I know the game is solo driven but having a friend play along , maybe act as a presidential advisor, will help with the constant scanning and flipping through the books / charts. The sandbox element works so well with whatever way you want to experience it. We plan on having our first term as a serious world leader for the best possible results and the second one of just tomfoolery to see how fast things can spiral out of control. Not sure when our copy is being shipped to Canada but the anticipation is unreal. Thanks for the fun quick play to hold me down till then!
Interesting Speed run example of play. Hard to follow along, was hoping you would of slowed down and showed us the play using the Turn Sequence Flipbook. and but does give example of some stuff going on. Excited for my copy to come in, for sure going to give it a go on TTS.
Yes, I decided to remove all the thinking time/chart consultation time/rules checks in an effort to keep it snappy. Too many game playthroughs are endless affairs, in my opinion. I think someone familiar with the game should be able to follow along though, so please come back when you've had a chance to play it. We are also doing a more "traditional" playthrough as well at the moment, so stay tuned!
At 14:30, you go around evaluating and changing the economy tracks of many areas in the board. I don’t see that called out in the turn sequence flip book. Can you clarify what was driving those die rolls?
Yes, that's in the "Ally and Rogues" booklet - because chit A was drawn, there is a check on economic trends that happens when working through the procedure for the Eurozone. I should have explained that more clearly
Cool to see you play this game. Was really interested to see how it works in practice. Seems there's a lot of gears and wheels moving, but kept me wondering how well it all works as a game.

such a great quality video, and I get that you were trying to keep things moving, but for me personally it went too fast, I didnt learn much about how to play the game, just more about what the game offers....which is cool, but will you do a longer playthrough? I watched your 20 min intro as well, nicely done.
Yes, we're in the middle of recording it right now. Given the length of the game, I was really worried about the playthrough taking six, seven, maybe 10 hours, knowing full well that very few people would ever sit through the whole thing. So I opted to try a more streamlined playthrough, with all the thinking and rules checking and such removed, and some narrative spice thrown in. I hope there ends up being an audience for both styles of playthrough
@LegendaryTactics yea I totally understand what you where going for, again just for me personally it went too fast. Maybe a slow walk through for turn one, then this type of video for the rest of the game until something pops up, then a slow down again to explain things? Again, love the quality, nice job.

Those Greater Society Initiatives sound pretty cool. What do the rest of them do? And do they give the same benefit if you pass the "2' one after the "1" one?
They are pretty neat. You need to pass them twice in order to get those big things done. Passing the first stage will get you some bonuses, but if you can pass the second stage through Congress, you get a lot of bonuses and legacy points.
I was wondering if you'd developed any strategies in dealing with the world stage? Seems alignment is key, as that lets you remove influence. Keeping the rogue nations down is important as well? So many terrorists... so little time. 😅
It is a great game, as long as you can leave it set up somewhere for a time. Also, it doesn't have to be a solo game - you can play as a team with other players, perhaps filling different roles. But ultimately, we all have limited shelf space and limited time...and GMT has made the tabletop simulator module available on their website, btw...
Was hoping to get a better understanding of how the game works but this playthrough is way too fast with no explanation of anything. Not trying to be mean, I just feel like you don’t get an understanding of the game from watching this.
Yes, what I was trying for was more of a narrative approach, as my fear is that a normal playthrough video will be hours and hours long, and it's very unlikely people will want to stay through the whole thing. That said, we are coming out with a playthrough more along the lines of what you are suggesting - just editing it now!

I love the idea of this game, and I'm heavily debating getting it. But I have this nagging voice telling me that it'll likely gather dust on my shelf.
