    Wow I couldn’t believe you handstitched all sides, so much work but I’m sure it’s well worth it knowing it’ll be strong and sturdy, I’ve made these covered in cardstock so will definitely give fabric and lace a go. Look forward to part 3 xx

    Mary, I'm inspired to do this project using your excellent instructions. Please tell me the yardage (outer and inner) required.

    Lovely, clear instructions Mary. I shall need some fabric before I begin but so far, it all looks very easy to follow. TFS 💗

    Hi Mary! Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! I wasn't sure I was going to try but your instructions are great! I'm caught up to where you left off and I'm so excited because cutting and measuring is a drag! Lol! So far so good! Hugs...

    Are your fabric pieces 1 cm bigger all around the board pieces? It looks like that too me but i could not find the info in any of the 4 parts.

      Yes, at least l centimetre Leslie, perhaps l.5 cm if fabric allows. Thanks for watching and hope you manage to follow along and make a nice box. Warning, they can be compulsive. Enjoy the process.

    I’ve made a few of these boxes over the years and I take my hat off to you for doing a tutorial, it’s quite an achievement Mary I don’t think I could tackle one well done 😊💖

      Bit stressful inasmuchas I don't want to forget the smallest detail. An example, I did not mention how big the seam allowance should be but I'm hoping common sense will prevail. Tutorials are hard work but I am constantly asked to do this one. The funny thing is about ten years ago I said I would not do anymore, I had already done too many and here I am starting all over again lol. Nothing is new is it, what comes round goes round. Didn't the Victorians start this?

    I am still a little confused about which cards should be cut from thick vs. thin card stock.

    • @marybarratt2649
      @marybarratt2649  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can use any thickness of card that is fairly rigid. I use mount board for all of the sections of the box. I have used thinner card for the lining sections but there are no hard and fast rules about thickness of card.
