I'm overwhelmed with complete awareness of these valuable words from so long ago.....the world today should live by these most prolific words of wisdom.❤
This Ancient-Greek Philosophy is "a bible", a manual that covers all important aspects of human life. By listening and learning and practicing these teachings, we can live well our entire life. Thank you! "ACTIONS SPEAKS LOUDER THAN WORDS", indeed!
It's the pinnacle of European thought before Christianity ruined our culture.
Actions speak louder than words, Not “speaks”
"He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still." - Lao Tzu.
Stoicism and Catholicism go hand in hand. You'd have to be a fool to think otherwise.
The romans integrated the Greek peoples and ideas...
I mean, we only call them greek because the romans, thought the name of a city state, in what would become the Italian panituala were a whole peoples.
Who do you think kept the knowledge of the Greeks...
Always stay positive around negative people..
"You can never have words you didn't speak used against you"
So often in our quest to "have our say" or "tell our side" we damage ourselves more than if we said nothing.
Definitely, thank you.

Reminds me of my favourite Buddhist quote: 'Misfortune comes from one's mouth and ruins one, fortune comes from one's heart and makes one worthy of respect'
At the same time, accept and learn from mistakes, let yourself laugh (don’t feed resentments), and don’t give into delusions of your own ‘greatness.’
Thank you.
You are opening our eyes in certain ways. Sometimes, we need someone who is leaner.intelligent, have wisdom….. and more to advise us.
I will suggest that, the English language should be lower for everyone to understand . Some of us did not have high education.
Your teachings are very important but the English language is highly.

“Marcus Aurelius, followed about the year of our Lord 161, a man of nature more stern and severe; and, although in study of philosophy and in civil government no less commendable, yet, toward the Christians sharp and fierce; by whom was moved the fourth persecution.
“The cruelties used in this persecution were such that many of the spectators shuddered with horror at the sight, and were astonished at the intrepidity of the sufferers. Some of the martyrs were obliged to pass, with their already wounded feet, over thorns, nails, sharp shells, etc. upon their points, others were scourged until their sinews and veins lay bare, and after suffering the most excruciating tortures that could be devised, they were destroyed by the most terrible deaths.
“Germanicus, a young man, but a true Christian, being delivered to the wild beasts on account of his faith, behaved with such astonishing courage that several pagans became converts to a faith which inspired such fortitude”.

I am baffled by the comments... Do people read books anymore??? Or they just learn philosophy from bite size TH-cam videos?
I guess the fact that you are here commenting on the TH-cam video, as opposed to spending your time reading a book, answers your own question.
I’m sorry I don’t know what you wrote I cannot read I’m illiterate

There is no inner dialogue. It's a monologue. If you're having a dialogue you should seek help!
"self-improvement" is about lessening your ego. If you tell others about it you have failed because you seek to enhance your ego by telling them. You can't make personal progress when anyone else is involved in it.
Can stoicism be adopted by someone? I feel it's more so a personality by how one was raised and their childhood experiences. I'm sure some of these practices can be adhered to but I feel it would be quite difficult to be a very stoic person if you're personality doesn't side with being stoic. If that makes any sense
Hello, thank you for your comment. You don't need to become a perfect Stoic, but you can adapt aspects of Stoic philosophy that benefit your life. The goal is simply to become a better person, whether that includes principles from Stoic philosophy or any other. Thank you.
@@womansexuality I like it. I've always admired someone very stoic
Not trying to troll or anything. Just an honest question- how does a stoic path align with people who over-indulge but are lost due to the comfort that friends offer with regards to excessive eating and it being *natural?
You're just going to Heart any and all comments made on your channel?
Ugh....
7 things you shouldn’t tell anyone…number 3, don’t eat too much

The exact opposite of what is happening in modern society with the big changes that social media TikTok and reality TV is encouraging in our young people. To act this way now shows real class, subtlety and fortitude…shades of Zen..
