    Just what we need, a 1000cc dual sport 🤦🏻. Je-sus can someone just make a modern 450cc dual sport with long maintenance intervals. These designers are thinking too much, the differentiator in the market is in the 400cc-500cc dual sport range, with 310lbs weight or less.

    • @mikeisland7382
      @mikeisland7382 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Exactly, the market is crying for a 40 hp 300lb bike with a comfortable seat, 20L tank, good suspension and 4K oil changes. Instead we get this with the word enduro in the title.

      No absolutely no David you must realize that Honda has a tradition to maintain and that is to be two years behind in anything advanced and the reason why I traded my CR f1000 African twin even up no money traded keys for keys for an xr1200 Harley Davidson that handles much better than a dirt road than the African twin I owned ever did after going through four different sets of tires to try to make it go on a dirt road without climbing the ditches and speed wobble so I fixed the problem with an XR 1200 Harley Davidson used that I traded for at a Honda dealership in Williamsport Pennsylvania who handed me the keys to the Harley and I handed them the keys today Africa twin that's all hype and no go no handling all bs and very glad I did as I'm having a ball playing with an XR 1200 Harley-Davidson that's just as powerful it's just as fast on top end but an extra feature as it will slide sideways on every gravel road in the country like Jay Springsteen did and you can forget about trying that on the Africa twin unless you have White knuckles of grip and want to take a chance on skinning it up to make it worse even more zero than at zero is already and good luck with your next hype bike that will weigh 500 lb with most of that being above the center of gravity haha hehe ho ho

      I'm hoping on a 490 adventure R for this role although it's still gonna be a bit chunky. We have no solid middle ground bikes, you either get an enduro that can't do shit on the highway or long travel within reason. Or a 500lbs adv bike and that's the small ones. SWM makes an okayish middle ground, light adv but based on ancient and inferior designs. 90's Husqvarna frames.

    • @kevinnashskitchen3517
      @kevinnashskitchen3517 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They can't even make a 300 under 300 lbs .. But I agree. How about a bike able to do some highway and be less weight than a CB500 with an additional 2 or 3 inches travel? A 490 ktm adventure at 400 lbs Even would suit me.

  • @carni6319

    I hope they're focussed on the smaller displacement AT. Building a 1100cc enduro bike will appeal to a smaller market than the 700-800 AT that many have been asking for, and other manufacturers have already delivered on and found much success.

    Just drop the 450L engine into a chassis like the Africa twin. The 450L enduro chassis is too dirt, while the Aftica Twin is too heavey. Marry those two together & take the whole market!

    slope forward seat = worst ergonomic ever if u ever touch the dirt. Low seat means harder to standup, and slope means easier to slide down when smooth terrain starts to get rough. If sloped forward seat is better, Enduro/MX/XC/Rally bikes wouldn't have flat bench shaped seat.
    Shorter riders who complain about seat height should go back to their moped or sport bike. None of the shorter guys i know who *actually* ride dirt bike ever complained about it. It takes skill to ride, not flat-footing and waddle

    The footage is from EICMA 2016 - the exact same event Yamaha introduced the T7 project. Seems like Honda knew exactly that the Enduro Sports would but could never compete with that bike. That has to do with that fabulous and versatile 700cc CP-motor Yamaha can occupy cost effectivly almost every mid-sized bike market segment with. Honda has nothing that comes near that. Lets face it - Honda´s strategy will not allow a modern Trans Alp in the near future. Besides it is not a coincident that Ducati put their new Desert X in the exact same market segment as the new 2022 CRF1100L Africa Twin - Adventure Sports ES. Hard times for Honda in that segment...

    1000cc Enduro? Who have they signed to race it in the enduros... Can't imagine any of the top riders will quit their 300cc two smokers to race a 4stoke 1100cc touring bike.
    Sorry for the sarcasm but why label it Enduro

    Seems like a chunky lard bike. How come it’s not light weight? Give us a beefier crf450, not a huge ass one ☝️

    Stupid design.. they lower a rally bike seat????? dumb dumb dumb. The AT is already Too low and for what is supposed be an off-road bike you lower the seat even more???????/ And it should have been 750cc and 2+ more suspension travel than the AT.

    • @LeisureMotoTV
