作曲家約翰．魯特（John Rutter, 1945－）的創作多屬合唱類型，且以宗教音樂為主，BBC音樂雜誌讚譽其為英國近代史上最成功、最知名的合唱音樂作曲家。
〈萬物光彩絢爛〉原為一首基督教的讚美詩，因為當時西敏合唱學院（Westminster Choir College）欲獻歌予海倫．肯普（Helen Kemp）女士，而委託魯特為之譜曲。
輕快明亮的前奏自鋼琴流瀉而出，接以甜美女聲，溫柔讚頌世界萬物的美好。男聲隨後加入，使曲風趨為開闊，如同居高臨下俯視廣袤大地，讓上帝的智巧傑作一一陳列眼前，令人衷心讚嘆。接著曲風一轉，由男聲與女聲分別吟唱，陳述著大千世界的萬般景致，如低語般輕述著考驗與救贖。
歌曲末段主題再現，在不斷升高曲調的過程中，心靈逐漸的接近至善至美，滿懷謙卑與感激，所見萬物皆光彩絢爛。全曲收尾於整齊溫柔的和聲，鋼琴以流暢和緩的伴奏，為本曲畫下句點。

This brought tears to my eyes. It's one of the loveliest choral pieces I've ever had the good fortune to sing. What is doubly wonderful seeing this confirmation that the Western choral tradition is one of the most universal languages have created, so well expressing our deepest humanity.

I had to sing this poem (memorize) for my school assembly
I am originally from that nation, but was adopted and am in an awesome family, where I can sing this beautiful hymn, "All Things Bright and Beautiful". As part of my music and singing practice, I learnt to both sing and play this piece as it is so wonderful and true.

Beautifully done. The America influence on pronunciation is my only criticism. Rutter is English and I was expecting an interpretation more in line with the English choral tradition.
In Taiwan English education probably follows the american one. Hong Kong choirs, on the other hand, obviously follow the English pronunciation.
