Love the fact that the Lee-Enfield is fired with the "Mad Minute" technique, with the hand's palm operating the bolt after each shot and a resulting very high rate of fire.
Both Battlefield 1 and 5 really showed some serious attention to detail around their featured guns

Great attention to details:
- When reloading the Ag m/42, you can see the safety being toggled for safe reloading. If you don't press the safety while the bolt is open, your thumb will be tortured _worse_ than Garand thumb.
- An improvement from BF1, the Gewehr M95/30 now properly shows the correct amount of remaining rounds during non-empty reloads.
- While it's unnatural for the M1 Garand to not close by itself, it can still happen. If you don't see the right hand within the charging handle, that's Garand thumb. Well done.
- M2 Flamethrower's "reload" is actually ingenious, try to remove the ignition ring and cap with bare hands and you'll get scalded.
- The Frag Grenade Rifle actually uses a Mills Bomb with a gas check plate (a small ring below the grenade body), very important when using the Enfield cup launcher.
- The Grenade Rifles actually use a crimped tip bullet, which is actually a blank .303 cartridge used for firing the grenade.
- M30 Luftwaffe Drilling's rifle bullet is actually a roundnose, you can see the blunt bullet when reloading it.
- You can see the moving barrel shroud on the Type 2A when firing and reloading. Despite the obscure existence of this gun like the Hellriegel, this was also a correctly detailed gun.
- Barrel changing the German MGs are also correct: Using a spent casing to remove an MG42 barrel and flipping the receiver to crack open the MG34 was a perfect attention (yet it's imperfect for the 34 though). The latter's flip-side receiver made it popular for Panzer crews, preferring the 34 over the 42.
- You can notice the German words in the Panzerfaust. These are basically the instructions on how to use it, ideal for those with less training, especially for Volkssturm.
- Type 11's topup specialization is almost similar to Perino 1908.
- Notice how the character holds the trigger on the Lee-Enfield rifles? That's the "mad minute", allowing for faster cycling coupled with the smooth bolt that the Lee-Enfield is known for.
- The suppressor sounds are actually correct: the echo is still present which is realistic. The misinterpretation is that the suppressor silences the sound, which is incorrect.
- The KE7, due to its complex, almost clockwork style of mechanism, allows for both empty and tactical reloads to be similar.
- The 12g reload, while similar to BF1, is actually different. Notice one finger holding something during reloading. This is the bolt release of the Browning Auto-5, and holding it is necessary for pre-1950s Auto-5 shotguns.
- Also, notice the MG34 ejecting spent casings in many directions? The bullets are actually being ejected downwards, as the receiver has a hole that lets spent casings out.
Edit:
- The Type 97 actually uses the real and rare scope along with its mount in-game. This scope was used for coaxial Type 97s in Japanese tanks. In the Japanese tanks in the Pacific, you can see the barrel shroud in the tank's Type 97 machine gun. The scope and the shroud are the vehicle mounted versions of the Type 97.
- The S2-200 has the marking 31M. This is actually the Hungarian variant in 8x50 Steyr, not the 7.92x57 Mauser version as the game's description points out (about it being rejected by the Luftwaffe).
Notice that the striker on the Ross rifle recocks itself for some reason.
This happened on all bolt actions in BF1 in the campaign/story mode but not in multiplayer (that might be backwards, it's been a long time since I played BF1)

1lovesoni It’s a glitch from BF1 where holding the trigger after firing a shot will sometimes recock the striker. I believe it frequently happened if you aimed and aimed out of your sights after firing a shot.

@@Nsodnoajdjksl The Selbstlader M1906 was designed by the very same man who gave the world the P08 Luger, meaning that it was a semi-auto rifle that used the toggle action for cycling ammo.
The problem is that the toggle links had to be made longer than the ones on the pistol, which mean that if one is unlucky, the gun will smack them in the right eye when ejecting a spent cartridge case (especially in the Aimed-Down-Sights mode.)
View the M1906's working in slow-mo and you might see why…

@@BunThighsLol The Nambu Type 94 pistol has an exposed lever on the side that is connected to the trigger mechanism. the gun is prone to misfire because something could accidentally press that lever down. basically you can fire the gun without pulling the trigger and there are rumors of Japanese soldier using this to fake a surrender ( although i doubt an american soldier would even let them hold the pistol while surrendering. let alone point it at the american. or that a Japanese soldier would even surrender )

I like this detail; when reloading a bolt-action rifle mid-clip, he pushes the unfired cartridge back into the magazine with his fingers when opening the bolt.

At 2:40 the liberator pistol you will see that shell of the bullet springs out of the gun while the soldier removes the shell manually
I love that when reloading the M2 the guy actually reloads the ignition caps, such a detail no other game I can think of atm has done that.
In world at war the m2 has just a cool down time in cod ww2 it's a limited ammo capacity killstreak but what's the best part is that instead of just having it spew flames as soon as you fire it you have to light the pryo charge before you pull the trigger which is how it was done in real life this game franchise prides on realism it seems and they are the first franchise that has a game that takes place in ww2 and has the m2 as a weapon to accurately input the weapon and it's firing mechanics in the game most just make it spit fire the moment you pull the trigger but this game has you light a pyro charge before you can fire it which is cool

Notice how the M2 is the post war model with appeature sights and bayonet lug. It also has the head shield normally found on civilian models.
Chances are they modeled it based off of Korean War era M2s and civilian M1s but forgot to make changes to suit the era

Notice how the Gewehr 43 is loaded from the top, despite the fact that the magazine is detachable. Because in reality, German soldiers were taught to load the rifle with two strips of five rounds, as the magazine was intended for emergency situations. Other WW2 games like CoD tend to overlook this detail and I don't blame them.

The gunplay (and the weapons themselves) sound and look absolutely amazing. Hell even the explosions do. There's 2 things I wish they would've done, to make this game better than what it actually is: 1. An extended campaign and 2. Add bots to Multiplayer (and I don't mean that coop bullshit).

Apparently there is a unique barrel change animation for the MG-34's drum mag version, but it isn't used because that specialisation is on the same track as the chrome lining, which reduces heat buildup to the point that the gun will not overheat before it runs out of ammo.

Tbh BFV weapons are the most “Historically Accurate” part of the game (some weapons are form countries that are not present in the game which is not accurate) the person who did the reload animations on the weapons did a good job, unlike Cod WW2 with its abysmal weapons historical accuracy and how they screwed up the MG42 by giving it a very low fire rate even in the campaign which was also terrible at historical accuracy
Funny how COD WW2's vehicle mounted MG42 fires faster than the playable one. They really screwed up on weapon accuracy just for balancing.
I remember the M2 on top of the Sherman tank for some reason fired faster. That game is the worst.
Cod WWII was still enjoyable and I loved the campaign even if it wasn’t historically accurate.
