I've had tamarind juice, tamarind balls and tamarind stew since childhood while living in my parents home country of Antigua. My paternal grandparents had a tamarind tree in their yard. Since living in the U.S I've had tamarind in soups and sauces in Asian cuisines.

We consume tamarind in many ways in our country. In case of tamarind juice we soak tamarind in small amount of water for an hour then smash it to get the pulp out from the seeds and get a thick juice. Then add sugar and green chilli. Blend the thick one with additional water . The juice is ready. We also make instant pickles . Take tamarinds, cut green chili, add salt and sugar n smash it. Its too refreshing. Tamarind is very good for skin, inflammation n hemoglobin production.❤

I've had tamarind juice since I was a kid in Mexico. It's very delicious. In my home town, in the center of town, there are 6 huge tamarind trees.

I didn't know that Tamarind is from Africa. We have been using this in our cooking for ages in South east asia.

I just bought some concentrate in a bottle at Walmart look like juice but it said concentrate makes one gallon so I use the fourth of it to make a quart and it was really good didn't have to add anything to it. It was really easy
