Found this channel while searching through youtube, im a repair everything guy, and and i loved pinball machines since i was a kid. And thanks to you Ron, i can buy a broken machine and fix it without problem, and i know now where to get parts. Thats just awsome! When im going to the U S in the future, im coming by for a visit!
There's a program out there called Pinball Arcade, and they have this and a bunch of Stern and Gottleib tables you can buy and play on call phones and such. It hasn't been in active development for years, but the last table they added was this one. They actually bought every table they modeled in the game and like with these videos, took them apart to 3D model each piece. I didn't know half these things you showed us like the music select until today. So thank you, and thanks for going to the trouble of filming your work each week.
I read Frankenstein in High School. My teacher was in awe that I read it, and WANTED to read it. The book was written on a dare/bet. I agree, the book was VERY good. The best 2 to ever play Frankenstein's Monster...Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi!
Boris Karloff's 1931 portrayal of Frankenstein's monster is what comes to my mind when discussing the 1818 novel, however the 1994 movie this pin is based on, starring Robert Deniro, as the creature, was closer in story, to the original novel than the Universal Studios B/W Frankenstein movies. I love them all, including Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, which would make a great theme for a pin IMHO. Peace ✌️
I cant see anything wrong with it. Lets just remember you started with a box of bits and pieces and a machine that did not work, you worked your way through stage by stage, and it ended up with a fantastic machine. Loved all the videos, well done Ronnie and Joe👍
We read the book back in high school for sophomore English class. Was really fun because we’d watch the movie simultaneously as we read chapter after chapter. Cool to see a pinball to go along with it.
This is a really fun machine I have played it in a local arcade when it came out. I also have it and have enjoyed it a lot digitally. This was a fun restore to watch and you did a fine job 🎉😊❤
Nice work getting the monster back together Ron ! The guy that owned it did a good job organizing and taking pictures. Especially if another person could put it back together without his input . Will make someone very happy I’m sure ! Another one saved from the heap !
I didn't comment a lot as I had to watch this series in bits and pieces, but WOW! Great job and the machine looks REALLY cool, I never played this table and now I want to! Really great job and Halloween series, thanks guys!!
Excellent game and great work Ron putting it back together. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire series of videos of your work bringing the game back to life.
Hats off to you, Ron, in bringing this creature back to life, as well as the previous owner that made it possible with his excellent photo documentation & bagging of parts down to the last screw. I'm a lifelong Frankenstein fan as well, & after adding both Monster Bash & Munsters to my collection, I recently acquired a nicely restored MSF with a color monitor & Pinsound upgrade with shaker motor. It's a fun game & and yes, that center ramp is killer. Be sure to wear body armor if you score Creature Multiball with the glass off, as his throws often bounce off the glass in my game. I learned a lot about the inner works of my game from this excellent video series. Much appreciation & Happy Halloween from SoCal.
Yousell yourself short Ron. You are a better pinball player than most. You know why. You know how to have fun. I remember playing this game at a Seven Eleven (convenience store chain) n Brisbane, Qld Australia when it was a newish game. I had many hours of fun and lost many coins on this machine
Great job Ronnie bring Frankenstein back to together. Glad you had some fun playing it since you did all that hard work. I hope you got that multi-ball later on. See you on the next video. Thanks for filming Ronnie.
Looks like it turned out great like I knew it would. I should send you the youtube video of my wife's theater thing that she did recently. Thanks for the video series on this one.
Felt like I was watching another epic 9 hour attempt to get multi-ball on Firepower! Nice try, though. An even better resurrection of a pinball. Got to love seeing them come back to life. Looks like a nice machine and well worth the effort.
What an epic series and rebuild. Looks like a fun game to play. Similar to my Rocky and Bullwinkle ramps. If you don’t get it up and around, it comes back down straight through the flippers.
Outstanding work as usual Ronnie. Wow, When you think how this game started with you, and then how it wound up…well it’s just a miracle… The game looks fantastic and plays great too. Excellent plus Ronnie. Thanks for posting and showing us the work involved.
I only read the book recently (late last year) and it was/is excellent. Not what I was expecting, but even better. We always think of the monster as the bad guy, but its really Dr. Frankenstein that is the bad guy. Not a big pin ball player myself. Too clumsy to get the flippers to flip at the right time. But this one looks awesome. Great work on putting it back together and for the guy that took it apart for bagging everything and tons of pictures.
I see we're well into Pinball's mid-90s Italian Lire hyperinflation scores.... Remember when you could have started a multiball at half a mil max on the board?! 1.2 *billion* for a replay!? 😂😂😂 Fantastic series Ron!
The match scene is the monster ripping the heart out of Elizabeth which is a scene in the movie which can be turned off in the settings. I've had this machine since 2000 and it's still fun to play.
My Williams machine had that same annoying hum. There is an easy cheap fix. Add a 50 Ohm resistor in series with the speaker wire. This lowers the speaker volume (and hum). Then turn up the volume knob to compensate. No more hum!
Reducing the volume with a resistor will reduce the hum but then you need to turn it up and drive it harder to get it to work at the volume needed . The hum is an AC hum. It can also be significantly reduced with additional filitering and making sure your ground lines are clean and secure. You can hear it is a 120hz hum, which is what you get with rectified 60hz AC :). Although these amplifiers are pretty tolerant, I would be careful adding resistors in the speaker line as this causes an impedance mismatch for the amplifier. Might not cause an issue, but potentially it can. Probably not a big issue for home use where the machine is turned off most of the time, but if you leave a machine on 24/7 I'd be more cautious.
I always wondered what happened when Frankenstein's creation got to the north pole and encountered Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Guess we'll have to wait for the next book.
Nice work Ron. The novel is regarded by many as the first work of what we now call science fiction. The creature is clearly bioengineered as we would describe it now.
Funny, that by year time Pinball Machines got so Electronic with multi ball and gimmicks, i kind of missed it. but these videos have been neat stuff. the pictures were comprehensive.
For the ball getting stuck, I wonder if using a dremel to sand down (bevel) the edge of the metal so the ball rolls up onto the metal easier would work?
I think it depends on how the game is setup but when you've shot the wire frame, you might be able to hold the right flipper up and roll the ball onto the left flipper in order to try and make that pesky ramp shot. Great game though. Pinballs are very expensive in the UK nowadays. I used to own a Playboy Anniversary and a Lethal Weapon 3, many years ago. I sold the Playboy for £350 and the Lethal Weapon 3 for £750 circa late 2000's. Needless to say, I wish I hadn't and still had them 🤦♂
2 things, 1 you don't need to be an engineer to fix electronic devices, I know I used to fix sound amplifiers for a living. 2. It is a shame you couldn't play Frankenstein from the 70's
Joe. I need your help can you do a Video of how to remove and put back the wires in the top cover of pinball machine , i have a Bobby Orr i need to replace the top inside wood where all the builds are . And I’m just trying to do it myself. Please help how do i remove those wires and put them back

@@zillelben8742 I won't disagree, though I've never seen the Robert Deniro movie. As for young Frankenstein? Masterpiece! RIP Teri Garr
Great job on this one Ron. The game was designed with a lot going on! A pin that one would not tire of quickly. Cheers from Canada!

Great stuff! Also have read the book; you're in depth knowledge and comments on the novel are fantastic
Wow what a beautiful job and machine . ❤ sending love 😊

Imagine a “Young Frankenstein” version of this machine where the creation yells FRONKENSTEEN instead…
What a feast for the eyes. It was hard for me to track the ball with all the flashing, but it sure was pretty :D
Wow looks and sounds awesome 👌
Looks like it turned out great like I knew it would. I should send you the youtube video of my wife's theater thing that she did recently. Thanks for the video series on this one.
Just in time for Halloween, love the themed series. Thank you guys 🎃🎃

Great video. You made me want to own this machine now. Looks like a great 90’s title.
This was a totally awesome series Ron! I loved watching it! I can't wait to see what the next one is! Great job!
Do a Thursday Joe Play with the lights on. Please. Happy Halloween!
YAS NVRAMMMMM! Looks great Ron. I hope to play this machine one day!

Fantastic series Ron!
Wow, Ron! Looks great. I enjoyed watching. Thanks. Happy Halloween
Love the game thanks for all the great videos. You've taught me so much about pinball repair, I've fixed 4 games thanks to you
I never saw the film, but it is one of the best books I have ever read.
It looks a fun game to play. Great job getting it back together, your a monster Ron.

It's alive!
Wow, thats a fast game! Nice job!
Amazing work
Spectacular game great series!
Don't feel bad Ron. Notoriously difficult game. Never done well on it myself.
I always wondered what happened when Frankenstein's creation got to the north pole and encountered Superman's Fortress of Solitude. Guess we'll have to wait for the next book.
Great video guys happy Halloween ❤
Thank you Ron.
👍👍👍😎☕
At least the Buzzing sound & Flashing isn't anything shorting or burning after putting all them components together😜
Nice work Ron. The novel is regarded by many as the first work of what we now call science fiction. The creature is clearly bioengineered as we would describe it now.

Hey Ron!!
Damn, still didn`t see Frankie throwing balls at you, lol. Good game though.
For the ball getting stuck, I wonder if using a dremel to sand down (bevel) the edge of the metal so the ball rolls up onto the metal easier would work?
Nice work!👻👻👻
Gameplay @17:00
I think you did ok. You ol gasbag. Ya did fine love it😊
Ron, that movie version stars ROBERT DE NIRO as the creature.
Appropriately enough. Lol
You da MAN, Ron!!! and Joe!!!

Happy Days!
The slingshots are wicked on this game... the strobe lights are very distracting!
Very nice restoration. About where the ball gets stuck, is it possible to file a small bevel into the edge so there is less of a ridge?
2 things, 1 you don't need to be an engineer to fix electronic devices, I know I used to fix sound amplifiers for a living. 2. It is a shame you couldn't play Frankenstein from the 70's
I bet you would have made the ramp shot and multiball if the glass was off and the lights were on!
Joe. I need your help can you do a Video of how to remove and put back the wires in the top cover of pinball machine , i have a Bobby Orr i need to replace the top inside wood where all the builds are . And I’m just trying to do it myself. Please help how do i remove those wires and put them back
I know what's wrong! Your reflexes are broke. 😉 Nah, good game! And a nice repair. 👍
I'm curious what you thought of Young Frankenstein.
Loved it!
How they ever got that actor to let them record him going to the bathroom for that sound.........lol
So glad you can pick the music. Id rather the movie soundtrack, rock music with a Frankenstein pinball doesn't sound good.
You'd probably hate it, i'm so glad you don't have to hate it
Yodelayheehoo
This is the easiest pinball game I ever play I almost beat the first high score though
Barf.
