Awesome! Yes, the jaig eyes are really difficult, especially getting them symmetrical. Pretty sure that time lapse part is on like 6 times speed since it took me so long lol.
This is a case of using the resources at your disposal. At the time, for me, hot glue was the most accessible tool, and it got the job done. Upgrading to a mechanical stock will certainly improve the longevity of your build, but it’s not inherently better for someone just starting out.
Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Have you tried using 0.3 layer height and Changing your nozzle to .6? I printed mine at 100%. Took 1day 14 hours. Layer height alone helps with less hours. Thanks again great paint job!
Thank you! I’ve thought about experimenting with those settings but wasn’t sure about the resulting quality. Did .3 layer height result in a rough print that needed lots more sanding or was it alright?
Nice job on the Helmet, im in the process of slicing my rex and noticed what you said on the sizing, that said im having issues with front to back but im going to try maybe a small slice of the narrowest part to get me % right now im at 108% , what file did you use for this? i got mine from chris the prop guy..
Any chance you still have that cricut file for the jaig eyes? I’m about to paint one up myself and wanted to ask if you had it because it would help a bunch! Thank you so much
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it saved over the year :/ however I just used a jpg image off of google and had Cricut auto trace it. Shouldn’t be too hard to replicate hopefully. I hope your build is going well!
I printed at 200C extruder and 60C bed, but those settings are for PLA. check the website of the brand of filament you're using and they should have info for ABS
I’ve stuck with Hatchbox 1.75mm PLA. Not having used PETG before I can’t say it’ll be exactly the same, but I’m fairly certain that following these steps should yield good results.
@@skyguycustoms Thanks man I just found this considering I’m buying a 3-D printer just for this buying all the same supplies from your video and was wondering if I’d be able to connect with you to help if I have any questions during the process
Really cool! I’m starting my own rex helmet now
Awesome!
You are insanely talented! Thank you so much again, I cannot wait to get him 💙🧡💯
Talented in copying the original designer's (gallatic Armory) you tube video ?
dude i just started watching and it looks sick, your so talented 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was honestly better than the dude with 200k subs and way more detailed
Super appreciate that! Going to keep making videos like this in the future.
This deserves more views
Heard you on the rexin around show. Your work is AWESOME. I’ve been 3D printing and painting helmets too.
That’s so cool! Thank you!!
Also saw you had a ducks sign in your garage. Go ducks!
@@jmproductions7152 yes indeed! Go ducks!
That turned out awesome my dude!
Missing some weld lines. But very very very cool. Can’t wait to start mine.
I am making one as well, the jaig eyes are honestly the hardest part.

Dang this video only has 1k views, but probably in the future many more
I’m just happy that people enjoy it! Actually hit 1k today, as a matter of fact!
This is a dope tutorial!
Thank you so much!!
Such a masterpiece. Great video mate! That Captain Rex helmet turned out very pretty.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it!!
Does gluing the rangefinder on with hot glue sturdy enough? Most people usually use a mechanical hold for theirs to keep it from breaking off.

This is insane!! Would you ever consider doing a fives helmet tutorial?
Oh heck ya! Gotta make him soon.
Gee man, you’ve got a lot of potential, can’t wait till ur famous 😇
haha we’ll see about that. Thank you!
Yo that’s sick!! Good job, I want do it by myself now!!
Awesome, I hope you do!
Wow only 23 likes 😬 I’m sorry to see that man… hopefully the algorithm hits you 🙌
haha I know, it’s a slow grind. I appreciate every bit of support though.

Not really. You need to sand anyways. Like you said, an electric sander helps. Oh, and no support is needed in the cheeks.
The back took 19 hours and dome was 1 day 2 hours
@@sandragon2714 ya I was just trying to show what an extra cautions slice would look like. I usually print with a lot less supports.

This was made with galactic armory files. Printing a cross section like you mentioned is a great method for testing the size

Great job
Te quedo genial, amigo, felicidades
@SkyGuyCustoms A" Creality ENDER 3" Is enough if i want to print a phase 2 clone mask? The specs are: 220mm×220mm×250mm.
You’ll need to slice it into pieces for smaller machines like that, but it’s entirely still doable!
thats nice, keep going bro
What is the infill and wall size?
What temperatures and parameters did you use? Im new to printing and have tons of ABS to start a 501 clone armor
I printed at 200C extruder and 60C bed, but those settings are for PLA. check the website of the brand of filament you're using and they should have info for ABS
You are awsome thank you so much
Oooo man That looks awesome😨😨😨 do you sell your stuff?
I do! Link the description to my Instagram and Etsy shop. :)
This looks epic
Is this wit PETG or PLA? if its PLA would the same process work on PETG?
I’ve stuck with Hatchbox 1.75mm PLA. Not having used PETG before I can’t say it’ll be exactly the same, but I’m fairly certain that following these steps should yield good results.

CAPTAIN FREAKIN' REX!!!!!
Hell ya!
What 3d printer is that?
It's a Creality CR-10v2
Noice
Hmmmmmmm way he smooths it seem a little to familar galactic armory
yep, it’s common practice for a large portion of the prop-making community.
My guy he used the galactic armory files. If course he'd use similar methods.
