Your sewing room set up is so practical and realistic. Truly great ideas I could actually use. I watched many others, very few actually helped. This one is a gem. I’m so looking forward to reorganizing my sewing and craft space so it works for my sewing and creative habits. Thanks a million for this wonderful video.
Thank you for your kind words. This is the first sewing room I’ve truly loved working in. I get excited when I sit and sew :) good luck on your organization!!
Thank you for this tour. After watching I ordered a Flexispot table and the chair that you use. I am short and realized a conventional sewing cabinet would not work for me. The Flexispot is just perfect for my needs. I am so happy. Thanks
Loved your simple solution for the embroidery units. I have two embroidery machines and have never found a place for them when I am not embroidering. Thank you.
Just google Flexispot and your country. If YES it will come up. If not another alternative is IKEA has a height adjustable table that might be easily gotten. Oh good luck I hope you find one
Oh, Sue that was so fun, but since I have been sewing for over 60+ years...I can't even begin to put my fabric into those tiny cubes. Some of my cotton fabric is vintage now...but I love each one. I do like the white multi-drawer furniture piece. I may have to check that one out...Again you did a great job on this one...you are getting better with each one.

I love those boots. Lol. It’s not cold here in Florida very often so I gotta wear my winter clothes when I get the chance. I found those boots at DSW last year on the clearance rack.
So many great ideas here - thanks for taking the time to share and post product links. I like how you and your husband planned out what you needed. My room is part planned and the rest still to be done where I have improvised what I have already but it works for me and my alterations business. Thanks again - this is definitely in my saved library!
I had the same issue with not being able to get the center leg for my IKEA table. I bought a wood leg from Lowe’s and a bracket. Painted it white and you would never know it wasn’t the real deal. The pilot holes are already in the underside of the table top. Just be sure to use short screws. The leg is positioned far enough back that it does not impact moving between machines at all.
I have the same table from Ikea, although I don't use it for crafting but rather for my office work. As to the table top bowing, add a piece of 2X2 lumber underneath between the two sets of drawers. It will provide extra support and help keep the table level and not be in your way. Love the wallpaper. Love the artwork on the wall. What an awesome area to be creative in.
I bought one of those tables that goes up and down at IKEA. It’s a great product, especially for me because I can use it for many different purposes. I also have a large Martelli table that also goes up and down and it’s where I do all my large fabric cutting. I need these cause. I’m tall so using these desks/tables prevents back problems.
I couldn't wait to watch this Sue! I have been planning to do a similar video but I never feel like my sewing room is ready. You have so much stuff😃!!!! 😍 Your pink sewing machine is my favorite....one day I hope to get my hands on something similar.
Thank you so much, can you imagine that I found this on a Facebook group for only $20! However we did have to drive a long ways to get it, we definitely spent more than $20 in gas getting it but I’m so happy I have it now. I can’t wait to see a tour of your sewing space :)
Right now I have everything out on peg boards and shelves so I can see everything. I seem to get lost with drawers. But my sewing room is very busy. No clean lines lol

Original problem started 2005. Sewing is difficult, especially when two grandchildren are pretty desperate for me to make them clothes, they love fabric, thankfully very understanding 5 and 6 yrs old who look after me when Daddy is at Football and I have to be in bed, just so lovely!
After a hectic day but fun day, in my sewing room, I get to hand quilt and watch you. I want you to know that I think you always have such great content on your channel! Thank you for posting this.
Thank you for the tour, your sewing room is amazing! I love your machine embroidery area where you but the Alex drawers along side with the table top, I want to do the same and wonder if you think is a good idea to but two multi needle embroidery machines on there, I am in process of finding a good area for both of my machines (Babylock intrepid and alliance) and found you on TH-cam. Thank you in advance for your time!
Thank you for your kind words, I love my room too :) I probably could secure the wide rolling Alex draws underneath really good, in fact, you can't see it but under my table top and above the two wide Alex drawers are two reams of paper to help support the table top from "dipping". I usually keep an embroidery machine on the top in the center (between the bookshelves) and if you are talking about keeping the multi needle on top on either side, I think the weight will easily be supported, but, something to consider that I didn't is leg room. When I use my serger sometimes for filming in the middle in front of the dressform flower picture, there is no room for my legs...so something to consider. If you want to email me I can show you more photos or help out with more answers. Here to help info@sookiesews.com
@@SookieSews Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me! I will email you for sure as I am having trouble finding a place for my two machines, I will explain more in the email!
I met you today at Chestnut Ridge sewing. I watched you talk about the software and after I left your area was looking at things in the store. My friend and I went outside for ice cream. Called my husband about software, so when I came back inside I bought the software. I will tell you, you are nicest salesperson I have ever met. And I’ve been around long time. Lol Thanks for your kindness and all of your help. Never change, and I believe you will meet lots of nice people. Again, thank you. I took and turned a spare bedroom into my sewing/craft room. Love yours
How sweet of you to say. I share with folks what I love to use and never show off anything don’t believe in. Oh and the shipping is all taken care of ;)
I love your sewing space! Have you thought about attaching an L bracket to the wall and in the middle section of your table? You won't lose leg space. Maybe that might help.
Wow, you have way too many machines lady! Do what I did and get Baby Lock. I have an embroidery/sewing combination machine and the Triumph which is an 8 thread serger and cover stitch machine all in one!
Lol! It’s funny because I’m a BERNINA girl through and through but I did something similar. I got the new BERNINA L890 and it spins circles around my others. Glad you found a machine to make your heart happy too ❤️😊
You are so patient about those awful cabinet drawers. Warning to those who are considering buying them: I have the same style of ikea cabinet (I think it's called "Alex,") and they're a terrible design, even though they seem perfect at first glance. Why? Because the drawers don't pull out all the way -- inches of space are lost in the back -- and small things get lost in the abyss or you have to remove something else to slide the back contents out. I would not recommend them for anything. Also, it seems the only way to actually remove the drawer would be to take the whole cabinet apart. Most drawers have a way to lift and jiggle to remove the drawer, but if these can be removed (so you can reach stuff in the back), I haven't figured out how to do it. Thanks for the great tour!
Good points Vic and I never even noticed that until you just mentioned it about the drawers not pulling all the way out. It is annoying. I love the design and set up but we’ve had some issues. My husband finally fixed the table top for me with some Alien tape and now the table top is perfect. It’s never going anywhere though, so glad we got it right lol. When we do the 2023 tour we’ll be sure to mention it. Again thanks for your comments :) glad you gleamed some inspiration.
@@SookieSews thanks for your reply and I hope it doesn't bother you too much now that I've pointed it out! I got the tall version of that cabinet to use for my sewing supplies by my machine. I had been using one of those bamboo framed carts, with plastic bins that pulled out on little wooden rails. The ikea cabinet just looked so much nicer. But I'm gonna switch back to the plastic bin rack because the cabinet, even though it's bigger and taller, doesn't hold as much, and I can't reach much of what is in there. I guess it would be useful for long items only, that you can see from the front of the drawer. I really hope they redesign this piece because otherwise it would be perfect. Good luck with your new space! I love all your machines!
Sue I really enjoyed the tour. My husband is trying to set me up with a sewing room. How big is your sewing room? I maybe taking over the guest room. 😊
Thank you!! Yes, Flexispot said they are having issues getting parts for it but will have it back in April or May so stay tuned. Make sure your subscribed to my newsletter and I’ll let everyone know :)
Love the idea with IKEA 2 sizes storage with hidden place for light pad..I thinking where I will hide it when I will order one big one so do t get damaged... you sort my problem . Costers will help maximize space when you work ,sew or clean ...I will not do system what cannot be regularly cleaned. No matter how I organize, I have trouble finding things. Like I would have that room, I’d need that little clover iron and I’d have to open the 25 drawers to find it.
😆 if my room wasn’t off the living space then I’m sure I could leave things out more 😆 but I try to keep things tidy and yes, remember where I put them all
@@SookieSews oh I prefer things put away but whether away or out I’m constantly looking for something. I also never manage to put things back where they belong so that’s also part of the problem.
I love your channel! Where did you get the bar on your sewing table? I assume it's to help with larger pieces. If so, can it handle the weight of a quilt?
Love your set up!! What size is the flexispot cutting table? Do you think you could put 4 Machines 2 on each size with enough room? I would only be using 1 at a time. Thank you :)
Do you find your Flexispot sewing table being wobbly?? Flexispot prices have gone up a lot since you bought yours. But I wish they were wider like 30 inches and at least 60 long. Iove you sewing room. I especially love you sewing table. I love that it lifts up and down.
Watch the original videos on me putting them together and doing wobble test. They do not and as for size, follow the link to the Flexispot page and alter the sizes. There are many sizes. My next one will be the 79”x30”
@@SookieSews Thank you Sookie, I read that the drop can handle a 20 lb machine my is 31lbs. and not recommended. I do love the drop in this table so much. But I can't afford to buy a new machine at the same time
@@mightymouse2098 Got it, maybe this will help. I have two Flexispot tables. This is the larger one (ideal for heavier machines but doesn't have a drop down) th-cam.com/video/g7A0YlJa1fQ/w-d-xo.html and here is the "Sewing" table with the drop down (doesn't sound like a good fit for your needs) th-cam.com/video/-b2OWNDPB1Y/w-d-xo.html Watch the videos and see, but something to know about Flexispot, they have lots of options. So when you choose, let's say the larger table, that one can come in many colors and sizes and weight options. Just take your time looking at them all, oh and things come and go I've noticed due to supply and demand. But if there is anything I can do to help you, feel free to email me too. Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. Oh no I didn’t mention that at all. So sorry!! The small two pictures are vintage, the dress form was from AllPosters here www.allposters.com/-sp/Dress-Form-and-Peonies-2-Posters_i16286873_.htm and the large peonies was from IKEA :)
Hello Sookie, I was wondering how long did it take you to come up with this layout? did you draw it out first? did you move it around several times? did you not like it the first time? or did you adjust and make it work?
Over the years of living in other places (and this one) I’ve done different things. Honestly this is probably the 3rd layout in this apartment and it’s stayed the same for two years now. I love it. I’ve lived a few things around but for the most part it’s the same. It hit works :) I still wish I had more space but wishing doesn’t make it happen lol. Planning for being efficient works better :)
I have to stop watching your videos. Lol I hopped over to Amazon and bought that little rolling cart. All of my ironing supplies are kind of on the floor under my ironing board so this will be perfect!
Lol! Well by now you know that I only show the things that I really really love so when you buy something you have my reassurance that it is good quality stuff. Thank you for always being a loyal viewer.
I just found your channel last night. I need a sewing table for my small sewing room/office and I like the set up you are showing at about 3 minutes into this video. How did you secure the tabletop to the two storage cabinets? Thanks
We just rested it on top but it moved a lot back and forth so finally we ended up putting Alien tape to hold it flat. It does require Teo ppl to do this though so make sure you have help.
@@SookieSews Thank you! I was thinking if I slide my sewing machine around it might cause a problem. I’m leaning toward one of the Flexispot tables now.
They are not IKEA. We Couldn’t find anything for my Kia that worked for us, in fact we did try a couple of shelving units but they were just too heavy, so I ended up getting those at Amazon, but they might be unavailable right now, scroll down in the description and look for the link that says bookshelves
I’ve never heard anything one way or another however if the zippers are metal, and you’re in a damp climate then I’d say in the drawers might be better.
Oh good question. My ribbons are all tossed in a box. No rhyme or reason but I’ve seen a couple of storage ideas for ribbon on Pinterest. Just do a quick search there :)

:)
I've been waiting for this tour!!! Great video, and I love how you've set up your space. You made my day!
Right now I have everything out on peg boards and shelves so I can see everything. I seem to get lost with drawers. But my sewing room is very busy. No clean lines lol
Sounds like an exciting sewing space!
Would love to learn more about the cameras and lighting. great video.
Beautiful room! May I ask about your gorgeous floral wall art?
Sure. There is a link for it in the description. But maybe not available anymore.
Amazing
Great sewing room and tour. I wish you had a big panorama of the room because I know it is beautiful, but I couldn't see it all.
That’s a great idea, we can certainly work one up. Make sure you are subscribed to my weekly mailing list so you can see when we publish it. sookiesews.com/sign-mailing-list/
10.10pm Northern Ireland My sewing space is my Dining Table with fabric stored upright in IKEA boxes Patterns ditto. All other bits and bobs are in salvaged boxes of similar size, new ones not a priority yet! They sit on other 3 chairs and under them until I get energy to sort out a better system, illness struck, urgent operation needed from 1/19 still not done, hope soon as new Consultant who knows I'm getting very down as problem to do with liver kidney and Gastrointestinal. Original problem started 2005.
Sewing is difficult, especially when two grandchildren are pretty desperate for me to make them clothes, they love fabric, thankfully very understanding 5 and 6 yrs old who look after me when Daddy is at Football and I have to be in bed, just so lovely!
This little ones keep you happy I can tell. Sewing happens when life allows it. Get better ❤️🩹
After a hectic day but fun day, in my sewing room, I get to hand quilt and watch you. I want you to know that I think you always have such great content on your channel! Thank you for posting this.
Lovely 😊 thanks for sharing
I’ll be happy to help
Oh and the shipping is all taken care of ;)
I like your studio
I love your sewing space!
Have you thought about attaching an L bracket to the wall and in the middle section of your table? You won't lose leg space. Maybe that might help.
I had not thought of that, what a GREAT idea!! Thanks 😊
beautiful
Could you please tell me where I could buy a chair like yours?
Sure there is a link in the description- just look for CHAIR. It’s still
Going strong. I love it.
Thank you! Would love to see your video and recording equpment.
Sure thing here th-cam.com/video/4cKXRkH8sks/w-d-xo.html
Wow, you have way too many machines lady! Do what I did and get Baby Lock. I have an embroidery/sewing combination machine and the Triumph which is an 8 thread serger and cover stitch machine all in one!
Lol! It’s funny because I’m a BERNINA girl through and through but I did something similar. I got the new BERNINA L890 and it spins circles around my others. Glad you found a machine to make your heart happy too ❤️😊
Beautiful sewing studio.
Thank you! 😊
Thankyou for the tour. Mi need the wider draws for my overlocker thread too. What make do you have?
You’re welcome. These are the Alex drawers wide. There are links in the description. It makes such a difference. Treat your :)
Sue I really enjoyed the tour. My husband is trying to set me up with a sewing room. How big is your sewing room? I maybe taking over the guest room. 😊
Thank you. Good for you :) the dinning room is 10x12
@@SookieSews thank you for replying
Hi! Just found your channel & sub'd. What a fantastic studio!!! Thanks so much for sharing this and inspiring us. Cheers! Angela

Loved your video and sewing room, but can't find the desk you have your b37 on. I checked the flexi website and don't see that model.
Thank you!! Yes, Flexispot said they are having issues getting parts for it but will have it back in April or May so stay tuned. Make sure your subscribed to my newsletter and I’ll let everyone know :)
Where did the grey sewing chair come from? I love your sewing room.
There is a link in the description that will tell you directly where :)

And I’m so happy this helps!!
@johannechampagne7332 🤣 😆 I get it. I’ve got a few drawers that are mystery drawers. Before next video I’ve got some re-organization to do

What Flexispot desk is that large white one? E2 or E7? Thank you
Large one is E7, sorry for the delay.
I love your channel! Where did you get the bar on your sewing table? I assume it's to help with larger pieces. If so, can it handle the weight of a quilt?
Oh I’m not sure why bar you’re talking about, can you give me a time stamp so I can see.
Love your set up!! What size is the flexispot cutting table? Do you think you could put 4 Machines 2 on each size with enough room? I would only be using 1 at a time. Thank you :)
The large one I have is 55”. Depending on the weight yes you could for more machines and if they are smaller.
I've never ever been so pleased with a table purchase info@SookieSews.com
@@SookieSews I wrote them and they said that right now this sewing table is only available in ONE SIZE. Oh well
Put the leg toward the back in the middle. It will help support some weight but won’t be in the way as much.
Do you have a link for the light on your large Flexisew? Thanks!
Sure thing, thanks for asking, I have updated the description with these links too. Daylight BIG Luminos Lamp amzn.to/3Kh3hp0 or smaller version is Lumi amzn.to/3KihxhB
Wow !! Very nice, where did you get the wall art if you don't mind me asking?
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. Oh no I didn’t mention that at all. So sorry!! The small two pictures are vintage, the dress form was from AllPosters here
www.allposters.com/-sp/Dress-Form-and-Peonies-2-Posters_i16286873_.htm
and the large peonies was from IKEA :)
@@SookieSews Thank you so much!!
What type of top did you get for your large Flexidesk?
The white laminate
@@SookieSews thank you.
You’re very welcome. I LOVE my Flexispot desk
@@SookieSews thank you for your honest response, it is appreciated. God bless
I don't see the site to order the little rolling cart.
Please do check the description, I believe I got it from Amazon
I just found your channel last night. I need a sewing table for my small sewing room/office and I like the set up you are showing at about 3 minutes into this video. How did you secure the tabletop to the two storage cabinets? Thanks
We just rested it on top but it moved a lot back and forth so finally we ended up putting Alien tape to hold it flat. It does require Teo ppl to do this though so make sure you have help.
@@SookieSews Thank you! I was thinking if I slide my sewing machine around it might cause a problem. I’m leaning toward one of the Flexispot tables now.

@@SookieSews thank you so much!
Are the 2 3 shelfs above the four Alex from ikea !!
They are not IKEA. We Couldn’t find anything for my Kia that worked for us, in fact we did try a couple of shelving units but they were just too heavy, so I ended up getting those at Amazon, but they might be unavailable right now, scroll down in the description and look for the link that says bookshelves
What about zippers can they be stored outside or is it better to be in drawers
I’ve never heard anything one way or another however if the zippers are metal, and you’re in a damp climate then I’d say in the drawers might be better.
@@SookieSews ok thank you 😊
I have a lot of ribbons to store but I don't know how to do. I don't find the ideal storage for that.
Oh good question. My ribbons are all tossed in a box. No rhyme or reason but I’ve seen a couple of storage ideas for ribbon on Pinterest. Just do a quick search there :)
@@SookieSews Yes I have seen that... I will try to find the best solution. I have a cabinet and I would like to create drawers but it's not so easy to do... It's not the easy solution.
Does Flexispot still sell the sewing table?
Yes follow the links
Where is your fabric?!
I showed that too. In backseat behind the couch!
I am just mystified as to how many sewing machines some women have..... I am a sewing instructor and have been a quilter and heirloomist and i have 3 sewing machines...and a serger. I really need to sell my serger since I hardly ever use it. One sewing machine is my $75 Brother that I take to class.
