One the best AlCan Videos I have watched, and I have watched a lot! I love that you keep it real. Good to know the bugs are no joke. Thanks for the cinnamon bun footage. Epic. Regards.
Thank you for that! We had a hard time finding much content on the Alcan when we were planning this trip. We hope this helps others be prepared!! We also hope you catch it on a year when the roads and mosquitoes aren’t so extreme! 🤪
Cool videos so far... wife and I went up in 2017. We were there mid July and the mosquitos were not all that bad! Sorry about the tires but good on you for changing them all. These videos only make me want to return! It was $10.00 Canadian cash only to swim in the spring!
We are loving your Alaska videos! There is one problem, we have watched all 6 and now we have to wait for the rest! 😢 We are planning an Alaska adventure this next summer, and can’t wait! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
We were there in 2019, and a cow moose was grazing beside the boardwalk, then crossed right in front of us. It was incredible, my wife had never seen a moose before, and having one less than 20 feet away, wow
That is awesome!!!! We had been to Montana and Wyoming several times and never seen one. The first time we finally saw one was in Jackson, WY in a parking lot and we freaked out like we had just caught Santa putting presents under the tree. All the locals were rolling their eyes. Lol! But it is AMAZING the first time you see that size in person!
Awwwww- thank you. This is not a business for us so we just document as we go. The mosquitoes get better as the weather gets cooler. We noticed they were easier to catch and smash at night. So gross! We didn’t have any problems in the coastal towns or Anchorage. It’s primarily interior areas with rivers and it was very bit as bad as it looked. Are you heading up soon?
The Milepost. You can order it online and it has every single mile marker along the ALCAN with places to stop along the way. It is very helpful. The Tetsa River cinnamon rolls were the best! They have been featured on Food Network. There homemade bread is divine!!!
We can see why! A section of the highway collapsed this summer. They had a bypass around it open by the time we came back down but we had friends stuck there for a few days waiting it out.

We also want to go back again at some point and we would LOVE to catch a year with less mosquitoes. Hopefully, they won’t be bad in BC this year?!?!!
