I get that too. You need to remember that you don't need to hold the power button for it to turn on, just press it really hard and release and as long as you do it quick enough it wont switch. When it does switch you will hear an extra beep when it powers on, so if you think you might have accidentally done it, just power off then power on the camera ,and again, if you press the power button quick enough it wont switch.

Do you have any suggestion to help prevent the camera from shifting from video mode into still mode accidentally? I've been using the headstrap mount while paddling using one button move to get videos. However occasionally it will accidentally switch to still shot mode -- maybe I hold the start button a second too long. Is there an easy way to audibly recognize that your camera has shifted modes? On the water it's not easy to take the camera off and look, so I rely on the audible signals.

I tried mounting my camera to a vented helmet and everything went well except for the buckle clip. Mine does not snap tightly into the mount because it wiggles around a bit once I snap it in. Am I doing something wrong? Is the buckle clip the only way to mount them (other than the sticky mount)?

What video camera do you recommend for snowboarding to clip on to that helmet? I am planning on buying one of these cameras for my brother.

i got one for $40 but it was a vivitar

Cheapest go pro at target is $149.99 I believe.
      I also bought a vivitar.
I bought a 1080p for $50. Norm price is $70 for that model, where I'm at.
Hope it works for when I'm snowboarding. Go pro might be a little more durable.
