This game is a bang for your buck. You can find them for one of the better priced classic machines. In my opinion a very underrated pin. F14 tomcat is fast paced, gets your adrenaline rushed, super lit up and just a fun addictive pin. Also great looking machine.
Steve Ritchie really created this adversarial type pinball game such as F 14 tomcat, which is probably one of the greatest games of all time, mainly because of the soundtrack. With F 14 tomcat pinball created by Steve Ritchie and the rest of the crew in Williams. It is no longer player versus machine… It is player versus pilot.
That multiball is truly something else. Music, lights, everything about it. Epic. That machine is in truly stunning condition too. Proper 80s scores too: All that effort for just 2.2mil! Newer machines have suffered terrible score inflation. It's like Italian Lire!! ;) Loved this F14 playlist, thanks for putting it together.
This machine is a living proof that pinballs were made to be played in the dark, so beautiful! Ed Boon of Mortal Kombat fame worked in this machine, maybe Steve Ritchie voiced Shao Kahn as a compliment ;)
Great job getting multiball twice! At least it didn't turn out like your Firepower video: "I played F-14 for 2 hrs trying to get multiball" Great video!
Definitely an early model. Upper left red flasher was removed for causing shorts for being too close to the TOM targets. Plus the back white flashers are red in later units. A definitely a nicest one I have seen in years.
Both the upper right, and left red flashers were removed from the game because the stand up targets, when hit were shorting on the lamp sockets causing board damage. You can put the lamps back in and wire them up, adding shrink tubing over the lamp sockets to prevent that from happening. 😎
Wow thats a Awesome Williams classic totally 80's! Love it. Just picked one up so pumped for a game after seeing this, thanks for the cool video as usual.👍
A stunning example of a great game. The LEDs really do give it an extra visual pop. And it's got a great pedigree even beyond Steve Richie's awesome design - the software is by Eugene Jarvis (Defender, Robotron, Crusin' USA) and Ed Boon (Mortal Kombat).
My wife and I played this table on our Virtual Pinball table last night - fun game. My best score so far is 2.54 million. Hoping to improve on that soon.
We had an Alladins Castle Arcade a few hours drive from use. It was my personal favorite Arcade I played at. I can not remember the name of that one game. I spent several twenty dollar bills over the years on that machine alone. House of the Dead was the name. I think I played that machine more than any other. These days Arcades have really gone down hill. They have these predatory cards you have to load credits onto. They have these large attractive games which cost $5 to play and you know your child is going to run right for that machine. I know my nephew did recently at one of those Arcades. I played on around $10 myself playing Skeeball and one of those games you see at fairs where you want to knock the coins off the edge which were $1 for one game of Skeeball or 15 coins to drop trying to knock coins off the edge in the fair game. It was one of those ticket games which load onto the same card you use to load up credits on. I got a bunch of Tootsie Rolls, Swedish Fish, and a Soccer themed marble game. You know the ones where you try to get a small metal ball to go into the U shaped thing.
Interesting to see that it popped the locked balls out..... i guess that is standard with a ball search, you would think it knew were the locked balls were and skip those the first few times.... Since it shoots out a locked ball whenever a new ball enters via the top...(nice feature to see the swap of the balls!)
@@LyonsArcade Of course it would. But it´s difficult. I don´t think it´s enough to hold it on a Flipper when it is energiced. The Ballsearch seems to be pretty complex Anyway! there is a slight chance to lett Mr. Ritchie to EAT his own extremely annoing words in the attractmode: "YOU CAN`T WIN...HAHAHA!". And you showed us in this video that it´s poosible. To those who don´t like your "Play the game" videos: You have some to learn. 🧐
WOW that game is deadly fast!.!.! I wonder what the top speeds are for that big ol ball bearing . I bet it snatched up a lot of quarter's back in the day. I know it got quite a few of mine.
i prefer LEDS. they dont usually burn out, draw less power and dont created destructive heat. they wont destroy backglasses or warp playfield plastics. they also wont burn out wiring connectors, i think having LEDS installed does improve reliability some
That thing looks great. What was your opinion on the playfield protector? Ive always been on the fence about them. Have never seen or played a game in person with one installed.
Tom I don't like to criticize things so I'm the absolute worst person to ask, lol the protector has it's pros and cons, I tend to keep things as original as possible just for personal preference so I'd never put one on myself but I can see why others do.
@@LyonsArcade I traded the high scores back & forth in there for over a year on Tron, and Joust.... I loved those.... That F-14 machine was amazing. That looked like fun.
im tempted to sell my jokerz and buy one of these. i like jokerz, but an F14 would fit in better with my other 2 ritchie pins. i have firepower and high speed. F14 looks like fun

That game in the dark is something else. There's one that one of the local places picked up and he's cleaning it up. This one looks spectacular.
It's pretty fun... we have another one in the shop now that is in much worse shape we'll see how nice we get THAT one...
I agree with you 100% that it looks spectacular.

I love those late 80s Williams Steve Richie games. It just doesn't get better.

That is one beautiful machine, sure this video doesn't do it justice. The Williams factory was blocks from my high school.
Nice machine! 1987 I would have been 19 years old. Cant remember if this one was in the local arcade or not. Man she sure looks great.

I used to slay this table back in my highschool day's. Table was cracking like virgin cherries 🍒

We don't do it per hour, we do it on a job basis so it depends on what needs done, the minimum is usually $150-$200
There is a Stern pinball inc made a roller tycoon pinball machine that in 2002
I've only played that one once, it loooks very fun!
