Harper had a limit on the tax and had no plans of turning it into a slush fund Like the Liberal Parasites.
cap and trade was not a tax on the average Canadians, in affected businesses. 2007 Quebec implemented a carbon tax provincially. Liberals in the 2008 election under Stephane Dion, who's platform was on implementing a Carbon Tax for Canada, which was an election he lost. An actual Canada wide carbon tax was not implemented until Justin Trudeau in 2018. What individual Provincial governments did in implementing there own Carbon Tax, Like Quebec or BC for example, had nothing to do with the Federal Government or Stephen Harper.

Most Canadian's benefit from the Carbon tax rebate. It literally makes no sense to get rid of it, as YOU WILL DIRECTLY be getting LESS money by removing this tax.
8/10 households receive more money back than they spend on carbon pricing.
So, unless you are directly polluting a shit ton of carbon, there's an 80% chance that you are benefiting from this tax.

With the carbon tax it costs more to grow food, and produce goods. You end up paying the price for it that way.
