I make so many mistakes it’s actually to hard to cover them all up 😂🤦🏻♂️ but for real being real leads to amazing growth. Thanks for the comments I just learned the push through method. Game changer
That's why it's a great video...maybe best. I'm 13 years experienced but mostly controlled wiring. Haven't had to bend no EMT for a while mostly ridged...wish more would make the mistake on purpose and show the fix ..I might have to once I get money to spend on pipe instead of living and food
That’s why I went union, every Non Union shop I worked at treated me like shit! Not saying being non union is bad I know some great non union electricians
Thanks - became a journeyman in the city then worked in oil sands for 7 years. After that, took another 7 years off electrical work for personal issues. Just got back into the trade after 14 years off (didn’t do anything practical in oil sands, just cable tray and basic terminations)! A little nervous to be a rather unskilled journeyman although I have installed plenty of EMT before and this will be helpful for me at work tomorrow
I bent the same thing you did at first like 5 times before I was like ok something ain’t right!!! Had to watch a TH-cam video how to use a conduit bender lol good times! Hope all is well!
8 years in the trade. Majority has been running rigid, I was always taught to avoid saddles like the plague. I’m on a massive commercial sight and they beat the saddle drum and they are all over the place. They act like it’s a prize skill
Great video - Charging stations are going to require a lot of conduit bending and going around obstructions. Also, it's great to see you admitting you made a mistake. We are all human. Again - Great Job
The Notch is the center of a 45 degree angle and where all 3 point saddles should be bent from on the center mark. The long part of the star is the back of a 90
I'm going to give you credit because you're probably the first person to show when you made a mistake and admit you didn't know what you were doing at the time, so I'm guessing you're somebody that we do want to learn from
Yeah I should have finished the video for a refresher but didn't finish the full video and was like damn it what am I doing wrong then finished video and was like damn it . Been a long time since I had to run emt mostly rigid conduit at a steel mill. But got thanks for the video
Please please answer me I'm really very confused, that how to know which degree we need in offset or 3 point or 4 point saddle? 10" 22" 30" or 45" If i want to make 35" inches offset how much degree should i need or if i want to make 3 point saddle for 1 inch conduit how much degree should i need?
It depends on how far you need to offset, how much room you have to peform the offset, and how much allowance you have in your bends before your next pull box. You can't add up to over 360 degrees between pull points, and over 180 is going to make the pull difficult depending on how full the run is. So if you don't have far to offset and you have the room, a lower angle will result in a straighter run to pull wires through. If you don't have a lot of room to get the pipe offset over or to clear your obstacle, you'll need to use a steeper offset to make it fit. For saddles, 45 degrees for the center bend is the most common.
always 2.5 for a 45 degree saddle, regardless of the size of the conduit. If you use a bigger angle to jump a larger object, you'll need a different multiplier and shrink rate. For a 60 degree saddle, the multiplier is 2.0. Most of the time, you'll want to use a 45 so, 2.5 is the only multiplier you need to remember for saddles.
For the center bend, line up the mark with the notch on your bender. The two outter makers line up with the arrow but make sure the mouth of your bender is facing the center line.
@@adamdemartinis72 send me your email and I’ll send you my license number… jumping on others for trying, regardless of skill level, is a massive problem in the trades. Thanks for pointing out the basics ✌️#ImSureYoureOnReddit
@@empoweredkc sorry not sorry. You shouldn’t be posting how to videos and not even explaining what the notch is and why it is important. Like the guy above me said it’s not “whatever” for a Master Craftsmam. Maybe for the DIY’r
@@adamdemartinis72 don’t be sorry just go do something meaningful. In 2015 I took the jump and started a company that now employees over 70 people. I make these videos to help up and coming electricians that don’t have great leaders to look to. And every dang time there are trolls like you that chirp away. Cool dude you’re right, the center bend is on the notch. Thanks so much for that thoughtful expliantion. It’s hard to talk and show and film and explain… I’m sure you know that.
I like your explanation & free thinking, but your pipe looked like shit because you didn’t use the notch. It’s not the STAR. Stars are only used for b2b 90s. Not for saddles. You’re always supposed to use the rim notch for the first bend & not the arrows. The only thing it’s used for is the first bend of a 3 point saddles & should be on both sides of your bender. That little indention right after the star is your rim notch.
The final product doesn’t look half bad at the end of the video. We make the necessary corrections😂 Not gonna lie, Its been a while since I’ve done a saddle but wanted to try and get something helpful out there. Thanks for your explanation on the notches and stars❤❤
wow he actually showed his mistake and how it happened, so helpful. Great video!

Push through method is superior to me ..star , notch, arrow.
Thanks for showing me how to do this. My own company won't even properly teach me without putting me down for not understanding "common sense"
yeah! how dare you not know how to do something that you've never done before!
Kinda sad how just about all companies run like this

I respect that you kept the mistake as a part of the video. It's actually helpful to also SEE what happens if you make a mistake. Good video man.
What a life saver the only video that shows proper explanation visually and verbally. Thanks u so much I’m looking forward to your other videos
Great simple way of explaining 3 point saddle bend. Thanks a million dude!
I saw the mistake the first time but bro i freaking love the video right on showing what happens when not bending the 45 on that notch
Love your videos man! I’m an apprentice electrician and I’m learning a whole lot with you! Keep it up
Thanks a ton. Hope you have a killer weekend my friend ❤
@5:30 ...that sigh made me lose my sheit 😂😅 i know that feeling AF... TIME TO FIX THAT DOGGY ...
Sheesh..just saw the rest got more than a leg problem... fixable though 😂😂

This video is great. Catching yourself and showing the mistake and fix is 👍🏼. Common mistake. Good recovery!

I've been waiting for the 3 point saddle vid I struggle with those
If you watch the whole video you will see the right and wrong way to do it 😂❤
The star is for back 90s not saddles , and the notch right before the star I thought was for saddles ?
Correct - he somewhat highlights that after mentioning the star
I bend centerline 3pt on star.. I've learned that like almost 8 years ago.. I like this guy he's knowledgeable and explains very well

Lmao I was watching the first bend and I'm like I don't think that's gonna work. Unless he know something I don't. Lol. Awesome tyou left that on
Been awhile since i bent one needed a refresher Sweet and simple thanks brother
This is what got me the other day lol. Been a while since I ran pipe stuck on underground s for the past 2 yrs lol
Awesome Video

Hey thanks for the encouragement. When we started the channel and the company for that matter, never envisioned it growing like this! ❤️❤️❤️
So first bend at the star & the other bends at the arrow?
Your Center bend needs to be on the notch (on Ideal benders). The outside bends are on the arrow with the mouth facing the centerline. Great Question.
First bend on a 3-point saddle is at the notch always … I was confused watching this until he fixed it 😂
The Notch is the center of a 45 degree angle and where all 3 point saddles should be bent from on the center mark. The long part of the star is the back of a 90
@3:20 the 2.5 is applying only on This size of EMT or any size of EMT?
I believe it’s any size, no just 1/2”. Feel free to look it up to verify though
Good video, thanks!
thought i was about to learn something wild as soon as you bent the first one lol

Is there a way to contact you i have in interesting pipe bending dilemma want to see if you can answer it
can u do a 4 point pls???
I bent 1 " using shrink and didn't have to cut the pipe. If you get it, its time saving
Surprised he showed the mistake that is cool he did that give him props
i was like oh oww when he did the first bend lol
Yeah... I figured it out just a little too late lol. Glad the video showed the good and the bad.
Is the multiplier always 2.5 no matter what size conduit you are bending?

I did the exact same thing today
Well hey I bet you figured out where you went wrong and are gonna kick butt tomorrow 👏👊
I like the fact you made a mistake. For me that’s the learning curve that stuck
Nice 😆
So the 1st time for the middle bend you do the star. Then for the other 2 you use the normal line at the end of the tool right?
For the center bend, line up the mark with the notch on your bender. The two outter makers line up with the arrow but make sure the mouth of your bender is facing the center line.
You must’ve got the arrows with a notch confused..
Judging by the pipe one End is longer than the other
Dude the notch and star and two different marks bro, its not "whatever" you call it, ones the center of bend, the other is back of a 90....
Why do you have to be so mean?

This will work only for 3 point saddles in 1 pipe run but, if you have a 90 degree bend or offsets, shrink is needed in the calculations..
1st bend is on the notch slick
Are you doing ok Adam?
Like how you're pouches are used
