Great video. I was using the same cooler but black and different CPU, 7700x. My temps were way to high at idle and gaming. I noticed that there was very little resistance/mounting pressure when tightening the cooler down. Come to find out the mounting brackets were bending up and not pulling the cooler down onto the CPU to have adequate mounting pressure. I switched it out for a DeepCool AN 600 and adjusted the spine to accommodate the height difference. My temps were way better.
love the sffpc, i build myselft a a4-h2o from lian li but aircooled instead of AIO, thinking of shrinking it more in the future to a velka 7 or something like sub 7lts. its an awesome feeling. nice build man and do more of these.
I was able to shoehorn the Sapphire Nitro+ 7900 XTX into my Fractal Terra but the cpu cooler the Thermalright AXP90-X53 sticks out prohibiting the side panel from being placed back on that side of the case. I have obtained an Alpenfohn Black Ridge cooler and a set of G Skill FlareX DDR5-6000 CL30 low profile ram which I will install in place of the Thermalright. I also have a Corsair SL850L PSU but the cables were taking up too much space and included smaller than standard connectors that plug into the psu, so I discovered that Cablemods makes cables specifically for psu but not in a length suitable for the Terra. I had to find a metric ruler and use the measurements of custom cables I had for my FormD T1 from pslatecustoms to enter into the configurator when selecting the cables I wanted for my build. I may swap to a reference designed XTX if I have the same issues with the Alpenfohn cooler. The case is great I have no real gripes about it even though I was looking to use a 240mm AIO and this case wasn't designed with that option in mind.
wow really? i didn't think one of those could make it in there that's crazy. those cablemod lines should be nice, lmk how it ends up! thanks for checking out my content!
with the reference XTX, the fan gets a bit loud because it runs so hot. this particular GPU is probably not the ideal choice for this case lol. but when i throw an efficient GPU in there, it's dead quiet
This case looks amazing. My only concerns are about noice levels when its that close on a desk, and thermals. I assume the case gets hot when it is that small?
Finally found an all AMD build! Thanks you! Tired of the influencers only using ngreedia gpus. Question, by any chance, do you have a Sapphire Pulse 7900xtx to try in this case?
How are the acoustics on it, I've heard the terra can have a really nasty sounding whistle if the CPU cooler is too close to the case causing a lot of really loud turbulence
probably easier to get a little bit of a higher profile cooler, there's very little clearance with the IS-55. The 55 is for those looking to save the most space, with only 55mm height. They make a an IS-67, which has 67mm clearance as the name implies amzn.to/4dK8zYJ. This one will fit most RAM kits.
hi, i made this and then tore it apart soon after. But, many people have asked so I'm gonna put it back together for noise and heat tests. It does get toasty especially if you put a high powered card in there. Were you looking to see with a 7900XTX in there?
Do you know if I have the XFX radeon rx7900xtx MERC310 gpu instead of your powercolor rx7900xtx if it will fit in this configuration in this fractal terra itx case? Assuming the other components are the same
A lot of people have been asking that, but I didn't do much noise/thermal testing when i built it. The XTX generally runs pretty hot though, so the fans were going and it wasn't exactly quiet when gaming on high graphics settings in 1440 and above. I'm putting another Terra together along with a Hyte Revolt 3 config. Thermal and noise testing will be included this time around. The videos should be out shortly. Thanks for checking out my video though.
I want to build this exact same pc but replace the CPU cooler with a Scythe Big Shuriken Rev B (67mm in height vs your 55mm, 12mm difference). Do you think that would be possible if I scootched the GPU a little more to create some more space? I loved the vid btw
@@pyurologie wow thank you so much for the quick reply. I think I'm gonna settle for the same cooler you have but switch the fan out with a noctua nf-a12x25.

Hi can you do a benchmark of 7800x3d/7900 XTX on rust in 1440p performance/medium/high settings? I'm contemplating between getting a 4080S or a 7900XTX but don't know which will pair better for rust with the 7800X3D. Also will be playing mostly 1440p. Also, do you know if the 7950x3d is significantly faster in rust and worth upgrading to?
Just casually pulls out a couple grand in GPUs.

nice, that's a great looking case too! yes, i agree SFF is soooo satisfying
but why would you air cool in a case designed for an aio
You used the secondary SSD slot. this mobo has two SSD slots. The primary one is under the small black fan south of the CPU

Some people have reported annoyig turbulence with the Terra. How's your experience in this regard? Have you lisented your system at full load?
I didn't experience that, but I only used it for a bit. I'll fire it back up and see.
How loud does it get inside this case? Would you say its normal compared to other PCs?
with the reference XTX, the fan gets a bit loud because it runs so hot. this particular GPU is probably not the ideal choice for this case lol. but when i throw an efficient GPU in there, it's dead quiet

it can get a bit noisy and hot with a powerful card like the XTX, which tends to run very hot. newer gen cards that use less juice arent as bad

Very nice looking case, great color too. Wanted one but in the end didn't seem worth the limitations and compromises needed. For gaming at least.
Hey do you think an SFX would be easier to install than an SFX-L ?
it wouldn't hurt, SFX form factor would likely give you about 30mm of extra space for routing wires over an SFX-L
