The Woodsman, based in Statford-upon-Avon, UK offers a traditional approach to contemporary British cooking in comfortable and convivial surroundings. With a core field to fork philosophy, Mike sources ingredients from the bountiful English countryside; the same lands used for hunting and foraging for thousands of years.
As the Executive Chef, Mike Robinson brings a traditional approach to contemporary British cooking. The menu is a celebration of his passion for wild food. Marrying the refinement of century old techniques with the very best local ingredients, The Woodsman brings to life the flavours, textures and aromas of the lands that surround the restaurant.
Dating back to 1500, the restaurant and hotel building was used as an Inn between 1655 to 1661 and played host to The Royal Shakespeare Club’s annual dinner from as early as 1824. The next chapter in this buildings rich history takes it back to it’s roots, creating a heritage dining experience where guests are delighted with wild food experiences not found anywhere else in the UK.

We visited the Woodsman last month and it was wonderful. Since we’ve been watching Mike’s show every week on the Outdoor Channel, we enthusiastically added the Woodsman to our England vacation schedule. It was everything that you see in Mike’s videos and then some. Well done sir!
