As a licensed female therapist, I wholeheartedly believe that DJ is a narcissist - the dangerous type because he has the intellectual capability to be deceitful on a grand scale. But, even more apparent, he is in need of serious therapy, and so does his wife. I speculate they coexisted in a trauma bond their entire relationship and that the signs were always there. The perfect recipe for these bonds is a narcissist and a partner with little to no sense of self (the wife). This is what you get.
Once I started seeing men speak out against him, I recognized that something was egregious in how he pandered and was turned off. The thing is, the average woman doesn't have the insight of a licensed clinician, so they'll fall for this stuff. I hope this is a lesson to everyone.

Certified Life Coach here. Fyi, the way that I was trained was not to force any agenda on people, but to empower people to help discover their own Journey and to help them find the tools to really be who they want to be authentically. It was also about helping them advocate for themselves, and develop soft skills that could help them get to that next level! It was very helpful similar to therapy, helping people get to the root of why they struggle to reach their goals! So when done properly, it can be extremely helpful! Health coaching was what helped me lose 50 lb and live a healthier lifestyle! But, you're right, that there are people who are not doing it for the right reasons or from the right lens!
Also, I used to watch his videos, and a lot of them weren't bad. There were a bunch of them that were just about loving yourself and knowing you're worth, and setting appropriate boundaries. To be fair, when he was speaking ill of men, it was more about if you encounter this type of behavior here's what you should do. I never got the impression that he was condemning all men.
But his behavior is fraudulent as hell right now.

I think Preach made a great point at the end. All these "relationship coaches" do is offer bad advice with zero liability, and then shit talk actual professionals like psychologists who go to school and have structures in place for the protection of their patients.
It really feels like this man became a dating coach to cope with his infidelity. Instead of confronting himself for his socially unacceptable behavior, he puts all that energy into crafting his public image (a man who not only lives in a socially acceptable manner, but acts like a champion of it). I'm not a big fan of Psychoanaltic Theory, but sometimes that shit makes sense. Speaking on that part Preach said about psychology though, I did 4 years of psychology and even then I'm not fit to be a dating coach. Yes I have learned more about relationships than the average person, but to be a coach or a counselor you need additional schooling and certification. It's not easy. So I get the frustration with random people coming up and claiming to be coaches or experts.
He could spin this whole thing and say he was just warning women about males like him.. some naive folks would fall for it.
He discovered a market "desperate women seeking validation from a good looking male" and saw $$$ signs. Then he also saw free sex.

As someone who is studying to become a psychologist; do not give general advice and claim it to be the answer. There is a reason why we treat people individually. The treatment depends on the person, just like Preach said.
Now there are situations where you can give some tips, but only if you state that these are tips which aren’t specific and that if they need more than generic they need individual help.
Same goes for doctors treating patients. Everyone knows that eating fruits and vegetables is good for you and knows some generic things to do when you feel sick. When it gets more complicated, you call a doctor. Same thing

They have a lot more belief and faith in specialists, and they subconsciously tend to shy away from good or common advice offered to them by people who aren't in their field. In other words, it's often hard for a psychologist to trust and adhere to the word of someone not in their field when they need the help that they offer to others. Hopefully, this is not the case for the OP, but it is something to keep in mind.

No. Relationships function best when both parties are mature and have morals...don't need a relationship with God for that. Some of the worst marriages I've seen (always end in divorce because of infidelity) were couples that had "relationships with God".

As you can see, someone can simultaneously invoke the name of Jesus and still say things that are completely unbiblical. A relationship with God is more evident in their behavior than in their words.

I disagree about the divorce thing, sometimes it's better for people to separate, there's undesirable consequences to stay in a relationship when there's distrust, issues, personality conflict and layers in-between. It's like walking into street as soon as you get home, you don't even want to be there because it's so stressful. But I mean there's a lot of people with divorced parents who's issues and stuff you can relate with so, it's not the worst option
Preach is right. There’s just too many parameters in love and relationships. You have to know and understand all those parameters for certain to be able to call yourself a relationship expert, and that’s just not possible.
