- 2 sets of tires GONE in a day. The 100 mph bash setup, is it feasible to keep? We test the 1717 on 8s in a vehicle more suited for this motors caliber. Also run not one- but 5, 100 mph passes in a row, with no break or high temperatures...

What do you have in this limitless a 1/6 Mamba Monster X 8S ESC w/1717-1650KV motor package and a cat pack?
@@FLSharkdiver Looks like it, I wanna know his gearing ratio. I believe stock is 27t pinion with 34t spur (1.26 ratio) but with the lower turn, high torque of the 1717 he might have it even lower.

The acceleration on this rc car is insane it is nearly as fast as the second generation Tesla roadster
Your the man for these videos!! So basically with that setup I can bash all day long on 6s. Not really into speed running as much as street bashing. But a few speed runs here and there would top it off!
Yes sir! And all you'd have to do is change the batteries from 6 to 8s.

This combo is pretty awesome, I'm currently running it on my Limitless as well. It can definitely handle a few runs even geared a bit tall. Was able to get several runs back to back geared at 34T pinion with a 29T spur. And it was pretty hot outside, for CT at least lol.. Almost 90F. Both temps were well under 200F, motor & ESC. And this ESC does cool down pretty fast I must say!
I did order the XLX2, shipped out today. Castle was able to take in my burnt-out Monster Mamba 2 from my Typhon 6S & upgrade it to the XLX2 for $159 out the door. They said they even take in other brands in as well & allow you to trade them for their product at a reduced price, pretty cool! Cant wait to try out the XLX2 on the Limitless & compare data with the MMX 8S.
How did the xlx2/1717 combo look? i am about to slap it in my infraction
@@calebgilmore3327 @Caleb Gilmore it's awesome, but it will require some modifications to get it to fit, nothing crazy but necessary. The main thing being the battery tray on the servo side.
I'm going to be uploading a video to my channel soon showing the updates on my Limitless before I upgrade to either a dual motor setup or the 1721 2400kv motor.

Great videos mate. I have purchased a Limitless with the Castle Mamba x 8s and 1717 combo based on your recommendations and reviews. Super excited to get everything delivered. I have ordered some of the CHNL 70c 4s batteries for the Limitless and I have seen your review on the CHNL website of the 30c racing batteries they make. They have an 8000 mah 3s, 4s and 6s in the 30c variation. What are your thoughts on using those for general Arrma and Traxxas bashing? (Arrma 6s line, Slash, Xmaxx, Maxx etc). Keep up the great work and thanks for all the info.
Thanks on that glad your setup with solid stuff! You might as well go with the 55c for bashing in 6000 or 5000mah. Cheao r than the 70c series but will deliver more power needed for the 6s range. 30c is great but for mild beginner setups

How does that work for racing with a low punch c-level? Are they actually any good? While I have you, is there anything you highly recommend for my Limitless set-up? I have an Infraction and love it but it is mainly stock and the Limitless is my first true speed run car. TBH it is only my second on-road car after the infraction which I love! So any little tips about simple gear like turnbuckles, bearings, drive shafts and whatnot is greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the great info and vids!

i just threw a 42t and pinion with the standard limitless spool (34t?) on my 1100kv set up, stock infraction body, and a new set of hoons.... got a good 8 mins of 100mph drifts untill it cut out at 62 degrees Celsius on the xlx2 settings. Was actually its 1st ever run and i just wanted some logging data. over all very happy BUT the stock axles, CVs, drivehsafts? all have slight bends in them and their still new, my brand new limitless roller is the same... anyone got any recommendations?
Hey man what size and brand gears are you running with the 2028 motor? I have had a couple people say that these gears I ordered won’t work
So the 1717 fits inside the stock heat sink and also bolts right up to the stock motor mount?
What type of heatsink and fan did you use on the motor?

What's the typical run time now days on rc cars? Back in the day when 2000mah was a big thing you got like 10min
Oh average nowadays with a 5000mah LiPo I'd around 30 minutes depending how you drive.
If you desire run time some setups can last over 45 minutes

@@captaincrunch9437 i got mine on ebay I came with a antenna wire you have to solder so if you have a ball cup antenna wire you will have to buy the antenna wire separately. I hooked my up to a radiolink controller and it works good.

For one, it's hard to find solid 8s batteries. Plus you'd need an 8s charger. So you might as well go twin 4s
the hobbywing 8s pack looks good, i just want to know if the difference of resistance would be too small to make a difference 😅
