- When I first started trying to conceive, I quickly learned how important it is to understand fertility hormones. No one had taught me about this stuff before so I was in the dark, even as an adult well into my late 30s. But I became super diligent once I realized how vital hormone tracking is to get pregnant, especially since I am advanced maternal age with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR).
Back when trying to conceive naturally, I did the OPK kits every month to see when my ovulation would occur as the lines got darker on the LH strips. I also invested in PdG strips to see if my levels were good enough for implantation during my two week wait. However, I found that they were so inaccurate because the darkness of the lines were relative to the strip, the time of day, lighting, etc. Eventually, I moved onto IVF abroad in Korea after a heartbreaking miscarriage.
When I was first introduced to the Mira Hormone Monitor, I was immediately intrigued because it was solving a problem for me. It showed me numbers, not lines... and with 99% lab-grade accuracy. I really liked that I would be able to check my levels at home everyday to make sure I'm on track, to know when I'm ovulating or nearing a new cycle, and most importantly - I could use it NOW as I'm getting IVF. In a time full of uncertainties, it gives me back some control to be able to track my hormones.
In this video, I am in my 2 week wait after my third frozen embryo transfer where I transferred my last three embryos. My name is Hellynn and live in the US, but I've traveled to Korea (where I'm from) to undergo multiple rounds of IVF. Being 40+ and trying to bring children into the world is hard, but I also have a condition called diminished ovarian reserve, so I've done back-to-back IVF egg retrievals and now have moved onto transfers after banking some embryos.
Navigating this world of infertility is definitely a challenge - a million new acronyms, hormones and protocols to learn - it's a lot. So I thought I'd just talk about everything I've been learning for the women out there who have had similar struggles. I'm also happy to share info with anyone who is interested in traveling to Korea for IVF, since it's much more cost efficient + high success rates here.
I am treating this channel as my diary, talking about the ups and downs of my journey to motherhood so that one day, hopefully, my babies will see how they were created... with fierce, enduring strength and love.

As for progesterone, subcutaneous PIO shots and suppositories too. Started these right after confirming ovulation, since this time it was a natural embryo transfer.

before the max wands were available they have also Mira Fertility Plus Wands Track 2 Hormones (LH + E3G) i would use these from cd 10 to cd 15

Sure! For foreigners it costs an average of $6K USD per cycle but of course varies depending on what you do and where you go. Some boutique clinics (rather than the larger hospitals like the one I go to) will be even more affordable.
You can go to www.bloomkorea.co which is the company I co-founded and our objective is to help guide women in navigating IVF in Korea, so feel free to go there and tell them your budget/what you are looking for, and they will help you find a hospital that is right for you - for free. Just let them know I sent you and they will treat you well and answer any of your questions.
