I had a 2014 Camry torque converter failed Toyota dealer replaced the torque converter and reprogrammed the transmission. It NEVER got over 30mpg again. No mater how slow and easy, I drove the car.

99.9999% of torque converters that fail damage the transmission. It's just a simple fact. Ask ANY full-time transmission mechanic. I live next to one, and he told me they NEVER replace just the torque converter without replacing the transmission also.

Can you complete this without power tools?

You don't need power tools, they just make the job easier.

@nieyawhitaker7888 I bought mine from ebay. The biggest problem I ran into was they didn't send any studs incase you cant get yours out. So make sure it's in there

Sounds like you may have picked up the version that was thick on the part of the manifold that sits flat with the cylinder head, is there a gap between where it bolts on? Thats what happened in the video. Send a picture of what you have to mgmechanicdc@gmail.com and I will tell you if something is off.

Haven’t even watched the video yet but I want to say thank you! got a quote for about 1700 bucks at an auto shop but I’m a machinist/programmer and figured I’d do it my damn self ! 🫡

You got this! It’s not terribly difficult if the nuts/bolts come off easily.
