Brilliant. Wish they’d done the whole series just like this. It’s perfect. Thanks for posting. Good old Arthur Ransome got me through COVID lockdown and a bout of depression. Coots forever! Ps. I’ve managed to get some old copies from the 40s and one from the war years has an ad for “London calling” on the back “the voice of freedom for occupied Europe”! Classic.
This was the first Arthur Ransome book I ever read, more than 60 years ago. I still enjoy them today. I have a complete collection which sits on show in a bookcase, the dustjackets are works of art! I have this TV series, which includes both Broads-based stories, on DVD

I would like to see this TV series, but I do not know where could I get it. If you could help...
I kept imagining the state of mind of the author since it was published in the darkest stages of WWII
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Typical no apology from police and another people who accused this boys
In the book, PC Tedder does apologise to them
They probably did, it was just simply done off-screen. Though I admit it would have been nice to have actually seen them make one.
Pity Port and Starboard weren't in this film. Same with Mrs Barrable who only appeared briefly.
