OMG!! You just added to the module what it was lacking. And log level knob is such a genius little change that will make it sounds more organic! Thank you! Definitely going to update. A funny little thing: just a few weeks ago I was selling another module and didn’t have a box for it so I used the box that was coming with the SoundStage 1( I thought I would never have to sell it anyway because I just love it.) and suddenly you drop this😬
The sequence starting at 6:20 has a lot of not so pleasant clipping. Was that due to the recording being too hot going into your interface, or was that from the soundstage itself clipping due to a bit too much bass perhaps?
That was clipping the inputs of the field recorder, I was running straight from the SoundStage outs to the line ins on it. I recorded all this in one take improvising so didn’t check my levels again when the bass got heavy. The SoundStage has whole lot of headroom and won’t get close to clipping with just two inputs.

@@brettbott hi! It’s running directly to the line inputs of the Sound Devices MixPre6, with the input gain adjusted appropriately. Eurorack level is just +13dBu line level so any decent interface can handle it, running direct and using the SoundStage II Level control will result in the best quality signal. If your interface can’t handle euro levels I’d recommend either running to a stereo DI and then to your mic inputs or upgrading the interface to one which can. If you want an output module because it’s more convenient to have your outputs on 1/4” and you want a headphone amp as well I’d recommend the Instruo Cuir or the WMD Pro Output.
if you use send/return in mono you can't add 2 different effect at the same time? being 2 send and 2 return...? of course than it will have one effect on the left and other effect on the right ... what about the central? will they get both equally? i dont get what's the difference between sendin a reverb to this fx send return and using the reverb after this module from the official output... since the send return are not affected by the volum knob.... im missin something... sorry for noob questions... im not familiar with send/return.... i understand in a normal mixer they allow you to add to every channel(inputs) an effect and usually control the amount of effect. here this last thing is missing but you can do it from the effect module itself. im definetly gonna by and understand everything by my self anyway. love the concept of the mixing !!
If you use both left and right parts of the send and return loop you’re not using it in mono, it only sums to mono when you only patch the left side. To use mono effects with it then consider getting a LRMSMSLR or MidSide+ to allow you to easily add stereo mono effects to stereo signals. The difference between patching an effects unit to the output and using the send and return loop is the send and return loop is always fully filtered, so you can have different depth settings on the effects send and the main mix.
@@worng_electronics thanks for the answer! i got another one ... would it be legit to use the fx for a stereo reverb (for example) and at the same time entering the return also with sound from another mixer or stereo source? so using the return sockets at the same time for the return of the reverb as well as for the stereo input of another stereo source.
@@LazarusGordon it’s modular so you can do whatever you want with it! But yeah you could mix the reverb return in with other dry signals and patch that in the stereo return, that would work for sure.
It’s 100% analogue (like all WORNG modules) so it doesn’t have any firmware. If you’re bothered by the volume dip there are a couple of resistors you can remove which will give a smoother fade at the cost of potentially not getting complete silence with the Level control fully CCW, but obviously if you modify your SoundStage and damage it your warranty is voided.
This version allows you to have the fx send fully filtered but the dry mix filtering set by the Depth control. You can also use the return as an extra mixer for summing to the SoundStage outputs, among other things.
@@worng_electronics How does the left/right fx sends work? Is it just the left side when patched a mono source to the left send return or does it do any kind of stereo output with the one mono signal in the final outputs?

An example would be the SSF Vortices which comes with a little 2hp expander that you can just send lfos, envelopes, faders etc to. Saves a lot of hp. Either way I been thinking of adding an extra mixer to my case and I think yours might be the one.
@@shane_l8085 all the VCAs in the module already have CV controls available on the module (with attenuverters), in the form of the Level and Depth CV ins.
You can even create autopan effects using two VCAs -> just send an LFO to the first VCA CV input and identical LFO but inverted to the second VCA CV input

@@foxendeavor if you just patch the left output both sides are summed to mono, patching the right channel reactivates stereo.
