I will be traveling to Takayama this upcoming October and have been debating between shirakawa-go and the hida folk village due to time constraints. Your video was super helpful and I'm super appreciative of the content you guys make!!
Takayama is one of my favorite cities. Not to mention the atmosphere of the town, Hida beef is also the best. Takayama is located on a highland, so the cherry blossoms bloom a little late. So hopefully, you can enjoy it at the same time as the Takayama Spring Festival.
Your journeys fascinate me every time. And the last extra video is actually my favorite. If you enjoy Wagyu beef, there is no need to choose a famous and expensive brand such as Kobe Beef. This is because it is very tasty no matter where it comes from in Japan. The quality of beef is ranked in five levels, with 3 or higher being unquestionably delicious, and 4 and 5 being enchantingly delicious. The highest rank is A5, which can be purchased at supermarkets, so please explore and see for yourself. By the way, the orange fruit on the tree with all the leaves gone is the persimmon. Japanese fruits are expensive but very tasty. In early summer (June-July), we recommend cherries, loquats, peaches, and watermelons💓
I've been watching Heather and Bill's videos for a long time. This time, the Hida and Shirakawa-go video was a very good teaching guide video. It was very enjoyable, with the charming personalities of you guys. By the way, if you have the next opportunity, I strongly recommend that you go hiking in the Tohoku region. Most tourists from abroad don't stop in the Tohoku region, so you can experience new sights and food, and have wonderful communication with the most charming people in Japan. I highly recommend hiking for you around Zao (there is a beautiful crater lake near the top of the mountain). Please do. Thank you always, and take care, stay well (from the bugs!!!).
Thanks! I have been a loyal follower from Singapore for some time and it's always so enjoyable to explore vicariously through your vlogs ❤ especially the Japan series 😊 thanks for your hard work!
If you are thanking about future hiking trails, Hokkaido looks amazing and there are lots of hiking trail too!!! You should go there for your 3rd trip to Japan! (: I am going to japan for my 2nd time and will visit west part of Japan (similar to your 2nd trip so have been binging your videos lol!), and hoping to come a 3rd time to go to Hokkaido (since i dont get enough time off to do it all at once ): ). Hope you go, so I can get inspiration from your trip when the time comes haha!! ❤
We have a new Japan series coming soon! It's been a little delayed due to some family health issues, but I think you'll find some fun things! Next time we go to Japan, we'd love to hike in Hokkaido though! 😊 😊
@TalesFromOurPocket sending you both and your families lots of love during this time!! Hope things improve so you can go on many more travels. Looking forward to your upcoming videos ❤️
Hi. Which month did you go? I’ve booked my trip for h fall color but I think I booked too early in the season😢 I love Takayama. We’ve been there once. Love your video!!
Hi, fall color timing varies every year! This video was recorded around November 1. If your main goal is fall color and you think you booked too early, you could try going to Hokkaido! Takayama also has slightly earlier fall color because it's a little higher in altitude. Kamikochi has even earlier fall color.
Such vivid fall colors!
What a beautiful place!
Yes, indeed. Tree leaves in Takayama get really beautifully red. Dense and vivid red!Especially the tree just outside Takayama Station!
We were in Shirakawa go in January. It was total magic. So beautiful in the snow! Have you thought about doing the Nakasendo trail?
I'm glad to see from the video that you have stayed in Japan for so long, because it seems that you like Japan very much!
I've had Hida beef, Kobe beef, Matsuzaka beef, Yamagata beef, Noto beef, Omi beef, and Yonezawa beef. But by far the most delicious was Kobe beef!
You deserve to eat Bill, the editing is fantastic on this video. Great work.
please cut down the cuteness, you two. :)
The food looks amaaazing!!

will you be in japan in mid-july? enjoy the Gion festival in kyoto during the scorching hot summer.

Bill also looks like he’s carrying a heavier load, which requires more food 😀
I live in Ome City, Tokyo, and I've seen Japanese serows twice in the parking lot of my house. Bears also appear in the neighborhood .😅
Haha, never too early for sake tasting!
Thank you for this video! What month is autumn in Shirakwago? Thanks!
Persimmon tree with fruits, minus leaves!!
What is the name of the Hida beef restaurant? Thanks for another lovely video.
From Hokkaido to isorated islands of Okinawa, there are plenty of local Wagyu producers. So let's find another great Wagyu experience somewhere else.
Great video. Thanks. You said autumn in your description, could you kindly be a more precise? End of November, end of October , December? 😀
End of October and very early November. 😊
@@TalesFromOurPocket Thank you so much.☺️
Amazing video! What month was this video shot in?
Cool sponsorship. Let Bill eat. Takes lots of energy to fight of a potential bear attack. LOL

Thanks! It's Aji-no-Yohei 😊
Like first , watch later

Ever watched "Your Name" based on Gifu? It's an anime movie. But it itself is a masterpiece.
do you prefer Takayama or Kanazawa?
Kamikochi ❤

We were there in Autumn last year too
HI, Which month did you visit?
This video was filmed during the first few days of November. 😊
@@TalesFromOurPocket Thanks. I hope to visit during the middle of Nov.
new tomato & old tomato🍅みたいな感じ?
we also be there on this Novemember
