Aaahhhh, the words of Saw Guerra-- the FIRST star wars character to start off animated, and then make it to live-action...
Ok, gonna be honest here-- Saw needs his own series...
As intricately layered and multi-faceted a character as there is in the star wars universe, Saw is a founding father of the rebellion who's penchant for extreme militancy, I believe, warrants a deeper analysis...
      One can only hope...

It's an absolutely beautiful soundtrack that I've had on repeat all day on Spotify and I can't wait for the next 4 episodes OST's to be released there as well.

It is art, the care people put into the acting, cinematography, writing, directing, score, world building, realism, message and lore of the show is astounding, I always new that the Star Wars brand had the potential to be this good. But since Disney took over they’ve been playing it relatively safe - they’ve forced their content to fit a certain style, a certain standard, where action takes precedence over everything else simply due to spectacle and it’s potential for profit. They’ve butchered the lore of the franchise that they bought in the interest of lining their pockets. However, they’ve been on an upswing, producing good shows like The Mandolorian, which is far ahead of the quality of their sequel trilogy, this unfortunately still falls in line with the empire’s [Disney’s] brand of action for spectacle, which allowed them to rush their production of what could’ve been two amazing shows following fan favourite characters (Obi-Wan and Boba). This show slipped through the cracks of Disney’s empire and has shown us the power and impact that Star Wars can have, and we loved it, the true Star Wars fans loved it, not for its (still remarkable spectacle) but for its story and message, it has shown us what Star Wars can yet still be. We have asked for more of this quality and have been given a second season of this show, I cannot wait to see what they do, but I predict it to be amazing and I hope it finally shows Disney what we want.

    • @thenewkalpa
      @thenewkalpa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +35

Book of Boba took the same tone as every SW show or movie had. It's not a bad thing at all. I love Book of Boba. I find it weird that we put so much onus on BoBF, yet we forget the idea of a dark Mandalorian show being turned into a more family friendly show actually started with Mandalorian. Book of Boba is simply an extension of The Mandalorian.
Personally, I loved everything that's been coming out. Andor is one of my favorite (alongside The Bad Batch) for the down to earth feel, the dwellings of the average person being shown so often, the motivations of every character being shown in a human way, the dark reality of policing and the Republic/Empire's evil destructive conquest on worlds, indigenous tribe being the main protagonists of the show with fleshed out language built for the show and kept mysterious to give ultra autonomy to this tribe of people, the theme song of the show, the ability of the show to change settings seamlessly with beautiful architecture and set pieces, and most importantly the ability of the show to stand on its own without fanservice, something Mandalorian is guilty of first (though, it's not a bad thing, just not my cup of tea; I do love it for what it is even if it derails the Mandalorian's story). Even if Andor is one of the best, it doesn't mean the other more family-friendly shows aren't great. I think The Bad Batch, my absolute favorite, managed to mix these two types of shows perfectly.

Book of Boba just took a pretty bad direction. Making Boba a gang leader and grounding him on a desert planet was a bad call. I'd have rather they not make a show centered around his character and have him be an assisting character like he was in Mandalorian season 2. He lost some qualities that we saw in the original trilogy too, his ruthless nature and smart instincts. But I attribute that to bad writing.

The other shows set the bar so low... Andor has mini arcs of 3 episodes (The Prologue, the Aldhani Heist, Narkina 5, Ferrix) and in each and every mini-arc they manage to have more world-building and character development than all the other series in an entire season. 3 whole seasons of The Mandalorian, virtually zero character evolution for Din, even less so secondary characters, and don't get me started on the other series that avoid world-building and character development as much as they seem to avoid good writing and acting.
And Andor avoids all the usual boring clichés. All the characters are relatable to an extent. Yes the antagonists are evil, but not the typical "mindless cruel incompetent Imperial" and at some point you kinda feel for them a little even. Not dehumanising characters is really important, especially antagonists. That's quality writing.

You know what hit me listening to this beautiful music, your arrangement and production of it? The soundtrack perfectly emphasizes the bitter-sweet nature of this entire series. Think about it, in this show we are literally watching the last five years in a man's life. Now tragedy is nothing new in "Star Wars"...but it is different when it is focused on a single person. That is pretty impactful, even if it is only a fictional character. Just go back and look at pictures, old home movies, footage of any kind, of family and friends that have passed away, look at the dates on those and then look at them...how they lived their lives not knowing when or how the end would come. That's what it feels to me at times when watching "Andor"...

You know what I love about that show ? It takes its time, you see a lot of characters, solid background, dirt, misery, no fancy Jedi, no force. Just the struggle and life under oppression, some scenes reminded me of France during world war 2 (when the imperial troops chose to take the hostel as their headquarters, just like the gestapo in some French town)
    It’s grim, hopeless, dark,
And cassian isn’t a white knight, he kills, sometimes potential Friends. I just love this character. Loved him in rogue one. And I’m so glad they are extending his story (and also ; Melshi !!!!!!!!)

From Episode 1, season 1, scene 1 of Andor through the final scene of A New Hope, once Andor Season 2 is done, will essentially be one continuous story. Right now adding up Andor Season 1, Rogue One, and A New Hope, we have 809 minutes. If Andor Season 2 is around the same length as Season 1 (555 minutes), this will give us 22 hours and 40 minutes of continuous, amazing, emotional, kick-ass storytelling.......

This was the best Star Wars series I‘ve ever watched. I also found my new favorite character „Andor“. Everything was perfect, especially the music. You can hear it from the music the glimmer of hope in the galaxy the realization to do something and the beginning of a rebellion which will lead to peace in the galaxy and hopefully to democracy! I actually teared up listening to this because you realise that one single person is able to achieve everything if the person wants to. And that is what is humanity about so never be afraid of making your next move because even if you fail you stood for something and gave it everything! So Never give up do it again and again and maybe someday you will wake up and realise that all you did was necessary and then you‘ll succeed.

This ost was incredible, it played the perfect moment. I love how the show captures the birth of the rebellion. The looks in people's eyes after the incident are remarkable

The story behind Andor, is becoming reality. Think about it. Nice music, and very good to watch Andor. Trust the Force.

There is a very small part of me, like 1%, that feels Andor had no right to be this good. Why is this show god tier when Obi-Wan Kenobi is a soft 6/10? But then there's the other 99%, the part of me that's been a fan of Star Wars my whole life, that is overjoyed to see something so beautiful, emotional, well-crafted, and beloved come out of this franchise. It gets me weirdly emotional. Moreso than a sequel trilogy, this feels like a once in a lifetime event to me. I adore it
