmints or animals for hide here. They make less damage and force the stalker to make a well placed shot. If grown men are weeping they should. Because they took an unethical shot and or didn't put enough time in at the range. Ammunition is just like a rifle. They are tools as a part of a set ment for a variety of purposes. Don't moralizing every question brought up because you don't have Jesus in your life. Questions are meant to be brought up to learn, not to prove how virtuous your are.
@@therickpoundSorry but unfortunately Rick it is all too close to reality. I'm registered for dog follow up work in the UK so see first hand. Ask any UK dsc 2 accessor what there thoughts are regarding ammon selection for deer Sorry if I ruffled any feathers no offense was meant
Mark W No feather ruffled my friend, I was replying to the first post, the use of non expanding ammo is far from suitable for humane dispatch, for all large game, certainly in UK, clearly we have both spent hours tracking an animal shot with the legally require expanding ammo, just in the wrong place for whatever reason, or just a pumped up animal that made it to thick cover, dead on its feet or not as often is the case. No doubt there is someone somewhere that advocates fmj for som job or reason, but on medium and large game I am not aware of it.
Bloody hell mate... bit harsh! He seems like a nice enough young lad and let's face it, a few fresh faces amongst us older grumpy bastards aint a bad thing.

A non expanding bullet even given the size of the animal would do the job without destroying the meat?

That’s not even close to reality my friend, I say your not familiar with this topic.
