Thanks Joseph, I caught myself saying ,”go through your little notes “ at work 😂
This made me hoooooowllllll 🤣🤣🤣
The question I have about this film is the motivation of the Fiennes character to NOT give the dad of the deceased the money. There is a scene where they sit and share an apple. The father is clearly hinting that now is the time to offer the money. Even mentioning the exact amount that our protagonist brought. Yes he declines and, instead, says "I am sorry." He then gives the money to his driver, reinforcing that the money was little to him and of no significance. There is a bit of a suicide/accepting fate theme here.
I really wish the ending was different. It would’ve made me think about how right or wrong can be a grey area instead of clear black and white. The actual ending just made me feel like “well, that was a bit pointless, kinda…”
Yep, me too.
“ why don’t you go through your little 📝 notes” 😂😂😂😂
Great stuff guys. I've always been interested in knowing what both your thoughts are on portrait of a lady on fire.
I REALLY like the new music on the podcast 😍
I like Ralph Fiennes.
I think we don´t care so much if David Henninger dies in the end, is because no one cares much about his life. Including himself.
Hmmmm this reminds me of a Paul Bowles story ... something from Their Hands Are Painted Blue ... or The Spiders House - the crazy stories...about artists who the thrive in Morrocco and the outsiders $$ who don't? Maybe a little Sheltering Sky vibe. I will check this out. Thank you for the review :)
Thank you for reviewing this film. I recommend you read the book by Lawrence Osborne. He's an incredible wrter.
Wow I just know the Abby Lee from "Dance Moms" - that would be funny. Great review.
The servant name you mentioned Hamid played by Mourad Zaouj ;)
No one is talking about this film and it's an intriguing duality of character archs for Ralph & Jessica. Thanks for the thoughts guys.
It’s so honest about 3rd world truth and cultures mixed with modern Westerns.
I love the cinematography
Weren’t the kids going to rob or car 🚗 jack them with the gun? “What if they resist. Necessity brother”. Then the friend lied to Driss father about what really happened?
Love me some Ralph ❤️❤️❤️
I love your reviews!
His name is Driss?
From a trailer I saw, the dialogue was stinging between the Henningers - I feel like she's a 'trophy wife.' Also, weird the glimpses of hedonistic lifestyle in Morocco ? Like Joseph suggests "insights into the servants' maybe interesting too! LOL! Nick: "Just these people that clearly they're at the end of the rope, and one of them is fine with the other one dying." Yep, that did come across quite well!
Thanks for the review. I liked this movie overall but really it was slow and just “rich white people doing white things”
The Father made a plan for revenge, but almost let his emotions take the guy out with his knife 🔪
Sounds like an intriguing film.
I also wish it had been longer and felt like there was so much more to explore. I wonder how much 2020 had to do with the lack of depth.
What a story!
This is a very important movie , decadence meets grief and regret but was it enough to appeased a father's loss ?
If the kid was going to rob the couple, he got what he deserved. Let's stop making excuses for degeneracy.
I agree. If that was indeed they’re objective, the ending is curious?
**Warning! This comment contains major spoilers.**
I realize that much of the film's focus was on the hedonistic wealthy vs the poor, struggling locals, but what if David hadn't run over the boy with his car? In no way am I excusing the attitude toward a dead boy and the overt racial discrimination exhibited throughout the movie, but this was a planned robbery (and possible carjacking) gone awry. The main character never knows this, which is possibly why he accepted his fate and shouted "Do it!"
I agree with your opinion on Jessica Chastain being the wrong cast. The character should’ve been played by someone quite a bit older but still like a hot MILF. I love Jessica Chastain though, she’s amazing.
It’s not flaunting IF you consider Muslims in Europe being orthodox.
I agree with your feelings guys, but not that it’s bad if we believe in global village.
We can see the truth of the spiting in the drink… and fear of the gay couple at the end.
I like your reviews and value your opinions on movies, but maybe you should look into making spoiler free versions of reviews, or splitting the videos into spoiler free part and spoiler part. Im starting to avoid your reviews on movies im excited to see because i dont want them spoiled.
That’s an interesting idea to do half not spoiler I like that personally I like the spoiler parts but I can sure see the appeal of half and half
In my opinion that is the appeal of their channel. If it is a movie I want to see I skip to last 30 seconds for the score and come back and watch after. Or I watch for movies I know I won't see
Personally I would be less interested in spoiler free review, that is what vast movie reviews are
