Had 3 chimeras made by that man with full cork handles !! Had them 16 years still look and feel amazing !! Best rods in the world !!!
wow that was a T/A video guys, wont be able to set my carp rod up, without thinking of the work and skill that went into it, loved it.....
When I was building rods particularly those used for surf casting I would load the rod up with a heavy bend along the spine and temporarily position the guides with zip ties by sight then adjust them with test casts in a nearby field till I had a good compromise between casting distance and line support before wrapping in place .
I did this because I found each blank in a production batch had different spacing needs.

I'm one of those guys that has a salmon rod that I use for all my heavy fishing needs. I have made my own fly rods. It would be fun to build a heaver rod. Good video. I am always happy when I see that I have a TAFishing video! Great Video
I really want to thank you for this video. I never knew how rods were built but now i know i definitely don't want to try to make my own. Nope im not going to try i don't want to see how bad i would mess it up.

very interesting video. To get a golf club shaft to work to maximum spining is essential. Specialists use roughly the same procedure .

You should do some fly fishing over hear in Northern Ireland we have some great rivers like the Bann,the Bush,the Maine and some great fisheries like straid and hillhead.

+Lorenzo Yee Hi, Don't know the reel,but if you check out the main Penn website(could be in the States) I am sure they will have a rod that matches it.Penn make plenty of rods so there is sure to be one that suits your target species.

There are still plenty of rod builders about. Jason White, Andrew Davies, Paul Cook, Luke Bannister, Edward Barder etc but have a go yourself Guys. I'm terrible at crafts but even I can do it and there are plenty of tutorials on youtube. It really isn't that hard.
i also build my own rod. :D 2 already.

i just hope the chinese man put as much love into making my cheapo rod as this man did
