Shit is overrated bro is one of the most selfish and bad people in the story but supposed to feel for him just cause he tried to redeem himself after being caught lying and let’s not pretend it’s a little lie either
Nah, the meaning is different. "Chad" is more like a cool but likeable guy. "Hard-boiled" has more of an edgy connotation, and doesn't necessarily mean cool nor likeable. Also, it can refer both to a person or an inanimate thing. Like in "a hard-boiled story". It means something like tough, adult, rough around the edges.
In the cover story franky did eventually get his drink with senor pink. Oda tricked us so hard thinking this is some gag character just for him to unleash one of the saddest backstorys (which he decided to include last minute by his editor) . Senor pink truly is peak masculinity 🐐
Oda writes a backstory for every named character he makes. Apparently this wasn't a planned include, but his editor thought it was so beautiful,he insisted on Senior Pink's backstory being included. When we finally got that fan request from Oda for Franky and Senoir Pink drinking gimlis in a bar. Franky and everyone else in the bar except Senoir Pink are crying so many manly tears, it's clear Senior Pink told him the story we saw.
Light spoiler . . . . . but with him being locked up in Impel Down, I hope he and Bon-clay met up and become friends, if not just future allies of the Strawhats
Apparently, the way it went is, Oda writes backstories for all of his minor characters, however, the editors really felt about the senor pink story, so they told him to include it Edited for grammar
This is one of the wildest whiplashes for folks cause everyones initial reaction to Senior Pink is to clown on him cause he looks like a goof... then you get here and find out why and you're like FUCK!... now it's raining where I'm at too... Also apparently originally Oda wrote this backstory but wasn't going to include it and his editor found it and called him a madman for not including it cause it was so good.
Every time i see senor pink and other backstorys like law robin and the merry moment i cry every each time its in the double digits foe every scene probably 😭🥲 Cant wait for kuma backstory in the anime, i will weep 😭😭😭
There isn't a single one piece fan, or even just someone who watched this scene, who hasn't been touched by Senior Pink's backstory. Crying is a requirement here.
its pretty heavily implied by senior pink, as him and Franky are flying up to the cage. he says if he could keep going he could see his wife and child again. since we know his son is dead there's only one way he could see both of them again.
So a little factoid I found fascinating is that Oda creates backstories for most of his major characters, though the overwhelming majority never appear on page. From what I understand Senior Pink's backstory was originally not intended to appear in the story at all, but Oda's editor asked what Senior Pink's story was out of curiosity and after hearing it strongly pushed for it to be included because it's so good.
Only Oda can make someone as ridiculous looking as Senior Pink, so fucking relatable and likeable. Such a tragic tale coming from the most unexpected place
Oda Sensei is the Master of all Backstories. He writes the backstories so well that we can't help but like the character now. I will never again be able to look at a hardboiled egg without thinking of Señor Pink and Franky.
Dressrosa in a nutshell: "Haha! Toys!" "Haha! Tournament!" *Slavery* "Haha! Hard-boiled!" *My son died while I was away and my wife had to spend days alone in our home knowing that I had lied to her for our entire relationship about me being the thing she hates most and now she's in a coma so I dress like a baby because it's the only thing she shows the slightest response to.* "Haha! Flowers!"
Oda: "you see that funny looking dude? You're gonna cry like a little bitch in a few episodes" Honestly Senor Pink for me is on the similar level as Bonclay and Laboon. "Looking forward to seeing them again" is a massive understatement
It is still beyond my comprehension how Oda manages to make me feel so bad for so many of the antagonists. Maybe it's because he is successfull in showing how "human" they all are
Dressrosa is SO good!! Oda crammed so much good stuff into it! It would be one of my top arcs if not for the pacing issues... the Bellamy bouncing... that ONE (1) coliseum crowd scene that they used over and over and over.... Toei please........
Dressrosa would have been goated in the Anime if the pacing was good. yes even if the animation was still kinda average/bad, but just the pacing much better, that alone would have made this arc so much better.
yeah, that broke me too, when you love someone that much, you'd do ANYTHING to make them smile. Senor Pink is such a tragic character, couldnt abandon his family, but he wanted a family of his own.
Jack has officially paid for all his Senor Pink slander with his tears.
We all did.
When it ended we all have the same respect Franky did.
He will pay off the slander once he dons Señor Pink cosplay.

Technically, "Hard-boiled" would be the original "Chad" before it was an actual thing. So that's it. They are indeed so _hardboiled_
Hardboiled is better, if only because Chad has been used to death at this point

Yep. I question it everytime i read a backstory.
Kyros is, indeed, him. The only person in all of One Piece to never skip leg day, Oda had to take one of them away just to slow him down.

Oda is just that damn good at getting emotions out of people.
