Picked these up after a day of trying tons of different training shoes. These were the winners without doing research before hand. Glad to confirm this is a well regarded shoe.
Just received my pair after purchasing them after this review. Great and comfortable shoe! The comparison to the Nano 6 is surprisingly true. Also feels padded like the Nano 8 on the collar!
Have to really disagree on these here. This shoe feels really off. Yes, it has a 2MM drop, but it also has a thick forefoot, and it makes it feel as if the shoe as a negative drop, I didn't even know that was possible. Your heel is pushed down, while your forefoot is raised. The second I put them on, it was a hard "nope." Just get a pair of Nanos.
I’m currently using the Reign 4’s and I really like them. Everyone at my gym had either the No Bull’s or Nano’s, and even though I hated my last pair of Under Armor’s (like 10 years ago) I just couldn’t show up looking like I was copying anyone lol. Will definitely stick with the Reign lineup when I need another pair.
I went with the same size in the 5’s as my 4’s, and I actually feel the 5 is a little bigger. How many sessions do you feel it took to break in your 5’s? I can’t remember how it was with my 4’s and I’m hoping it’s just part of the break in process.
Ooof do you have any recs for how it compares to the Tyr CXT-1? They both sound amazing... I have the Rad Ones and am just looking for a complementary pair. Love your reviews!
I tried them on at UA, even going up a full size 10-11 they still don’t fit me correctly. I love the look but the 4’s are way better for me. I still wear a 10 in the Metcon 8 as well. Makes you realize how different we all are. Nice review though
Do you have wide feet? I do and I tried on the Metcon 8 at Nike and it fit me better than the Reign 5. That's surprising because YT reviewers always say Metcon 8 don't fit wide.
@@NikhilonYT I've got wide feet and with nikes and metcons I need to size up since they run so narrow. UA's fit perfectly without knowing anything about the brand specifics. Plus, they have more stability and flat feet feel that I like for weightlifting.
I need a lifting shoe that can support a 30 min post workout incline treadmill walk - are these going to be ok for short treadmill walks? (30 mins tops)
@@AMRAP sounds like a reasonable answer 🤣 my major complaints about the nano 6 were little to no cushioning and the feet felt really loose inside the shoe when lifting... they always kinda felt just clunky to me 🫤 I must be 1 in a million. Lol
@@rycohen22 that’s interesting. These shoes bear load better than nano 6 but have more cushioning. I think they’re worth a shot and return if you don’t like them.
@@AMRAPthanks for the comment. I have metcon 8s. Great for weights but suck when you have to do short distance runs ( less than 1km). I do cross training so it's a pain having to decide between my metcon 8 or pegasus 40
@@AMRAP Thanks, i'm in the UK and RADs are a little less known it seems, a few of the colourways were sold out but quite a lot still in stock. Managed to pick up some of the Wheat colourways yesterday based on your review of the RADS and wanting to try something different than Metcons/Nanos. Saw this review and wanted to know if i jumped to soon. Glad to know you prefer the RADS. Thanks for all the reviews, you're my first port of call whenever i need new gear.

I love these. I bought the black and red colorway, and once I replaced the laces...amazing
And I agreed, the laces are the only downside of these, hence why I replaced them with flat laces that didn't loosen during my workout
Which laces?
you got me on nano 6, i still love them to this day
I saw these in the store today, it was love at first sight, they should be arriving in 4 to 5 business days
Just got a pair for £58 in the January sales. Winning 👍.
Same 😂
the nano 6 comparison is the real deal. These shoes are comfortable for HIIT and barbell workouts. NO RAGRETS!!
Nano x3 is the best on the market !
I've had 2 pairs of the Reign 4s. I really like them and much better than the recent years of Nanos I've had.
I agree.

@@jackw6259 yeah they’re going to do that no problem
Do you have some reviews of other models bro.hope many under armour review for my content
Do you believe UA will come out with a Pro 5 slip on? Really like the slip on feel on their Pro 4s.
I wear 8 in chuck taylor w/ normal foot (25.5cm,10.15cm wide) should I go 8 or 8.5 in AU reign 5?
8.5
Do the women’s version fit the same width wise?
Reign tribase 5 or project rock 6 ?
Awesome review as always Joel!!
If I disliked the nano6, what are the odds ill also dislike the TBR 5? Lol
Depends what you disliked about them

Loved my Nano X’s for lifting. How would you say Reign 5’s compare?
Probably 80% as good to lift in but overall better as a trainer
Can we wear these shoes for small outdoor runs?
@@abhishekgoud2269 yeah they would be fine for short runs
What brand are the gray sweats/joggers you were wearing?
The brand is called “sculpted”
Have you seen the Strike MVMNT Vimana? Curious how they compare to these.
I have a few pairs...they're trail running shoes so not really the best comparison.
How do you like these compared the Nike Metcon 8s?
Overall I think they’re better. Metcon 8s are something I’d want for a barbell heavy workout though.

would you recommend these over a no bull trainer?
absolutely
How would you compare Haze Trainers to these Reign 5s?
Similar performance though Haze are better for longer runs and TBR are slightly better for lifts.
These are much better built. They really are versatile.
Do these run small or big or true size?
Compared to most, I would say they're small. I've always worn 10's and this year I had to do 10.5.
reign 5 or nano x3 for a nike metcon fan who have every pair of crossfit shoes like you
If you like the way that Metcon 7/8 feel, go Nano X3. If you like the way that Metcon 3/4 feel, go Reign. Personally I’d go reign.
@@AMRAP well, i like both for diferent reason
@@nicolasthifault7532 go with what you like better. Like I said, I prefer reign.
Reebok nano x3 the best on the market ! I have metcon 7 and this is realy shit hiperlyft👎👎👎 I hate metc 7,8 because hyperlift plastic 👎
R.A.D one vs these?
I still prefer RAD but given the fact that they’re more expensive and harder to get, these are a better buy.
