    GM. What a wonderful room. Love how you did the outside. Loved to see the windows and the seating area. Bet Mom really enjoys being in the room while you are sewing and making utubes. Loved the area where you have for the longarm and the quilt ladder. What a great way to use the ladder. Now when the quilts are quilted do you have a special place to pile them until Mom does the binding? Guess the next big project is a garage to keep the vehicles out of the winter storm. Have you set a date for your parents to move in yet? It will be neat to see MaMa Nancy. You are so lucky to have your mom and then she will be close and no more traveling. Have a great weekend and thanks 4 sharing

    • @sewbecca
      @sewbecca  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's an ottoman behind mom's chair that holds all the quilts that need to be bound. It's getting pretty thick! We don't get much snow in this part of the country - and if we do, everything shuts down and it's gone in a day or two. I think our next project is doing a lovely deck in our yard. :). Parents are moving in Spring 2023!

    Becca, This was just wonderful. I love so much about how you've got things set up. I've done a lot of the same things in slightly different ways. And I collect "tacky" magnets. They're going to be on the inside of my kitchen cabinets as soon as I cut the metal inserts for the doors. I love your inspiration walls. I've covered my wall spaces with my cross stitch and cross stitch I've rescued from thrift stores. Your outdoor views are phenomenal. I have a view of the hills of East TN. Thank you so much for sharing. Thank you for inspiring me and so many others with your joy and enthusiasm. ❤

    • @sewbecca
      @sewbecca  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, not really. My fabric isn't pre-washed, and most fabric processes include chemicals that help prevent some amount of dying. Additionally, the windows in my studio aren't facing any direct sunlight - so I think we'll be ok.
      As for dust, I just dust every few months. :)

    I use bins for my projects too, only mine are a bit larger bins because some of my quilts I work on are huge and i like to fit all my finished blocks in there as well as my binding, and backing for the quilt. I also keep a progress sheet in ea. bin, and if I have to order anything I keep a copy of what I ordered, when and from where, so I know why that project is on hold. At my age I forget things easily. Organization is the key. Seeing everything is so important to choices. I need to get my fabrics in orders. I have large plastic bins containing fabrics. They are too heavy for me to handle now. Not good. Need to reorganize.
    You have a very very beautiful studio. Love your windows giving you natural light. Your views are so relaxing. Nature is wonderful.

    Hi Becca..how do you keep your new sewing area clean 😂

    • @sewbecca
      @sewbecca  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha - I go in fits of tidiness and chaos. After I make a few things, I take time in my sewing room to tidy things up - usually in between projects. I find - for me - I'm more inspired to create when my place is tidy and organized. But when I'm actually making something, it's a disaster!

      @@sewbecca I understand that. :) Dusting all of those shelves would give me a pain but looking at all of the projects I want to do would make it worth it. It is a beautiful space and I'm envious. Thx for getting back to me. I think of the strangest things lol🤗🧵

    Becca, I love the quilts on your wall. How do I find small quilt patterns like this? Is there a name? I don't want miniature quilts with tee-tiny pieces but small quilts that can be finished quickly. Thanks.

    • @sewbecca
      @sewbecca  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robin! I have patterns for a couple of wall quilts that you can check out on my website (www.sewbecca.com). You can also just search for wall quilt patterns on Etsy - or just make a single block and quilt it and hang it up!

    Good Morning Becca, Wow, I adore your quilting studio, who wouldn’t man, it’s perfect. It makes me feel happy for you and I like that. ☺️ I really enjoyed seeing your space. I have a nice “mini space” 🤣😂🤣 to work and create in that is working much better than what I had prior. Have a wonderful weekend. 🥰 Chris

    Hey, Becca! Your Quilting Studio is SUCH an amazing space! I’m so glad that you were able to successfully transform your garage into the workspace you had envisioned. As always, I love your tips. I’m definitely going to get a few of the small binders for my quilting and bag making patterns! Thanks for sharing!
    Take care, and stay well!

    Hi Becca !
    Your studio is lovely !
    The only thing I don’t care for is the carpet. I have carpet on mine too and it’s a pain in the butt. Thread sticks to it, even small pieces of fabric, so hard to keep it clean.
    I want a hard floor for myself but that’s just my choice and opinion. 😉
    Best wishes to you.

      The carpet was a very deliberate choice - but, if I didn't have the TH-cam channel...it would not have happened. It's a lot to deal with, for sure!

    I love your studio, and I’ve watched so many tours, but you had some great ideas which solve some problems I’m having just now. I’m having trouble with organizing projects I’ve started or will start after I finish gathering all the pieces, tools, etc. so thanks so much! I have a Martelli cutting table too, and I love being able to raise or lower it as needed. I never had back pain anymore!

    Becca! What a dream come true probably for most of us quilters. It is gorgeous! You have given me a few great ideas. The binders for all of my patterns. Perfect. I have the very same Sterilite containers as well. My space is a good chunk of our dining room. We don't use it being seniors so it's mine. I've begun a make over of sorts as well. I only quilt so don't need extra space for other crafts. The view and light are great most of the time. Summers have been smoky like now. A wildfire is burning across the hwy on the other mountain range. We're on an evacuation watch now. It kills me to think of all my beautiful fabric and Juki going up in flames😱 Nothing I can do about it though. Praying for the best🙏. Thanks for your dream studio tour. It is just what I'd have if I could 🧵🙋
