Two very talented people have put together a Dream Sewing Room. Please tell Keith he can gladly add his ruler racks to the Power Tools with Thread store. Keeping my TOOO many rulers safe is a problem and your racks look like a real problem solver.

🤩Beautiful🤩 This is my favourite sewing room makeover by a country mile - love that it is so light, bright, functional, clean looking and modern. It must be a joy to work in. I am in middle of organising my space which is in a cabin in my garden, it is multi functional, so is a relaxing space, exercise hub and sewing room combined. You have given me so many ideas for storage, I was looking at the ikea drawers and it was good to see how useful they are for organising sewing items 🧵. Have only just found you so will enjoy looking through your past videos. Totally in awe of how talented and professional you and your husband are. Love your presenting style too, so positive cheerful and full of joy. All the best for 2022 from England.

Can I just say, I am green with envy. My sewing cabinet is one my husband made about 35 year ago and it has a lift in it. I ordered the lift and when it came, I told hm I needed a cabinet to put it in. He designed and made Iit such that went it is all folded up, it looks like a buffet in the dining/sewing room. I now have my own sewing room but am still using the same cabinet.

Your "Good Luck Chicken" is actually a "Fertility Chicken" from the Azores. They're a Portuguese group of islands in the middle of the Atlantic. The Spaniards tried to occupy them at some point in medieval times and legend has it that the chickens drove the Spaniards back into the sea. We lived in the Azores from 1987 to 1989. I went there infertile and left with two babies. Our sponsor had put it in the house when they furnished it. I got pregnant apparently the day I hit the island, had my baby, went back to the states for a visit when she was 12 weeks and got pregnant the day I hit the island the second time. I've never seen anyone have one in a video. If you've got teenage girls, keep it locked up! Lol. So cool. Love your giant space.

My grandmother used to say that all the time when she'd tell me to put my toys away. It's a mantra that runs in my head. It's why you don't see stacks of things anywhere. I like clean flat surfaces and if I have things out, they are organized and with a purpose to be out until they are finished. I pick up the room every night before bed. Thanks for watching!

Wow I am so jealous. You are way more organized than I am. My sewing room is a converted bedroom . We live off grid in the mountains. My longarm does not fit in my room. It lives in our old cabin which isn't connected to our solar power system so when I'm long arming I have to run a generator and if it is winter I also have to pre heat the cabin by getting a fire going in the wood stove. So I usually get a few tops ready to quilt just to make quilting a more efficient. Love your room ❤

Awesome room Becky. I am so jealous! My room is much smaller and my sewing/cutting/small ironing mat table is smaller than your cutting table. I have a lot of IKEA pieces as well. My table is IKEA with two drawer sections, placed side by side on one end supporting the top of the table on that end, where I do all my cutting. Each drawer unit has two rows of 8 drawers. I have a Brother Dream Machine which I use most of the time for sewing and embroidery. I also have a smaller Brother 600Q, a serger and (mostly recently purchased) a featherweight that can be placed on the other side of the table, opposite my Dream Machine. Most of the time they are stored under the table and I use that space for a small pressing place. The really nice part of my sewing room is that it has a nice big window for good light and looks out on a lake. Peaceful! I do have a large ironing table which my husband and I made that goes over our pool table outside of my sewing room. It is about 4’x5’ and being on the pool table I can work on 3 sides and there is still room on the other end of the pool table to use to lay out fabric and projects as they get larger. It is big enough to lay a quilt out to baste before quilting which I am just beginning to do thanks for the new JuJu patterns and your video on End-to-End quilting. In fact there is a quilt on the pool table right now that I am getting ready to quilt. It will be the first picnic sized quilt for me. I have only done a couple of smaller ones to practice. The pool table is covered but all can be removed quickly if someone wants to play a game of pool. Your husband is so talented and it is great that he makes custom furniture for you. That is so handy! My dad did that kind of work his entire life and we have many, many of the beautiful pieces that he made. I also have my mothers Singer sewing machine that she got (an upgrade from the treadle machine where I first learned to sew) when I was about 10 years old. It is an amazing machine that Singer came out with…..the first early decorative stitching machine with the “cams” that were used to do the decorative stitches. I LOVE it! It has the most perfect stitch every single time! My dad made the cabinet that it is in. He also made a small cabinet with drawers on wheels that stores neatly under table part of the cabinet on the left side for storage. So the cabinet itself is about 45” wide with the sewing machine on the right end with room for fabric to be while you are sewing on the left so it doesn’t just hang off the edge of the cabinet. It is a nice generous size. I had to put this machine and cabinet in one corner in our family room. So I use it rarely. But it is so nice to have it with all of those memories of sewing as a kid and teenager. Made a lot of my own clothes back in those days. Love your room Becky and I know you spend many many happy hours there creating!

I also buy large and extra large dollar tree bags for fabric projects and fabric storage. This way I can seal them and see inside.

What an amazing set up, it’s so neat and tidy. You’re hubby is a godsend when it comes to customising your furniture. I’ve rearranged my sewing room 3 times now, about 12 months apart each time and of course ask my grown up children to pop over and give me a hand with the heavy stuff and to give me their input. They are never impressed with the idea so it tends to get rushed, and of course not always as functional as I’d like. I’ve been told to ‘never’ move anything again. Bee I wonder why?

I realize my husband cannot build anything like that, but boy I have a wonderful idea of what to do now. Thank you for the tour, I have so many ideas working in my head now, I am sure my husband will run the hide with all my new ideas :)

You can tell a lot of thought and trial arrangements went into your new space… It kinda tickled me that I don’t see thread racks on the walls…. I don’t use them either. My sewing, embroidery and serger threads are all in drawers away from sun and dust collecting. Thanks for the tour; as always - fun to spend time in your sewing room!

I used to have thread racks on the walls and oh what an absolute mess. Threads hanging everywhere collecting dust and most of all dog fur. We have solar shades on the windows so I'm not as worried about the sun, but as you can tell, I have a tendency to leave thread spools all over the place. I like my containers so "Everything has a place. Everything in its place." And that applies especially the thread! Thanks Marilyn!
