- Remember to cut the pieces for the outer in thick card and the linings in thinner card. The lid in thicker and the inner lid and outer padded lid are in thinner card. If you are unsure, just ask. All three bases are in thick card.

I think the hardest part is cutting out the card pieces. Once you have made one and know what you are doing, you will want to make more. Watch all the videos through before you start and if you get stuck just ask. xx

I will save this till I can get some grey board. I am excited to learn how to make one It will be better that the box I'm using now.

Thanks, Mary. It will be enough to watch you make the etui (the dang spell-checker kept changing etui to Ethiopian). Not kidding! Your explanations were easily translated in my brain. I think in pictures. I will watch to see how the pieces are joined. Picture=1,000 words. I like making things, sometimes only in my head. My brain already has a knob screwed into the center top.

Very clear tutorial Mary, your a good Teacher. My son inlaw just brought me 2 very large pieces of very thick greyboard to protect something he ordered. I have to messure the thickness and i hope i can use that for the sewing etui. If i cant use it i will buy what i need, but i am saving the video's for later. Up to part 2. Tfs Hugs xxxSonja

Something you can always refer back to should you need to make one anytime. Ive made so many in the past, I never thought I would still be making them now lol. I must look through my patterns for something else to tackle. TFW x

Mary, thank you so much for this tutorial. I plan on making some of these for my granddaughters. I have a couple of questions: What size is the bottom of the inner box? Are the only thick parts the outer pieces? Once again thank you so much for putting this video on TH-cam.
Do you have the box measurements in writing please video a bit fast for me
You can make these to your own measurements. I have given you all of the measurements to make a l2 x 9cm box all the way through the video, which are very clear and I did go slowly.
