When I went Europe I wanted singapore food so I ordered spicy stuff but it was soooooo sweet and not spicy, I cried hor.
OMG... I missed chicken rice sooooooo much when I was studying in Canberra.
my dad was Singaporean and he always said this is expensive lol... brought back memories.
I knew this was Melbourne, the accent is real and free public bikes
I'm Indonesian, but I can relate to most of this. When visiting NZ with my family we were freezing at summer over there, luckily I adapted after 3 days. Oh yeah, my dad had Asian food withdrawal after 4 days in Australia, I had it after 2 weeks.
Haha I live in Perth and have to say, Australia is cheaper than Singapore in most circumstances! (except maybe certain food)

After visiting Singapore in July, I agree about the price of the food here in Melbourne compared to Singapore (when you look at hawker centres). You should have come to Canberra as well where it's even colder!

Singaporean food is good, I've experienced it and happy with both taste and quality. That's maybe a good reason why remember home when they're overseas. But the price in Singapore is not cheap in compare with other development countries for example US. And btw, you can drink tap water almost everywhere in US and Australia :)
erm tree potatoes, in case ur have not noticed, things in other countries are mostly cheaper than in Singapore. the cost of living in Singapore is pretty high

Singapore is more expensive depending on what the product is. And we have Laksa and all what, just go to Asian shops amd can find.

Guys try visit my country New Zealand, many things in NZ are very affordable for backpackers and of course Singaporeans :D And it is much cheaper than Australia

I read somewhere that Singapore is the most expensive country in the world to live in...
There's a difference between living and holidaying abroad. If you were to factor in housing and car prices, then yes, those cost a bomb in Singapore. But when it comes to dining out, we have a lot more affordable options compared to Australia(featured here). I visited Australia a few times and when it does to eating out, other than fast food, it usually means costing AUD$7 and above, when we mostly get the same/similar at SGD$3-4 back in Singapore. But truth be told, groceries in Australia is cheaper than in Singapore, as Australia have land for agriculture while most groceries in Singapore are imported. On the other hand, if we're in a country that has plenty of cheap good food when dining out (like street food, small eateries etc), then Singaporeans go crazy over the food and forget about comparing prices.
Where in Australia did you shoot this? Edited to add: I watched the rest of the video and I did think it was Melbourne. To anyone of you who has not been to Melbourne, please do visit. It is beautiful.

there used to be a Singapore Chomp Chomp restaurant back then just a about half a street down, but it was already closed down when I went back in 2013, tho the food there sucked, cant compare with sg ones.
