I can't tell you the times between the ages of 8 and 16 , the number of grown black men that would hit on me. In the neighborhood park, walking to/from school, walking to the corner store,etc... following me in their cars or following me walking trying to catch up to talk to me. Luckily , nothing ever happened to me because I would hurry home when this stuff happened.
I'd see them doing it to other girls in the neighborhood, too, every week, if not every day.
This was the late 80s and early 90s and we didn't talk about it then because I knew it was creepy. But I didn't view it as pedophilia and a crime because that was not discussed in our community. Our moms and grandmothers called girls when they found about encounters that went further than mine, were called "fass" aka "fast".
