    New subscriber from Michigan, we raise New Zealand and California meat rabbits, heavy milking lines of Reg Alpine's dairy goats, wild mustangs not wild anymore. Chickens, ducks, turkeys. Above bed garden, small orchard with gapes vines. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.

      That sounds like a fun operation! I'm definitely jealous of the horses. They are on my wish lists.

    Good job guys! It's always trial and error my sweet friend when figuring out stuff. I just love watching Declan as well! Tell him his friend Alisha will see him soon!! ❤️

    Thanks for sharing. It brought back memories of making some cages for my rabbits. I think your cages turned out quite well.

    In this you say the door openings are large to fit a 5 gallon buxket nexting box? Id like tonsee a video of what that looks like and how you safely move it with kits in it to check on them.

    If you lay the side on the bottom it will work better

      This way worked pretty well, but I may try that in the future

    Great video! We are just about to build some new cages ourselves. How do you baby proof the floor?

    • @LivingtheHightLife
      @LivingtheHightLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don't need to. By the time the rabbits are coming out of the nest box they are big enough to navigate the 1/2" x 1 inch floor openings and that space is not big enough for even the newest kits to fall through

      Your husband.. was filing the doors for you not to scrape your arm.. he said it's for the babies (kits) you are also one of his babies.. he loves you to the moon .. you can see it in his face..

      I don't have a link. Depending on where you are located you may find them cheaper at a farm store or on Amazon. I'm not sure where you shop

    Good morning my friend and family. What state are you in? I raised rabbits about 7 years ago. I had about two hundred at one time

    How does your garden grow this season?
    Any change from the problems of last year?

    • @LivingtheHightLife
      @LivingtheHightLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may do a video of it this week to give an update. So far, I haven't had any of the same problems from last year.

    Have your cages rest on wood will cause problems later on. You should hang the cages It also helps with snakes getting into your cages. you can build a ramp so all the waste is collected in a smaller footprint.

    • @LivingtheHightLife

      We deal with wood and rabbits often since we use it for our rabbit tractors and rabbit colony also. We definitely took the cons into concern when constructing this set up. I feel much more secure using the wood and the cage only rests on 1/2" of the wood.

    Sun,rain,draft,winter...do you have meskalito???= miksomatoza

    • @LivingtheHightLife
      @LivingtheHightLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      It has a roof for rain. Our winters are fairly mild, rarely getting below freezing during the day. To keep warm, we give each of our rabbits nest boxes to burrow in.
      The roof catches the rain and collects it in barrels to water the rabbits.
      Drafts aren't a big deal for us. Most of our year is spent trying to harness drafts to cool our rabbits because we stay hot.
      Myxomatosis does occur here. We have lots of mosquitos that can transmit it. We have never had an issue with it though.
