  • Shirakawa-go or Ogimachi village is an old Japanese village consisting of thatched houses, rice paddy fields, mountains, and rivers. This quaint little village nestled in the Japanese alps has charmed many tourists with the way it has preserved most of its traditional way of life, with its Gassho-zukuri houses.
I believe many of you have already seen pictures of this Gassho community, but believe me, it's nothing comparing to the real stuff.
English is not my first language, if you have found some mistakes in my subtitles please correct it. I think that would be a great help. Thank you so much and I really appreciate your time and effort :)
    Thanks for watching :)

      Konnichiwa,
When we went to shiragawa-go it’s just a day trip, but we saw some gassho houses offering accomodation for tousrists.
I want also to experience staying in an actual Gassho house, so I did some research and they ranges about 8,000 yen - 15,000 for 2 days and 1 night. It’s a little bit expensive compare to regular hotels.
But, if you just need a place to sleep and not planning to stay in a Gassho house there are some hotels near shiragawa-go and the price are much more cheaper.
Or you can stay in one of the hotels in takayama and travel to shirakawa-go( most of the tourist do this).
