my problem with the snyder films is that superman looks fucking miserable throughout. he smiles and jokes and banters in the comics. hes a bottomless font of goodwill and charity and genuine caring in the comics. he takes every opportunity possible to reason with his enemies in the comics. in the snyder films hes a dour, grim-faced, miserable bastard, and that just isnt superman
SoylentRobot Could have been nice or well written if he was Snyder superman when he's alone, but acted like comic supes in public. Could give him character and be a unique interpretation of this ancient character.
I don't blame Tony's reaction at the end of the film, but I was team Captain the whole time. That being said, this was one Marvel movie where there were really no winners, only opinions. And THAT was masterfully done. :)
They both wrong for the right reasons, that being said I was more on Tony's side as he and Spidey are more underdogs than the jocks Cap and Bucky (who I don't care about now). And while Tony isn't perfect, Cap got plenty of flaws too, hell in Ultron his "nightmare" Wanda gives him is a peaceful world with Peggy. *Steve doesn't want a world where he doesn't have to fight*
That is a major flaw, now that you've pointed it out. I just didn't like The Avengers being under the government's thumb. They defend the world, not by the whims or consent of organizations but by their own choice. Putting their lives on the line for what's right. Also yeah, I usually always side with the underdogs. :3
Being tied to Government by the Accords is kinda shitty, but as much Ross is a huge hypocritical douchebag, *he still has a point* . Scarlet Witch alone kills a dozen people by accident to save one man (Cap) and Vison paralyses Rhodey in one moment he loses focus. They need to set limits while they're fighting on Earth at the very least, but Cap doesn't listen. Through he's well intentioned, Steve is still treating everything like it's the 40s, charging and doing it his own way and Cap has never accepted working for any higher power. He hated working for Shield before he even knew they were Hydra.
True. I guess you can say it's a double-edged sword how headstrong Steve is. But that's also why I like his character. Lol It does suck though, times are different than before.
Well that's the thing, Tony is usually the headstrong reckless one along with (Spiderman and Black Panther) while Cap is normally more stoic and patient. But Civil War changes it around with Steve too focused on protecting his cave man buddy Bucky to listen to his modern friends.
I agreed with Tony with all the way and the ending only cemented it for me... Spidey didn't dominate the fight sure *But he still kicked Bucy and Falcon ass in seconds*
Li-Li Mandragon I've seen the movie twice and I still can't decide. On one hand, the ability of superheroes to act without worrying about legal ramifications is a huge part of what makes them effective crimefighters. On the other hand... they're acting without worrying about legal ramifications. For a bystander, there isn't that much different between a villain and a hero- they both end up destroying cities, and it's hard to tell which side is good when you're trying to evacuate.
Really in the comics Tony is wrong and superheroes should have no limits but in movies where actions have consequences and city wide destruction should be avoided not encouraged. Plus when Thanos arrives the UN will need the Avengers anyway.
Still haven't seen Civil War because I'm a filthy peasant, and I avoided BvS like the plague because I'm not stupid. I saw Age of Ultron in theaters (mistake) and I remember it being really joyless, save for a few fun moments.
Why did I like Age of Ultron? I want to be good at telling if movies were good or bad, but I keep on accidentally liking superhero movies that a lot of people are saying are bad.
nerdwarp112 It's not a bad movie, per say, it's just a gigantic flawed mess. There are good things in it, and I didn't feel like I'd been ripped off. I understand why someone would like it, and there' nothing wrong with liking something that's reviewed poorly or is unpopular. :D
You know what I'd love to see in a superhero movie? I want someone who is unquestionably, from day one a true hero, to die. I want someone who doesn't have a dark shady past, who was never an anti hero, or a villain turned good, none of that shit. I want them to eat it and then stay dead forever, never resurrected in that universe. All the production companies are too scared to permanently bury any particular version of a hero because it might lose them a slight number of asses in seats for the next movie, but I don't care. It's so fucking frustrating and unrealistic to me (and yeah, I know I'm asking for realism in a superhero movie, it doesn't make sense, fuck me) that every time there's a major battle thousands upon thousands of rando fucking nobodies die horribly, but all our heroes come out the other side with hardly a scratch. If no one dies in infinity war, I think I'll be done watching this current cannon of marvel movies.
Someone doesn't read enough comics! Death is meaningless if you're a superhero, they always find a way to bring you back. Maybe, _maybe_, a secondary hero like War Machine will bite the dust, but I wouldn't count on it.

I thought this was a spoilercast for the American Civil War and frankly I'm a little disappointed,
Such a good movie. Listening to this after the BvS spoilercast is a treat.
That's literally how I'm doing it right now.
So...no one's gonna question the fact that Woolie used Za Warudo?
This must be the work of an Enemy Stand.
And he did it without yelling "TOKI WA TOMARE, ZA WARUDO". Woolie is more powerful than Dio confirmed.
nobodies pies are safe.
"I would love to see a B Team in Infinity War that exists to be murdered."
Are you suggesting a NextWave movie?

I was so worried about Spiderman's scenes, and I ended up enjoying it.
I knew they some the the best scenes in the movie. I also knew he'd kick Bucky's ass at some point.

Spoiler:
The Union won
Tobey McGuire is the ultimate spider-meme-man

As someone who liked it, it felt like it needed another 30 min to an hour to breath a bit more.
Gregory Hagen I'll agree. I think another draft or two of the script would've made a world of a difference.
was woolie still pissy about having spiderman "spoiled" for him?

logandh2 well youd like the first part of jojo then...
CHOCOLATEzer0
What doesn't Jojo have?
@@joinsideke the only character that I don't remember coming back is the original Toxin Patrick Mulligan
#teamironman
Woolies comment about Black Panther and Storm on screen is possible now. Fuck yeah
This description of Black Panther sounds like the worst character.
Aww, Inhumans got cancelled.
But L is black, so it should automatically make a movie better rite xDDD
Many months later, what a forgettable ass movie, it's pretty bad looking back, but still far better than BVS, and that's a fucking embarrassment.
You know you don't need to keep lying about Spider-Man, we can all admit how bad he is
